  2. When I was there for delivery, there were 19, all sold waiting for pickup. Mine was ready, on the lot, for more than 2 weeks prior to my delivery date.

  5. When BOB has time to look at the forum and post needless comments - all in the name of elucidation - and boredom. I moved Ollie out from its protective covering to do some trip readiness - Given the weather - I Suppose I could wash Ollie - rinsing is much easier and water conscious. Gonna make some lemonade - RB

  8. Thank you Mike and Carol, That looks like a great replacement. Being aluminum, that would give the crews a more solid mount than the plastic lens. Thank you for the info. By the way, Dan, a technician at Bargman.com went home last night and searched the web and found the distributor for the original lights at "Panther RV Products". Part # ITC6911-CH-6.5K RV LED Porch/Ramp Light-Chrome". Just in case anybody wants the original. Thanks for your help, everyone. My first time on the forum. Have to learn how to post photos. Oliver owners are the best. Thank you, Greg

  10. Thanks guys, Service confirmed they install on the rails next to and parallel to the center beam. they also confirmed 75-90lbs of torque, leaning toward 75. I’m probably over that now, but had slippage at 75. Given how good I’m getting at adjusting the brackets, I may give center rail a try, if I don’t have to mess with new chains. I’ll re-read the thread. Found via Google search. After jumping through way too many hoops to register an out of state trailer, I’m almost baselined. New tires on truck shortly and I’ll fine tune the WDH. While it pulled well with loose chains and just the friction sway control working on the way back from Georgia, today’s run for inspection and weighing was more stable with chains tight. 5450 trailer weight with about 540 on the tongue. Will see what loaded looks like downstream. thanks again to all.

  11. I removed my wheel centers. Makes it easier to check hub temperatures, torque wheel nuts without a long extension or adjust a spindle nut without removing the tire/wheel assembly after bearing service.

  12. Just as a data point. Texas out of state used trailer: Inspection ( only first time since under 7500 lbs) Weight Certificate Photos front and side Two state forms to be completed Title with signatures …will know if that’s enough later today. Some of this seems to be county specific.

  13. Welcome to the family. I too am awaiting a delivery in October. Just in time for next year's ski season. I highly recommend the Oliver University web page with all of its great content. Of course the experience and expertise in this forum is second to none. What an amazing Oliver family you will find here in these postings. Starting camping with a young family is the way to go. Some of our fondest family memories are our camping and skiing adventures together. Several years ago we de-emphasized all the Christmas presents for a ski vacation. The family was much happier with the ski vacations rather than a bunch of gifts they don't remember from one year to the next. Discussing our skiing and camping adventures is always a fun time together. All of our children and now grandchildren (who are old enough to enjoy the sport [that's 6/10]) now also ski/snowboard. This is one of our main motivations for a 4-season trailer. Most of the Pacific Northwest ski resorts reserve a portion of their parking for motorhomes and trailers. This makes it so convenient for Mom's with children to take hot chocolate breaks, lunches, and necessary naps. Parents and grandparent can also take turns skiing with their children / grandchildren who ski while the other tends the non-skiers. Spending the night there also ensures that we get an appropriate start to the next day with good night sleep and a good hot breakfast. With our delivery, we will have three trailers in the family. I took a long time researching trailers, and like yourself, found that Oliver trailers are of the highest quality and reputation. We hope to meet you on the road! Carl

  14. I washed my trailer in the rain before we left on this current trip. It actually worked quite well since the temps were in the 80’s. There was a thick coat of pollen all over that began to run in streaks as it rained. Now we’re in KY and it’s raining, so just sitting in the trailer answering needless comments with more needless comments. Mike

  15. Last fall I observed similar - most were sold awaiting pick-up, the rest - service related. It is all a matter of perspective - I get a kick out of the Oliver business model - they get paid upfront for most -if not all of the material and process costs, and have a very elastic pricing scheme. They raise prices, the wait list grows..... material planning - Covid excepted - is simple. Every manufacturer would love the model. As for units on site - a place I once worked built 1000 + units a day, shipped that on most days, and worked to a finished, but not shipped float of less than 20 - very hard to do. Now - I also did some work for another Asian manufacturer - who ended up with 18,000 units on site - not shippable - it was an amazing experience. Oliver with 20 or so, ha. RB

