  1. It must just be me, but that Rivian is just ugly, looks like a Ford Flex knock-off. Tesla, a nice Federally funded, pseudo tech company, run by an eccentric rich dude, that has yet to meet its own metrics. I'll grant you, the cars look cool, perform to design specs, but Tesla doesn't have any tech that is all that proprietary. More PT Barnum than not. As some in the industry and from the auto press contend, Tesla is more auto manufacturer than a tech company. Elon for all his brilliance, has no idea how to run a high volume manufacturing business, and that will be his downfall - great idea, pitiful execution. Does not make money selling vehicles, but does ok trading environmental credits. But, as Seadog states, he got the ball rolling. Sometime, after I've long turned to dust, the Oliver of the future, will be hurtling itself down some lonesome trail, silently hovering along, headed to some cool spot- back of beyond. Until then, I'll take my dino powered behemoth with my Ollie in tow, into the wilderness, desperately seeking solitude from the constant droning, or is it cacophony, of electronic intrusion. Sorry OP, I just couldn't help it...I'm a natural - disrupter. Ha RB

  2. John, Just a quick follow-up to my inquiry... I believe you kept me from making a mistake! After reviewing specifications, I’ve come to realize that I need to adjust towing capacity with the weight of cargo in my tow vehicle. Because we would tow an Oliver as we do our Casita, we carry considerable equipment and supplies in the Jeep. That would put us over the top for safe towing of an Elite II. So, we’ll rethink our TV needs. Thank you so much for your assistance.

  3. It's your first trip, too. Oliver would have done a pressure test before they delivered it to you, but a weak connection might have needed a little bumping around before it decided to reveal itself. I broke a water line on our first trip, too, after hitting some big bumps on a Navaho road. There was a connection that was being stressed because the water line it was attached to wasn't fastened securely. No problem since. I recommend that everyone carry a roll of self-fusing silicone tape. That stuff is great for temporary water line repairs.

  4. That's right, the rear outside storage is typically referred to as the basement around here (the compartment above the nightstand is the attic). There's no hatch under the matt, but if you remove it or pull it back you'll see a cutout in the floor that exposes some plumbing at the rear corner. With some work, and a screwdriver, you can also remove the floor from the basement to get full access to all the plumbing underneath. I think if you raise the pressure, you'll have a lot more water coming out the weeps.

  5. With it getting dark, you may want to go back to the valve mode you were in for the past ten days, and disconnect from city water. You'll sleep much better I suspect. I have to agree with both KountryKamper and Overland that you have a pipe or fitting leak and the water you are seeing leaking out of the bottom of the trailer weep holes is the low point and result. Good thing you were only at 20 PSI else wise things would have developed MUCH quicker. :-)

  6. Thank you Russell for your response. I’ve learned a lot through the Ollie forum and this is the first inquiry/comment I’ve made. Yes, you all are super helpful. We are on “the bubble” so to speak. Trying to make informed decisions. We are minimalists for the most part. We’ve been RVing half time for about five years so we have some experience. With that said, I’m not one to cut it too close with regard to tow vehicle capabilities. I was thinking we would have a GTW of about 5600 lbs. to 6000 lbs. with an Elite II. And so we’re trying to evaluate if the 7200 lb. towing capacity of our Jeep would be recommended. I’m mostly concerned about the drivetrain. Don’t want to destroy a nice vehicle! Thanks again for your considered opinions!!

  7. Thank you John for taking the time to respond. There are just the two of us. We had Escapees evaluate our present towing weights and we carry approximately 1000 lbs. of contents including 25 gal. of fresh water [if that tank is full]. I’ll have to research the axle ratio as you have suggested. We would only be interested in the Elite II. We are pleased with our 17’ Casita but are attracted to the additional interior space the Elite II would offer, the double axle and suspension and the build quality of course.
