  1. For what it’s worth there are quite a few Ollie owners that travel with dogs. @ScubaRx even travels with both a dog and a small horse and they seem to get along fine.

  2. I think that’s a good idea. I painted the back of our attic cabinet door black, since I had added some electronics in there and the lights from that were too bright. From the front it has a matte black look, almost like a chalkboard. I didn't like it at first but it quickly grew on me. I’ve thought about trying white or silver paint just to see. I could see doing them in a color to match the interior color scheme or even doing each one a different color if that’s your thing. If you’re creative, there are all kinds of possibilities. I’d recommend covering the paint with some shelf liner or vinyl to keep it from getting scratched from behind. I know you don’t want black but here’s a shot of what it looks like so that you can see the matte finish - By the way, I actually did it twice, for reasons I can’t remember, but I was able to take the paint off and redo it with acetone without damaging the plastic. So keep that in mind if you want to experiment. Here’s a thread with a bit more info about it -

  3. ShallowGal has two large labradoodles plus a good sized husband and when they picked up their Ollie they immediately left on a multi-month trip across the USA to Alaska and then back down to Florida. Last I heard all of them are still in one piece and very happy with each other - including the Oliver. Bill

  4. Chuck, I don't know what video you mean. I solved this by getting a hose with quick connect on one end and a regulator that connects to a 20 lb propane tank on the other end. This adapter is not designed for the small, disposable, propane bottles. I bought the adapter hose for $26, but it is currently listed for $42, so you might want to follow it on camelcamelcamel.

  5. You won't meet a nicer person than Chuck Stovall. He kindly showed Cary and me his Ollie this morning. Cary is concerned that it might be too small for us and our two midsize dogs. And all that keeps popping into my head is the beautiful belly of that trailer --- the craftsmanship, the welds, support structure. The clean lines and functionality. Hmmm..... We will figure this out. Thank you.

  6. Hi all -- hope you are all safe and as gainfully employed as you want to be. I'd been toying with adding some stick-on tiles as a backsplash to both kitchen and bathroom areas. Finally saw a couple of different applications in an Oliver and decided I'd give it a go. Ordered these: https://smile.amazon.com/LONGKING-Backsplash-Stickers-Talavera-Mexican/dp/B07DR8F44K/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=Peel+and+Stick+Backsplash+Tile+Stickers%2C+Gray+Talavera+Mexican+Tiles&qid=1588613058&s=home-garden&sr=1-1 --- then $30 and since I can't be out camping, decided to at least work in the Oliver. One package of 10 tiles was more than enough, even with one square (3x3 tiles; about 1 square foot) bunged up and pulled off. The tiles are pretty sticky, but can come off if needed but I suspect will stay stuck pretty well.

  7. We have all mirrors and like it. I’m surprised they don’t offer it anymore.

  8. Reflections haven’t been an issue. Lots of sun in south Texas. It’s also fine at night. The screen is glossy, but doesn’t seem to reflect To the driver.

  9. I tried just doing the black vinyl but it didn't look great from the front. The back was smooth, but the front still looked like millions of bubbles trapped under the vinyl.

  10. White or silver vinyl or contact paper on the backs is one thing we looked at doing. The Oliver I toured had all mirror finish, which I liked - but it wasn't available. We want to keep it bright but keep the cleaner aesthetic.

  11. We are two + one 35-40lbs dog. There is plenty of room for the dog on the floor bed she has, either dinette cushion, we use a "full" size topper on the "king" bed, so plenty of room for her beside that too. No matter where we get her to stay as we sleep, we'll wake up with her in the middle of us. During the day, she collects all the pillows and sleeps on top of them. The only problem we've run into with two is the ruckus of playing, which is too much for the Oliver or a 2500 SqFt house if they don't get yard/outside time first. Two dogs is not double the mischief, it's mischief squared. That clean underside has a side benefit that has the wife an Oliver believer: no mice can get up in it.

  12. The 12” display is nice. We’ve grown to really like it. I usually split it and have my iPhone (CarPlay) on top with a map and media on the bottom. The Nav that came with it is useless, out of date on day 1. We didn’t want the sunroof and wouldn’t get it again but it’s been nice on occasion. Mike

  13. I looked at special ordering and was in that process before the shutdown. For the Rams it was about 15% off MSRP - but I think it was that+any extra rebates that come out between order and delivery. I emailed them and it was pretty easy. I didn't get any calls from salespeople. For my RAM build, I went on ramtrucks.com and built to my spec, saved the last page as a PDF and emailed it to them. The no fancy stereo thing is the hard part on RAM, as the 12" doesn't add any functionality and seems more buggy, but many of the ones on lots have them. Sunroof is the same (and I ended up with one on my Sierra unfortunately). The PW looks like fun, but for the real trails around here a 60" or even 50" SxS lthat fits between the trees and blackberry bushes much better than the shiny paint on a new truck. 10+" of travel, and a much tighter turning radius for the switchbacks on some logging roads. Now I have enough payload to carry one on the bed along with the Oliver on the bumper...

  14. You could try painting the back side of the door white it will still have the frosted look from the front.

  15. Great info in this thread. Thanks all! Anyone have any thoughts re: I like to use my Weber Q1200 and my CampChef Fire pit at home AND when I'm camping with the Ollie. Looks like the fire pit could be just a matter of swapping out the hoses each time from the original that has the regulator on the bottle end to a quick connect hose. The Weber, having the regulator at the stove end... Would love to hear thots of anyone who's done this. Thanks in advance. I should have read Patriot's post above. The video shows exactly how to set up the Weber Q for both uses. Thanks!

  16. https://www.carefreeofcolorado.com/products/hd-awning-stabilizr.html I bought these. They work well. I have the manual awning. For use with the automatic retracting I think you have to turn the sensor off.

  17. If you want something a little less harsh on the nose than Goof Off, try WD-40. It's a good adhesive remover and then can easily be cleaned up with denatured alcohol or even Simple Green.

  18. I've had them come loose but not fall off as yours did. After tightening those three or four times I re-assembled them with a couple of drops of Locktite (blue) on each bolt. They have not come loose since. Bill p.s. be careful to not overtighten and see if you can find that washer. The plastic can crack if you overtighten.
