  1. After a rather lengthy scouring of the internet and Ford forums I found a small business in Kansas that makes custom locking diesel fuel caps crafted out of billet aluminum. They make them for 2500 Rams as well. I called the phone number on the fuel cap I saw on a members post in a Ford forum and placed my order for a cap and two keys. This company is small and do not advertise on line. They take over the phone orders only or at least they did for me. I am not that concerned about someone stealing diesel fuel, rather the random act of vandalism of fuel contamination which will destroy most engines costing thousands to repair or replace. The machined aluminum cap has heft to it and very well made and seals excellent and locks on strong to the tank lip. If you loose the key, you had better have a backup key. To my knowledge they only produce locking caps for diesel fuel vehicles. The gal that I placed my order with at BEM auto name is Nicole. Very nice and very professional and I would not hesitate to do business with her again. Like anything well made it does come at a cost - 1 cap, 2 keys (I added a spare) $67.00 shipped to my door in NC. I inquired about a locking DEF cap as well and they maybe producing those in the near future for the F250, I am on the list for a DEF cap if and when they produce one. They only ship UPS. If your interested in ordering or have further questions give them a call and naturally have year make and model of your handy. Made in the 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 Happy Camping! Here are a few photos- keys-

  2. I believe he's suggesting that since you don't tow with a diesel (as many of us do) you don't technically have a dog in this race.

  4. I switched ours from white to black. Here’s the before and after pics and also the info for Pelland for the part number. But Oliver may have changed window suppliers over the years so you’ll have to confirm the right gasket for yours. https://www.pellandent.com/Half-Inch-Glass-Vinyl-Seal

  5. I have a 2020 RAM 1500 EcoDiesel. I contacted BEM at the number on Patriot's invoice, and was told that BEM sells their locking fuel and DEF caps through Genosgarage.com. I just placed an online order for a locking fuel cap and locking DEF cap at Genosgarage.com. I called Genos to ask about keys, and was told that the keys are the same for both the fuel and DEF caps, with each cap coming with two keys. The fuel cap was $59.95, and DEF cap was $49.00, before tax and shipping. Both products are currently backordered, with expected delivery in early April.

  7. Love, love our microwave convection oven, I could not even imagine buying a new or used Ollie without one, not to mention the value it will bring at resale. Of course most options can be added by Oliver Service after the fact, but it’s costly. Just another view point.

  8. If using a water hose to the pump, be sure it is attached to an vacuum break (anti-syphon). I know of one seasonal, non sewer site, owner that thought they could by-pass the system. They ended up causing an algae bloom that shut down three sections of a campgrounds water system. Labor intensive, and costly, to correct. Don't be that guy!

  11. Galway Girl, In addition to dewdev's above post, you can get a specific build sheet from Dexter for your axles that show Dexter information for brakes, seals, bearings, and dimensional info. Here's where you find your axle serial number: https://www.dexteraxle.com/docs/default-source/default-document-library/light-duty-axle-identificationb27a839d2ba463c18d7aff64007a4014.pdf?sfvrsn=66dee048_0 Here's a sample axle build sheet for our Ollie. Most LE2 Ollies cannot use our axle information because Oliver ran out of 3500 pound axles while building our Ollie installing single axle Ollie 5200 pound axles.

  13. Depending on the contractors needs - those few that have dirt moving equipment go 3/4 route. Most all the landscapers have a 3/4 ton or larger, same for the concrete guys. The framers, electricians, and such - 1/2 ton for sure. The person not getting dirty - 1/2 ton top optioned...... Denali's, Limited, etc.. I would also believe - carry gen sets - as they are much simpler to get to the jobsite. At least around these parts.

  14. Maybe in your part of the country, but, around here, many, if not most contractors I know drive half-tons. Today's half-tons can tow the construction trailer to the jobsite, especially in my flat urban/suburban area. And, the trucks themselves are comfortable daily drivers. In my area, most of the few 2005 (or was it ) 6 to 2008 Chevy first gen half ton hybrids sold to contractors. Idling, they could run or charge power tools .

  16. Motion Industries - locations across the USA. Or any decent local bearing supply place. I have learned to stay off the internet in this area. You want bearings and races. They will not be $20 each. RB

  18. Good install job! Looks very similar to what I did a few years ago. Ours has operated flawlessly. It is very easy to open and close the blind without opening the door. The slider is accessible through the sliding panel for the door handle.

  19. FYI That particular unit operates at 1800 watts/ 120 VAC (15 amps!!!), so it should only be used on a shared 20 amp circuit (12 or 10 AWG wire), or at a minimum on its own 15 amp dedicated circuit (14 AWG wire), with its own 15A circuit breaker and NO other outlets. Even then, it might cause the breaker to nuisance trip. It would require rewiring the Ollie. Running one extra 12AWG cable to that location would not be a big deal, but replacing all the existing wires with a larger size would be, indeed! There are empty spots on the breaker panel, so it should be doable.... You should run this by Oliver Service, to get their advice and blessing. I suspect they will tell you to not do it. A typical large microwave is 1200 watts, a great BIG difference! BTW, it you want to use that Airfryer off the batteries and inverter, it will be a true Battery Killer. Be sure to get the lithium package, or alternatively make a big placard and tape it to the unit: "Shore Power Only!" John Davies Spokane WA

  20. Thanks much. The install is straightforward. I still have a few incomplete items like the Dometic tstat hookup and two small holes in the ceiling from the original cover - but I will install screws with white caps to fill. I will provide a more detailed write up when I get it all done.

  21. You can usually bring gelcoat back with fine rubbing compound, and buffing, waxing etc. Gelcoat isn't a paint, or a coating. It's fiberglass, without the "fiber", and sprayed onto the mold before the rest of the fiberglass is built up. The gelcoat on our trailer is marine grade, fairly thick, and you'd be surprised at what some buffing and waxing can do. Even when it looks chalky and tired.

  22. We just got back from a few weeks in Colorado and northern Arizona. The pandemic does make things less fun. We visited a couple of National Monuments outside of Flagstaff and masks were required, the visitors centers were closed to the public. If you wanted to purchase any kind of souvenir you had to visit an outdoor table and point to what you wanted and a ranger or volunteer would go inside and get it for you. We found ourselves not stopping to see certain things, just not as much fun. Hopefully our Lake Guntersville/TN/KY trip will be a little better. But, it was still good to get out on the road and away from this south TX heat for a while!

  23. This is great! I'm going to put the lithium charging worries aside and enjoy our RV travels 😄 All we need now is an Ollie . . . . . . We are selling our LTV Unity next week; will be three months without an RV - two of them the best camping weather! I tell myself, "that's ok" . . . . until this pandemic thing settles down, camping just isn't what it used to be.
