  1. For those of you in Florida, or traveling through, Truma opened a corporate sales and service office in Lakeland, just a few minutes off of I-4. (That's about halfway between Tampa and Orlando.) I spoke to the manager there a few months ago when I was looking into their new furnace. Sherry

  2. It also appears that the standard hot water propane/electric hot water heater is easier to have serviced opposed to searching for a Truma dealer/technician should a problem arise. All interesting comments, thoughts and feedback very much appreciated. Thank you.

  4. If you search the forum there was a discussion on this issue. I almost opted for the Truma. For those who have it they love it. For many years of rving the standard 6Gal worked great no problems. Plenty of hot water for two. I keep mine on elec setting then when its shower time i use the propane setting never ran out of hot water yet. Plus the cost of the Truma option, you can replace the standard water heater with another new one and still be ahead of the game.

  5. I have not seen an Oliver awning that didn't slope some, at least on the newer ones that don't have the support poles. I purchase the Green Elephant Tent Poles form Amazon for $49.00. They do telescope way down and come with a bag for storage, plus two different top post for different uses. I did drill a small hole in each end of the awing and put in a rubber grommet with a 1/4" hole in the center, just the correct size for the GE Poles to fit into. These poles allow you the level your awing and also help stabilize your awning in the wind, they can also be staked if needed. I'm totally happy with the results and have showed this mode to other Oliver owners at rallies and camp grounds. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=green+elephant+telescoping+tarp+poles+set+of+2&ref=nb_sb_noss trainman

  6. After having had a Pex Elbow fail while camped in the middle of nowhere (details HERE in an earlier Sharkbite thread), I recommend all owners get Pex repair parts and tools in advance. After my experience I suggested a crimping tool with clamps ($26.99), and some brass elbows ($8.99) from Amazon. Also some 3 foot segments of Pex tubing from any hardware store; Amazon seems to sell Pex in 50 or 100 foot rolls. I also keep my Pex stuff in the water pump compartment.

  7. Really? My kitchen sink has no such vent. It drains poorly if the grey valve is closed (airlocks), plus it may burp noxious gases into the cabin through the trap during severe elevation changes. Plus my grey tank will drain slowly if the valve is closed and the kitchen sink is stoppered, since the big roof vent up front is not able to operate. There is a trap under the shower drain. All three traps must not be allowed to dry out through evaporation, or odors will get past those points. Just like in your home, they are there to retain water and keep the sewer pipe gases isolated from the air inside the dwelling space. Treating the grey tank (and the traps, during storage) with a deodorizer helps to stop the smells. As does being very picky about what you let go down into the tank. John Davies Spokane WA

  8. There are aftermarket adaptors available for the zamp ports, so that you can use most other connector types with their "proprietary " port. (Meaning, the Zamp suitcase panels are plug and play, but an adaptor plug makes other less expensive panels just as simple to connect.) Your friend is right. Portable solar is great. Allows us to park in the shade, and still keep the batteries charged. I don't know which controller Oliver is installing, so yes, you should ask how many additional watts you can have in portable solar. The controller needs to be sized big enough for all the power coming from the combined rooftop and portable solar. Edited to add: Most suitcase solar packages come with their own separate controller, which feeds directly to your batteries through Oliver's prewired Zamp port and wiring, so then you don't need to worry about the capacity of your onboard controller. We did ours a bit differently... ( of course. 🙃) Sherry

  9. Oliver service once again was great. I did have a blown shock that was replaced, vent fan replaced and bathroom mirror was replaced. The mirror was flaking. I did pay to have wheel bearing repacked. I have been told that service will move to a another building as well possibly in the spring.

  10. It's normal to find that at the first cleaning, check it every few months, if debris still keeps appearing, then you should worry a little. I expect it will clear up on its own. Probably the guy who drilled your tank was not real careful about the chips. I would have used a shop vac while drilling, to catch most of the shreds.... or sucked them out of the hole afterwards.
