  2. Ray & Susan - After a quick "search" it appears that you are still searching for the "bookmark solution". The former thread that I was thinking about was actually started by you - https://olivertraveltrailers.com/forums/topic/4189-bookmarks/?tab=comments#comment-41671 Hope this helps! Bill p.s. Jim - Congrates! As I typed that reply the irony did strike me but I was in such a rush at that point I really didn't think that anyone would pick up on it.

  3. All of the above + weight of the vehicle off road and the quietness! After 3 diesels, I’m really enjoying my 3/4 ton gasser. I’m sure there are hills where I will slow down. But, what do I care, it’s Saturday! (Oblique reference to another ongoing thread).

  4. Our third taillight has had its issues over the 13 years, requiring resealing every 3 years or so. This year, it developed some hairline cracks, as well. We decided to remove and replace the lens. Ours was held mostly by (probably 4200) adhesive, and a few dabs of epoxy. The adhesive loosened with a heatgun on low in the attic, and a plastic scraper. The epoxy was mostly mechanical, plus heat. And not fun. We broke the lens in several places removing it. We installed the new lens from Oliver with a bed of grey butyl tape. Since that's not truly an adhesive, Paul added 6 small stainless screws. We felt pretty comfortable with the addition of the screws, since butyl is pretty much self-healin, self-sealing. After a couple days for the butyl to rest, he applied loctite marine to the exposed edge of the trimmed butyl, to protect it from uv and dirt . Today, we added a lip of eze rv gutter on the eyebrow, for good measure, extending beyond the length of the bottom of the trapezoid lens. I can't tell you for another 5 or 6 years if this is a better solution, but I'll be able to tell sooner if it fails. We'll see. We're both very happy with tried and true old school butyl as window and hatch bedding.

  5. Hi! We are Benjamin & Alexandra from Chicago Illinois, and we just picked up our Legacy Elite about a month ago. So far we've enjoyed just all the nights in our Ollie before we put it to bed for the cold & snowy winter! We've both been hiking, canoeing, cycling and camping since forever under tarps, in tents and in a pop-up trailer. This is our first foray into a hard-sided camper with creature comforts so that's something of a new experience. Most of our camping has been in the Sunset Lakes Resort, Chillicothe and several other places in southern Illinois. We are expecting to revisit some old favorites and also to begin ranging further afield once spring arrives.

  6. I have a refrigerator smoker painted duck colors with a magnetic Duck emblem on the front. I live in beaver territory, and a few of my friends gave me a hard time about it. So, I put a beaver emblem on the back end of the smoker. I told my friends, if the ducks ever lost I would put the beaver emblem on the front. Well, The front now has the beaver emblem on the front until our next matchup. Hope your trip is going well, Bob

  8. Ray & Susan - I don't know if this would help your organization but: If I want to quickly "save" a topic for future reference, sometimes I will simply right click on the topic, then click on "save as", then click on the "folder" I want to save it in (or create a new folder under my "Oliver" section, and finally, change the "save as" name if appropriate. Every now and then I will go into these folders and sort things a bit better in the event I didn't have the time to do this on the spur of the moment - i.e. - put mods into mods, campsites into camping, etc. Bill

  9. Has anyone reported this issue using the XC 2000 inverter and display panel? The internals of the inverter are so similar to that of the XC 3000 that it makes me think the issue might be specific to wiring differences between the lithium and non-lithium configurations. This theory obviously goes out the window when someone using the XC 2000 reports the issue.

  10. We opted for the standard awning. I'm impressed with how robust it is, compared the the pathetic Carefree awning we had on our camper van.

  12. You could follow the topics, if not too many. You can see your followed topics in your profile, I think.

  14. Well I wouldn't get it just for the ability to use it instead of a generator but I don't dismiss the actual benefits of the hybrid tech it uses out of hand. I just saw MPG estimates for the truck that were something like 26/25 in 2WD and 24/24 in 4WD which is a nice improvement versus their similarly powered non-hybrid gas engine systems (and yes there's a cost for this both in the purchase price and down the road as well but there are costs of burning more gas that we don't have to directly bear in the price of the gas also...). Yes, regenerative braking and so forth add complexity so it doesn't follow the KISS principle but frankly my take is that none of the vehicles I've had are true KISS systems since I sold my '67 VW Beetle. 😜

  18. One really helpful thing for members who are starting a new thread is to give it a very descriptive title in say eight or ten words. Simply calling it “Pics” Or “My mods” is bad. It doesn’t contain any information. That way when it is saved or searched for it actually means something. This bugs the heck out of me when I am browsing local Craigslist classifieds and the title is completely flaky, like “Utility trailer for sale” in a Trailer For Sale forum. John Davies Spokane WA
