  2. On April 12, 2017, our Legacy Elite II was hooked to OTT’s forklift and brought outside into the sunshine, ready to be hitched to our tow vehicle. After six months of research, planning, consulting, and finally building our baby, (“Olivia”) the day had finally arrived. From the first phone call to Anita last year and our reliance on her knowledge, Jason’s expertise, and help from OTT’s able-bodied service crew, our specifications, dreams and wishes were fulfilled, and the final product was ready for the road! After owning multiple RVs and travel trailers over the last 18 years, and witnessing the “quantity over quality” mentality become the norm in the industry, it was exciting to learn that Oliver Travel Trailers is bucking that trend and offering a hands-on, custom-built product. OTT’s business model is what any RV manufacturer should aspire to. In our experience, their customer service is stellar. Any issues we had (which were very few) were handled quickly with patience and total accountability in doing the right thing for the customer. Every time we use our beautiful Oliver, or show her to potential buyers, we are grateful for our good fortunate at having discovered OTT, and proud/confident in recommending their products and customer service to anyone. We just wanted to take a moment here to share our experience with anyone reading the forum for the first time. Have fun, and enjoy the wild, blue yonder! Malcolm and Ursula

  3. We would like to announce the location and dates for our 2018 Rally. The 2018 Oliver Rally will be held May 4-7, 2018 at Lake Guntersville State Park in Alabama. Lake Gunterville State Park offers many fun activities including an 18-hole golf course, fishing, hiking and biking trails, boat rentals, ziplining and more. More details to come. For now we ask to hold off on questions. We will update the webpage dedicated to the Rally as we get more information. http://olivertraveltrailers.com/rally/

  4. As some of you know, we lost an awning leg a few weeks back to a thunderstorm. This was clearly my fault for not bring the awning in when we left to go for a swim at the beach. Adding to this situation, was the tragic shooting at Fiamma Inc which, left the only North American Distributor closed indefinitely and no spare parts available. After posting this in the forum, Phillip Andrews from Oliver responded to me and forward my problem on to Jason Essary. Jason reached out to me to understand which parts I needed and went to work to find them in their "Boneyard." A day later he told me he found the parts and he was taking them over to shipping to have the parts sent out. The new leg arrived today and within 15 minutes everything was back to its original state. You can purchase a quality product from many companies but it's the people and how they treat you that makes them a great company. Oliver is a great company! With appreciation and pride, I own an Oliver,

  5. Your surge protector will not allow generator power to connect... it sees some sort of ground fault. You should have received one of these, look in your drawers (the trailer's, not your pants) and see if it is hiding. Plug it into the unused 120 receptacle and it should accept power from the other one. I don't know what to say about the house issue. Perhaps you need to get it checked by a good electrician. 6. Thank you Reed! I really appreciated your tip on saving water with the Eco mode. We have no need to use the comfort mode. We didn't get any decalcification tablets with our unit and wondered if we should have. I will give Jason a call about that. Thankfully our interior switch is working as it should. We are very happy with our choice to go with Truma.

  7. You won't regret going with the Atwood. Remember that you need special wiring to connect it to your thermostat to turn the fan on and off. Otherwise the unit will run constantly. This can wear on you after a few days. I solved this with a separate Honeywell digital thermostat to control the Atwood. Send the signal to a 30 amp relay and you control the Atwood the same as your AC at home. Oliver should be able to do for you during the build. when I bought my Airstream it came with a Dometic Brisk 15000 and I did the same mod with it. Works great.

  8. I have the same "stain" as John and I have a Coleman Mach 8, condensate water running off the roof wouldn't bother me, or the hull I would think, it's if there's crap on the roof that mixes with it and it's parked near shedding maples trees. While the awning gaskets work great to keep the rain from running down the sides, they also collect the water and debris to properly mix it and then focus the runoff to one spot so it REALLY shows...

  9. I threw the switch down being that both ways simply turn it on because the main board inside is the actual control board. So wherever you have the switch set inside, that's where it's at right? Well this is only true if the LED3 switch is actually working. Being an ex-boiler operator of 24years, I have ran systems almosts exactly the same as the Truma AquaGo, with the only difference basically being that the boilers that I worked on and maintained had fire boxes that you walked into and we're a few stories tall. So last night the water heater kept kicking on about every 5 minutes. It would run for a couple minutes and then shut down... To me it was obvious that throwing the switch down was not the same and that the owners manual was wrong... Up is Eco, Down is Comfort. So I got out of bed last night and went outside and switched it back up, problem solved, the boiler only came on when we needed hot water again. I called Truma again today and asked the Service Lady if I was right about the switches... And she said yes, but only if the inside LED3 switch isn't connected. So... Now we have a problem because the LED3 switch has all of the cleaning controls programmed into it and with it not working, I can't clean and decalcify the water system because there's no way to activate the cleaning cycle which basically just turns on the circulation pump. She said that there was no way for me to do it and I assured her that I could easily figure it out. She laughed a bit and agreed because this was the second time that I had brought a problem with their schematic to their attention and I do know my way around a little boiler. Basically the pills disolve in about 10 minutes and then the integrated circulation pump recirculates the decalcification toxins thru the water tube nest above the firebox. This is common and has to be done on every boiler. So the problem is that now, either the switch is dead or the junction wire that runs between the hulls is broken. The water heater works fine other then it needs to be cleaned and we have plenty of hot water for dishes and can still take short showers. I called Jason today and told him that I need both a new LED3 Switch and a new junction wire... And a set of tablets and that I need them today. So to make a long story short, he overnighted them and they will be here tomorrow :) If it turns out to be the wire then I will clean and decalcify the system first before starting on the wire pulling and routing the new wire from the heater to the new switch. Either way it's a little work but this water heater sure is nice :) I will make a complete Truma video that includes the tips mentioned above along with the actual final fix and cleaning. I'm really happy with our Oliver and Goldilocks has been put through the paces for sure. The moral of this story is, if there's no yellow light on your Truma AquaGo switch inside the trailer, don't wait for the system to need cleaning before you fix it. I got lucky, I was a week ahead and from now on I will clean it every 5 months instead of 6. The manual says yearly and for us, the reality is no less then every 5 months. Reed

  10. Hello, we are Tom & Cheryl from middle Tennessee. We have been egg campers since 2006. First in a 17' Casita and now in a 19' Escape. We started looking at Olivers when they came to our Townsend rally a few years back. At that time I did not want to go inside one because I knew what would happen :-). As we near retirement we are looking at the Oliver for longer extended trips. We visited the factory last week and really enjoyed the tour. What a quality trailer. For now we are just gathering info but we are finding that we are having Oliver conversations several times a week. We really like the twin bed setup and not having to crawl on each other. If Cheryl had her way things would happen sooner than later. :-)

  12. The sun and moon have a special moment for Oliver Boondockers on August 21st... a total eclipse route across a wide path of the USA. If you missed the Total Eclipse of August 7, 1869, and the July 29, 1878 total eclipse... shame on you. Do not miss this one with your Elite I or Elite II with the Total Eclipse in a photograph. Post the photo on the Forum for proof. We hope to be in Idaho for this one. Unfortunately we and our two Blue Heelers missed the previous two... for good reasons, of course.

  13. There's also a huge sound drop in the Dometic after the Micro-Air Easy Start is installed. The compressor isn't ramping up under a full load anymore and it's a major difference that's really noticeable.
