  1. John, I took all three of my jacks apart about six months after I purchased our 2017 LEII. I took mine apart because one jack was (is) very loud running in either direction. The grease used in the gearboxes in mine is a white lithium type. I didn’t think there was quite enough used so, I ordered a can of white lithium and added much more. What was factory installed was soft but just skimpy IMHO. The extra grease sadly didn’t change the sound so I’m no longer concerned that the gears may be running dry.

  2. I wanted to share that the outside courtesy (puddle) lights that Mossey recommended. They are a perfect fit. I have attached some before and after pics. Thanks Mossey! -Walter

  4. These are pretty amazing and the $49 Prime price for a pair is fine. At 6500 lumens (a bright 100 watt "equivalent" LED is around 1500) they are way too bright, painfully bright, for a regular garage ceiling, but when placed up high they do a great job without being so bright that you have to wear a ball cap. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KRJ6VWL?tag=camelproducts-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1&language=en_US I had two in my 10 ft tall garage for four months and moved them to the 16 ft RV bay, they are perfect in that much larger space. I ordered another pair to add there. I haven't had any problems with mine so far, they do not interfere with the garage door openers, but that is a possibility with cheap LEDs. I would not put one close to an opener unit, or just plan on having the lights switched off if there are transmitter issues. At this price you could order an extra box and keep it for spares, just in case one light fails. Highly recommended, but only for a tall ceiling! John Davies Spokane WA

  5. As above, but I'd throw a coat of wax on that roof. We do ours twice a year.

  7. Well, I'm going to start spring cleaning and checkup on the camper tomorrow. I'm going to be ready to go, when we can. 😃

  8. I'd just do a thorough cleaning and check for any caulking that may be deteriorated. You might also take off the AC cover to see if there are leaves or anything that needs to be cleaned out.

  9. That is great to hear. We also have a Tundra and will pick up our E2 some time in June. I'm buying an Anderson from another Oliver owner who no longer needs it and will probably convert it to the larger ball. As to a new Tundra, I'm waiting to see what late 2021 brings with the next generation. Twin turbo V6 I hear, although I really like the Lexus designed 5.7 V8 we have now.

  10. Once the Texas State Parks open for campers we will be there, probably just the local parks until this virus situation gets an improvement. We were thinking about heading to southern Colorado and NE Arizona (Payson area) in July and early August. I think Alabama is on the calendar for September. We’ll probably do some Midwest travel before/after the rally. I’m hopeful all this will be possible! Mike

  11. I pull an E2 with a 2016 tundra and have done so comfortably for about 10,000 mi. I have pulled multiple trips to the CO mountains without issue. I carry a generator, fuel cans, a loaded cooler, and tools in the truck bed. I fill up my water tank and don’t use an Anderson hitch. I occasionally do 70-75mph on the interstate and so far have never experienced trailer sway on this rig. The current incentives are causing me to toy with the idea of getting a new truck. Even though Fords and Chevys have a few more whistles and bells, At this point I will probably replace my tundra with a newer one just because of how well the truck pulls the trailer.

  12. Last fall we had a condensation issue with the fan that caused the lid drive motor to open and close on it’s own without use doing anything. I pulled the fuse and after we returned home I removed the circuit board and took care of any water issues with all electrical parts. The fan has been working correctly since then until last weekend. After removing the circuit board, I ran a bench test on all of it's functions, I discovered the lid drive motor circuit was putting out a constant close signal. Because of this constant close signal that is why the motors gear assembly broke, it just kept trying to close the lid. Since we have had the trailer almost 5 years I just order a complete new unit from Camping World. I will salvage all of the old parts that are worth keeping.

  13. I used Redline CV-2 grease. It should flow better than the thick OEM glop. This big syringe made it easy to inject grease where I wanted it. EDIT: Redline CV-2 Magic Grease Big syringe Fill up the lower case. Be sure to get grease under the big driven gear: Fully surround the two upper bearings. There is no need to fill the entire upper cavity. I added a small amount of black silicone RTV sealer to the torn area of the gasket. Reassemble the gearbox. Clean the old grease from the slotted coupler and add some new: Reinstall the head unit to the tube. Make sure the pin engages the slot! Secure the three Allen screws, connect the wire and secure it with black nylon ties. Function check the jack. I was disappointed to discover that there was no change in the sound. level..... darn it. 14. Here is the inside lower part. The grease is not contaminated by water entry, but it has completely vanished from the gear teeth where it is most needed. This is the top portion. There is not nearly enough grease around the main shaft bearing, water could enter here. Note the black streaks and speckles. That is metal contamination from the gears.: The grease is so thick that it will support a small screwdriver: Because the grease looked so bad I decided to remove as much as I could rather than just adding more.... I wiped out most of it with paper towels, then used brake cleaner to flush the rest. I was careful not to get any down into the motor. I blew the parts dry with compressed air. The plastic parts do not appear to have been affected by the solvent. I was sure to get as much out around the lower drive shaft as possible, I did not remove the cross pin. I tried to work around the gasket but it tore: I moved the gearbox to my bench vise to hold it steady for reassembly: John Davies Spokane WA

  15. Newer Honda models have a three position shutoff switch that allow you to shutoff the fuel and not the ignition. Probably not a popular opinion, but I’m going on a no China campaign (like the Champion Honda knockoffs). Not achievable in the short term, but what has been unleashed on the world economy by the Chinese is unconscionable. I work for the airlines and we are being very quickly decimated. If you think we brought this on ourselves I will respectfully disagree.

  16. Pin grease galleys are installed on the horizontal plane for the pins/bushings to take grease easily. One of the bronze bushings was still a little tight and had to take some weight off of that pin with Ollie's jack for it to take grease. After a few thousand miles of wear on the bushings, no longer need to use the jack for the pin to take grease. We're ready to go camping soon, too!!!!!!!!
