  1. Bathroom door hack using a Camco basement door catch attached with a Command strip.

  2. The Oliver webpage mentions that they provide most of the items needed for campsite hookups like the potable water hose and a water pressure regulator. Is the water pressure regulator an adjustable type or a fixed pressure setting with no adjustment ?

  3. I used the little stick on bumpers (either rubber or felt) that are used to sometimes cushion cabinet doors and drawers. I got them at Home Depot or Walmart. Should be easy to find. Before we left on this current trip I did Spike’s solution and removed the one on the side of the dinette and moved it inside. Still enough magnetic power but the door doesn’t warp when you disconnect, plus it looks better.

  4. My experience has been that the pump’s pressure is typically better. The drawbacks to using the pump are the effort it takes and long term wear on the pump. The advantages are not having to disconnect in freezing temps or having to use a heated hose, not worrying about water pressure, and just gaining a better familiarity with the onboard system if you don’t boondock much. We have a filter just in case we need to pull from a stream, but don’t use it regularly. We carry bottled water, as many do, so don’t see the need to filter water from a tap. The screens on the inlet and the pump are enough to catch any debris that might harm the pump. In general, we don’t worry too much about water pressure spikes either, though we carry a regulator from RV Water Filter Store. We carry a spare pump, which IMO is cheap insurance.

  5. John, PERFECT! Thanks for the pic. I'm a very visual learner. I am ordering the parts as we speak. We take delivery on "2 Hobos" in May but I want to gather enough most of the basics over the winter. Thanks again.

  6. Keep in mind the water hose and filter are not protected from over pressure, but I honestly don’t care much about that. This does get the entire unit out of the way and well off the ground, with the bumper either lowered or raised. The short spring reinforced hose section came with the Camco filter. It is not needed but provides a little flexibility and also takes some strain off the port in the side of the trailer. You could put the filter after the regualtor, to protect it, but I prefer to filter out any sediment before it reaches the regulator, which only has a coarse screen. There are definitely better filters out there! But they do the job, the refill 2-Packs for these are about $30 and you can get them from Amazon or any Walmart store. ... https://www.amazon.com/Camco-TastePURE-Flexible-Protector-40043/dp/B0006IX87S John Davies Spokane WA

  7. I used Mike's magnet-and-Command-Strip method, but found that I could put one magnet on the door and the other one inside the compartment under the seat. This has two advantages as far as I can tell: It eliminates adding another protuberance. It weakens the magnetic pull, making it easy to pull the door back and not put any strain on the door. (These magnets are pretty powerful.) I think that someone mentioned having to put something over the magnets to weaken the pull. Putting one magnet inside the compartment accomplishes the same thing.

  8. Appreciate your opinion, I was just musing about the signage - I prefer to stay out of the limelight. As for gun rights across the US, I understand them, and if not, know where to find the states individual firearms regulations. Yes, the poor woman in NJ was just an abomination of the law. I lived in NJ, I don't plan to go back, but one never knows. Our carry permit training specifically instructed us to inform law enforcement of a firearm present when in a traffic stop. Not sure I understand your warning. In fact, in TN, during a stop, the officer asked if I had a firearm on board, why - because my license information contained my carry permit information. I didn't and that was that. Deadly force is just that, it must be the absolute last choice. It is not a choice I ever plan to take, its just a last resort option. Thanks for the comments. RB

  9. Just two things....... then I will shut up. <for a bit anyway> 1. The whole hidden compartment debate centers around Oliver “advertising” their existence over the objections of quite a few loyal owners. at least imho. 2. Some well meaning advice for those who choose to carry firearms (really.... I am writing this with the best of intentions). Don’t advertise that you have them in any way. It’s not only keeping the bad guys ignorant, it’s the good guys too. There are states (NEW JERSEY) that will send you to JAIL for being in possession of your legally owned pistol that is unloaded and locked in a case. Yes, even though federal law allows this and is supposed to “pre-empt” state law. It’s happened, look it up. Don’t answer questions from law enforcement about firearms and NEVER consent to a search of your vehicle. I am not anti-cop and am an ex-LEO. ‘Next up on guns. Educate yourself on the use of deadly force in self defense. An excellent book is the Law of self defense by Andrew Branca. No one ever “wins” a firefight. If you do everything right you are still looking at about five years of hell, possible financial ruin, and loss of career (if you are still working). Off my soapbox for now. Happy and Safe travels my friends. Hope to see you at the rally. Scotty

  10. Nana - I'm sure that Mike & Carol will respond, but, in the meantime - I also used their idea and like you I didn't want to drill to install them. I used Command double sided tape: https://www.amazon.com/Command-General-Decorative-20-Strips-GP023-20NA/dp/B0751VFF2P/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1530229593&sr=8-5&keywords=command+strips&dpID=51vrI6-Vl1L&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch of the appropriate size a year ago and there has been absolutely no movement in either magnet to date.
