  1. I have plenty of genuine Oliver Fiberglass panel that is the perfect thickness that I cut from our propane cover during my mod to create storage behind the propane tanks. If anyone else wants/needs a set let me know via PM.

  2. I know many of us are in a mood to say "good riddance" to much of what 2020 brought, but I'd like to say, I'm thankful for many things that did happen this year. Early in the year, my nephew married one of the sweetest young women I've ever met. Much of my family was here. I'm really thankful my nephew and his bride chose a February date for their wedding. It's the last time in 2020 that joy and hugs abounded, and so much family could gather. During our more quiet, more isolated time, since March, we've completed dozens of projects we'd been postponing. And, of course, made new lists. I'm studying yet another language, hoping to be able to speak to some of Paul's cousins when they (hopefully) can visit next year from Italy, without resorting to Google translate on my phone. I've renewed several old friendships over text and phone, as we check in with each other. Most especially, I've reunited with a cousin who was my BFF as a little girl, but we grew apart. We speak often, now. The shared experiences of today have brought renewed memories of our shared childhood experiences. I'm thankful that my mom, with all her health issues, has done well so far, with the help of all my siblings, and great doctors . I'm thankful that the younger members of our family who still work are all employed, happy, and healthy. And the few who did get covid, survived and are back on their feet. And, I'm thankful for my neighborhood, where we can talk over the fences, or on patios, share stories (and eggs, sugar, etc.), and never feel alone in quarantine times. Not to ever make light of this strange year, or minimize the tragedies. I lost one cousin, and there was only a small, immediate family only funeral. For those of you who have lost loved ones, I offer my heartfelt sympathies. I know what loss feels like, and this year, without our customary practices, it's especially and uniquely difficult. Not to be able to travel, and hug my aunt and hold her, and comfort her in her time of loss, was very difficult for me, and for my mom, her sister. In these difficult and very different times, I'd also like to say thank you for the community here. Every morning, I look forward to seeing friends here, as well. I wish you a very happy, and healthy, new year in 2021. Sherry

  3. See attached picture of how I store our Rock Tamer Mud Flaps when we don’t have them installed on our TV. I bought a very inexpensive bike rack mount that is sold at Home Depot or Lowe’s. I mounted on the header above our basement window. I removed the Andersen components to lessen the weight.

  4. You didn’t mention it, so I guess Santa Paul didn’t figure it out yet. 🤔 Mossey

  5. I know where the solar charger disconnect switch is; but the main battery disconnect? And the inverter/charger? Will disconnecting all of these cause the LP/CO monitor to alarm? Also, is there a chart for %SOC to voltage conversion? There are so many questions; hard to think of them all during the walk-through. Just the realization that it is actually "your Oliver" is overwhelming!

  6. The only reason to use Oliver fiberglass plugs is to color match. You can see the color through the grill, for me it’s just aesthetics. Like I said, I was looking at other options but if some nice white fiberglass plugs can do the job, why not? I’m not removing the grills and have no intention of replacing the door. As far as insulation, I’m undecided. I might use what I have on hand or get something different, just haven’t had time to look. It’s been a busy few days getting to where I am now. Mike

  7. Yes, get the LifeBlue batteries to 50% and then use the various disconnects to isolate the battery from any parasitic drains or charges. There are 3 disconnects, the solar charger to the batteries, the inverter/charger to the batteries and the main battery disconnect. Mcb also learned from LifeBlue that the batteries should be charged to 100% first to reset them, then discharge to 50% and disconnect as described. The battery voltages should still be monitored and if they drop below 13.0 V the battery should be recharged as needed.

  8. Bill, I believe it is sufficient. The weight rating was 50lbs. Without the Andersen hitch, it is within that range. David

  9. Mike, I recommend that you plug those vent holes I see peeking through the bottom or you battery tray. I can cut you some fiberglass plugs the right thickness to fit them if you like. Just drop them into the backside of the door and glue with some two-part epoxy. I also recommend insulating the inside of the door with some closed cell foam. I bought one of these at Dicks Sporting Goods. They are exactly the right thickness to fit the inside of the battery hatch. There is enough to insulate the basement hatch also. I used contact cement to attach. Just make yourself a pattern out of heavy construction paper or cardboard and cut to fit.

  10. Well, I hate to disappoint you, but their batteries don't have any connection to the outside world other than a voltage reading. You can get a midpoint voltage reading off the BMV but that'll be the best you can do. One of the problems with LFPs right now is that no one seems to offer a package that has everything, regardless how much you pay. Battleborn has great protection circuitry, a heated option, warranty, and the fewest limits on what you can do with them (turn them sideways, charge in colder temps, etc.). But they're big and pretty much a black box as far as knowing what's going on inside. Victron has the best connectivity and data, the best service, are compact, probably bulletproof, but they're more expensive, don't have as good a warranty, can't be changed beneath 40°, and lack anything but the most basic protection. LifeBlue seems to have most all the features, but with questionable service and iffy quality. Other brands are similar, some look promising but can't be bought retail, etc. So, pick your poison. After this problem, I was giving some thought to swapping out with Victrons - all of this would have been obvious with their software. But their lack of a protection circuit and a oddly high charging temp limit is a problem. Maybe after seeing NCeagle's temperature data, and some modifications to my battery box, I'll reconsider. But I just keep imagining that one cold night I forget and plug them in.

  11. 2020 was a mixed bag. We were happy to welcome a granddaughter, our 4th grandkid. Both of our kids and their families were able to work through the COVID thing and actually do very well. We did have to cancel a couple of our camping trips due to family health issues that kept us close to home and the hospital to assist and support. Then the discovery that my 4 old AGM’s were in worse shape than I thought which is going to delay our January trip a week or so. Bottom line - we’re looking forward to 2021 and getting back on the road! Happy New Year everyone!! Mike and Carol
