  1. Coffee at the campsite first thing in the morning is our ritual as well, just as it was when we were boating. We get whole beans from here- https://www.fontecoffee.com/ And use a slow, burr hand grinder by Hario, and make it pour-over style into one of these... https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01I4NQCYC/ref=mp_s_a_1_5_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1500856404&sr=8-5&keywords=melitta+carafe Takes a while, but worth the wait.

  2. My pump quit working once while on the road. There are two wires that connect to the pump that had worked themselves loose. I crimped the connectors for a tighter fit, and that seems to have fixed it. Mike

  3. I don't know if this applies to your rig, but my new Elite II has circuit breakers mounted in the end cabinet above the rear window. One of them is marked pump. Brad - Santa Fe NM

  4. Spike, This article will tell you more than you ever wanted to know about fuses. The ones in our Oliver's are like the ones shown as ATO (regular) but you will probably find them as ATC fuses. The difference being that the ATC has a fuse element that is closed (hence the “C” in the code) inside the plastic housing, sealing it from the environment to prevent corrosion from developing. The ATO fuse is open on the bottom, exposing the fuse element between the blades. You will need some 10 amp, 15 amp and 20 amp ones. The jacks in the rear are now being wired with fuses that are inline near each jack (like the outside front jack) rather than being fused at the box. They require 30 amp AG (all glass) slow blow fuses. I would keep a few of these on hand also.

  5. I love coffee! My coffee preparation is the same in my Ollie as it is at home except that I use a hand grinder (burr) when camping. My grinder is a bit extreme, but it's built to last a lifetime: http://www.oehandgrinders.com/LIDO-3-_c_30.html. I like Hario products too. I use a Hario scale to weigh coffee and water to get the ratio I like (16:1). I also like the Hario pour-over kettle: https://www.amazon.com/Hario-VKB-120HSVV60-Buono-Pouring-Kettle/dp/B000IGOXLS. I drip the coffee directly into a Yeti insulated travel mug that works well as a small thermos. I usually buy coffee on a subscription basis from small roasters--I change every 2-4 months. Recent favorites are Red Rooster, Counter Culture, PT Roasting and Heart. I also make cold brew with coffee from Blue Bottle. When I'm traveling for more than 2-3 weeks, I search for local coffee roasters where I'm traveling. It's hit and miss, but worth the adventure. Don

  6. Angela and Kyle, Welcome and congratulations on your Ollie! We also like camping at TN State Parks. The fall foliage in TN may be nice when you pick up your Ollie, too. This event is too early for your Ollie pick-up date, but we want to attend the National Banana Pudding Festival at least one time in the future. It will be held 10/7 & 8 this year at Centerville, TN. https://www.bananapuddingfest.org/

  7. Spike if you look in your fuse box just below the small dinette seat facing the bath you will see a slew of different fuses that vary from 10 amp to 30 amp all color coded. You could take one out with a pair of needle nose pliers to your local auto or hardware store to match. They probably have a name but I don't know it. The fuses are U shaped once they are pulled from the fuse box with two metal tabs that connect into the female arms that John Davies referred to earlier in the thread. You'll need to purchase a multi pack with all values hopefully with at least 2-3 per amp value. Piece of cake, don't let it intimidate you.

  8. I'm still here! ScubaRx saved me the trouble of digging around for the old post on this subject. The system works great and is available in AC or DC powered versions, as is the Wayne pump. As for the chlorine dioxide, some folks get nervous because of the word "chlorine" in its name. A little research on the 'net will give you a good background on its use/safety. If you're drinking tap water at home, the odds are that it was purified using chlorine dioxide. Also, it works great as a waste tank treatment, so now one bottle of chlorine dioxide serves both purposes for me since I no longer have to worry about stopping at Walmart for tank treatment. 1 ounce treats 30 gallons, so it saves space, too.

  9. You may want to check the switch itself. This happened to me as well. The wire connection to the switch is a simple female spade wire connector. Ours slid off one of the two tabs on the back of the switch. I took the loose connector and pinched it closer together with some pliers and then slid it back on the switch tab. Back in business. Hope it's as simple for you. Here's a pic of the connector that was used on our rig: Dave

  10. Angela.. We applied our own graphic at a campsite. We also put on the hull # (hull # supplied by Oliver, but we were not sure where we wanted it). The big graphic was easier to put on than the hull number, because of the material it was made from. We got the graphic ahead of time and took it with us. It was designed by me, enhanced and supplied by Banana Banners out of Bowdoinham, Maine. She ships. (She does fire trucks too, and you know how fussy they are). We have seen some really nice custom graphics from dream catchers, compass roses, pictures, animals,, to landscapes. The choices are endless. Maybe something to reflect the name you are giving 'it'. You might as well name it. It will develop a personality and become a member of your family. Keep us posted, and maybe we will see you on the open road... What part of the world is home? And where do you roam?

  11. Since the forecast was warm and humid this weekend, we headed back to Mount Pisgah Campground NC on the Blue Ridge Parkway to get out of the heat. Had the pleasure to meet another forum member. Hiked to Crabtree Falls NC close to BRP, too! Mr. Trumpetguy: Crabtree Falls NC close to BRP:

  12. Hello and welcome there are lots of post on what to have so I would just read those, a couple of suggestions for that time of year and we enjoyed that are close to the Oliver's should you have to make a short stop back for anything here are a couple ideas. Just north go to Mammoth Caves National Park, then I would do some of the Bourbon Trail in Bardstown stay at the My old Kentucky Home Park and if full with the Ollie u can ask to just stay in the overflow which we liked better in the tent section no elec or water but good for a couple days, has over tree head cover so will not fully charge each day if u have solar. Be sure to do Buffalo Trace distillery, then the biggies Makers Mark, Jm Beam, Turkey, Four Roses, etc. . Lexington is another more distilleries and also the BatFactory louisville slugger factory. To the south you have in Tenn Jack Daniels in Lynchburg and farther south is the Lodge factory if you are into Dutch oven etc for cast Iorn in South Pittsburg around Chattanooga another good stop with history do Look Out Mountain etc. Another one possible is if you have not been is the Redneck Disney/ Orlando we call it ,Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg Tenn. with Dollywood and all the tourist traps. This will keep you all within a days drive back for a while and of course we like the state parks of Tennessee most are great and along the Smokies. Well good luck and hope to see yu all on the road be safe and enjoy the life style as we all do. Thanks Gary

  15. You're so right. Best water makes the best coffee. We carry what we can from home rainwater, and then live with what we find later, if on a long trip.catchas catch can... Or buy distilled water when it gets ugly. Sherry

  16. We start our day with a cup of coffee whether at home or camping. The right water is key so we bring bottled water when camping. I didn't think to fill a jug when we were at Hot Springs, I'll bet that would make great coffee! Mike
