  1. It’s very nice. Right across the highway from a new, upscale shopping center but you wouldn’t know it. It’s quiet with nice hiking trails. This was our site: Our site here at Lost Dutchman State Park near Phoenix. Also nice.

  2. Recently bought a new to me 2017 Legacy Elite II. We have a 2015 Casita Independence Deluxe with all the bells and whistles and will be posting that for sale soon. It is in excellent shape. Without a through orientation I have been getting use to my new trailer the old fashion way, reading the manual. I am looking forward to learning from others owners and I am sure I will have lots of simple questions.

  3. Howdy everyone, My husband (Rankin) and I have been sailing for about 16 years then sold the boat in New Zealand (2017) bought a big fifth wheel which we decided wasn't the way to go, so we sold it then we purchased the Ollie which we will pick up on January 29, 2020. We are so very excited, and can't wait to be on the road again. We have joined the Facebook group, have been going through all the videos and are also looking at the forum. Thank you all for contributing and sharing your knowledge. We truly appreciate it. I still have tons of questions, but will first search the forums more before posting any questions. Y'all take care, safe travels on the road and look forward to meeting you perhaps in May 2020 at the Oliver Rally.

  4. "Any thoughts?" I believe that testing is almost always a good thing. Better to test now when you are not under any pressure and find out what works and what doesn't. However, given the 18 amp reading you cite and having everything that you need work with the one generator, then I agree - why carry around the second generator. This is particularly so given that one would normally run the fridge on propane since it is a much more efficient way to operate the fridge thereby reducing the electrical draw even further. Bill

  5. Susan, you might also check out this thread. There are a lot of good posts there about what people carry and how they store it all.

  7. Years ago, I compromised in setting up our closet. We wanted more shelves, but we often have a need to hang some clothes, as well. I bought a Skubb hanging organizer, and a bunch of fabric skubb boxes at IKEA. It takes up maybe a third of the hanging space in the closet, and I can roll tshirts, underwear, etc. and keep the in the fabric boxes on the fabric "shelves." Works pretty well. I also use larger Skubb boxes in the overhead cabinets to corrall lightweight items ( plastic containers, cracker boxes, etc) to keep them from shifting around. The fabric "boxes" are light, collapsible, and easily removed and rearranged.

  8. I don’t have an Atwood, but the rapid cycling maybe due to a combustion air blockage - if the “sail switch” doesn’t activate, with adequate airflow, then the board will not let the ignitor operate. Get a strong light and see if there is any obvious blockage in either outside port. Check with your hand to see if there is any air flowing out the exhaust port. Other possibilities are a failed part- a bad sail switch, control board or ignitor. This is assuming that there is adequate 12 volt dc power to the furnace; very low voltage will affect things. Lots of possibilities .... unfortunately. Good luck. John Davies Spokane WA

  9. Tunnels, ferries and refueling your TV are the places to be concerned about. The first two are a moderate risk if there is an accident and gas is released into a confined space. Kaboom! For a short tunnel at high speed, I would never shutoff the bottles. For a long slow one, certainly. WA State Ferries, the big ones, require you to use EPA approved cans for flammable liquids (only ten gallons allowed) and you must turn off your permanently mounted RV propane supply (regardless of tank size), and flag the regulator so that it is obvious to an onlooker that they have been secured. An dock attendant will ask you and visually check for a flag. I have never seen one actually touch a valve knob. I use a piece of red surveyors tape, dangling out the access hole. The little ferries here, on remote lake crossings, have the signs but nobody ever checks. It is a lot more casual. When refueling, there is a very small risk that a pilot light could ignite spilled gas vapors. The fridge presents the biggest risk since it is closer to your TV. Use common sense, stay at the pump and don’t spill fuel; I think you are a lot more likely to ignite fumes with static discharge than from a hidden pilot flame fifteen feet away.... I have two jerry cans on my rear rack, I remove them and fill them carefully at the pump, so if there should be an accident it would not immediately envelope the trailer. Just think about what you are doing and don’t screw up. Millions of RVers keep the propane on when traveling and fireballs are not that common, if you are in a serious wreck you probably have lots worse things to be concerned about. Everyone has different risk tolerance, do what makes you feel comfortable. John Davies Spokane WA

  10. Blue Ridge Parkway, Rockfish Gap VA to Cherokee NC, April 2019 Great drive with lots of scenic views and very little traffic this time of year. Almost all of the on-parkway visitor centers and campgrounds were still closed, but we had no problem finding campgrounds just off-parkway. Visibility is greatly reduced when the fog and/or rain rolls in, but still interesting. 11. While technically not cubbies, I did find these little silicone pockets extremely handy on our recent family reunion trip. They stayed in place for 14 days, nearly 3000 miles, 1 COE, 1 NP, 7 SP campgrounds and held a variety of odds and ends. They weren’t cheap at $10 a piece on close out at Bed Bath & Beyond, so I bought one and went home to try it out. I liked it so much that I went back and bought the other 5. So we have 4 white ones in the cabin area and 2 grey ones in the bath. And then I stumbled across a different brand at Kohl’s that holds a beer can and we used it for a bottle of water in the bath to rinse after brushing our teeth. Mike

  12. Yesterday I stayed one night at my favorite COE campground, Hunters Campground on Lake Roosevelt, in northeast WA. Cost was $9 with the Geezer Pass. I got site 22 which is one of half a dozen right along the beach. The place was practically deserted, due to chilly temps, school in session and a huge Spokane fun run scheduled for Sunday (the Lilac Bloomsday Run) which has kept a lot of folks near town. Up to 60,000 folks will run, walk or roll in a chair, not me, but my wife has entered..... https://www.nps.gov/laro/planyourvisit/cg-hunters.htm I found another use for the Stone Stomper. It keeps the doghouse off the ground. John Davies Spokane WA