  18. Overland's rabbit hole is too deep for me, but keeps one on the lookout. Cam Cole - now I'm sure I saw him, or a facsimile - in St Louise one time, just outside the stadium during a Blues festival . Or perhaps it was the overload of libations clouding my view. RB

  20. I did this some months ago and don't remember exactly. During the sign up process, I was either was asked if I wanted to join a Party or after I signed up, I logged in and joined the party. Once you get to the screen that asks you the Party name you want to join, type in BestPhonePlans. It should automatically add you to the Party and when you go back into your account information, it will show your monthly rate at $25. I hope this helps! Andrew

  21. Thanks guys! I forgot to check back & this is how we installed the paper towel holder. John cut a 2 3/4" wide x 22" long x 3/4" thick board. He round it on the back corners so it would slide between the window facing and curve in the wall of the Oliver wall above the window. He painted it white. In our 2021 it is across from the kitchen sink in the dining nook. Best part about this installation is it's easily removable as there is no tape, screws, etc as the board simply slides in the space.

  22. I have no idea of the brand, but Oliver installed the same ones a few years back, when our original covers looked terrible. You could open a ticket. I'm sure they're not very expensive.

  23. Nice job! That looks great. I ordered a custom sized 4 x 12 Water Hog carpet, but they sent me a 4x16 because it was already made. It actually wasn't 4' wide, but it worked out better anyway. I haven't glued them down, so I can easily pull everything out to hose down when need be. It's not as fancy as the one piece, but we love having the carpet and this Waterhog is so durable. I think the color worked out great too!

  24. I do the fresh tank fill and city water ports. The boondocking port will drain on its own since there’s no check valve, so I just uncap that while I’m doing everything else to make sure nothings in there. If I’m putting up the trailer for the full winter then I’ll sanitize the fresh and grey tanks first. If you aren’t doing that, then start by draining all of your lines. You can do that by running your pump with a faucet open, or if you’ve got a Truma water heater, open its drain valve and you can pump the water out through there pretty quickly. Then blow out the fresh tank fill with your compressor using an attachment like either this or this. I think I use 80 psi, which I think should be fine for everything. Then open a faucet and do the city water port. I don’t move any of the plumbing valves from normal. Do each faucet separately - kitchen, bath, and outside shower - and be sure to do them with the valves turned to both hot and cold. You’ll get a fine mist of water for a while. I’ll repeat that two or three times for each faucet until they all seem clear. Before the last time I’ll run the pump for a bit to make sure it’s clear (take off the filter so that you know you aren’t pulling any new water in from the tank.) I’ll also open the truma drain while I do that just to make sure no water has settled in there. I don’t have a flush toilet so I’ve never looked up how that’s done. If you want to blow out the sink traps, you can by adding an air valve to a small plunger. I think it’s the same little adapter I linked to above, just screw it into the plunger where the handle would go. Just be sure that the hole goes all the way through, and cut one if not. It works really well, but if you do it that way, make sure you plug your drains or in the spring your trailer will smell like grey tank. I leave all the faucet valves open through the winter. If I’m on the road and it’s going to freeze, I’ll just blow out both ports quickly to get water out of the check valves. I think that’s it. I’m having to run through it in my head so I may have missed something.

  25. Follow-up on delivery: In case any are wondering the cost of lodging, RV sites, and fuel associated with delivery, here are expenses of our 5,000 mile (plus a little bit) trip from the Southern Oregon coast to Howenwald and home again (rounded to the nearest dollar): Fuel - $927 (diesel) Average mpg 14.30; mpg affected by driving conditions - windy and cold conditions on I-80 all the way from Utah through Nebraska on the trip to Tennessee. Average mpg towing on the trip home was 12-15. Speed also played a part in mpg since it seems to make a big difference in the 1-ton diesel fuel usage when driving at freeway speeds. Diesel prices High 3.56 (CA) Low 2.08 (NM) Lodging and RV sites - $986 Hotels on the trip to Hohenwald - $734 (8 nights) RV parks on trip home - $252 (6 nights) We took our own food; only ate out three times. Didn't count this as delivery cost since we have to eat anyway. Picked up some supplies - hitch, small tools, etc but all were non-consumable and not included in cost. Total cost of delivery $1,913 Value of adventure, priceless

  26. John, if I were buying today, I’d skip the all in one batteries and go with Victron batteries and their separate BMS. They’re still more expensive than Battleborn or LifeBlue, but not as much as when I bought. And the more experience I have with Victron the more I trust them. Not that I’m unhappy with Battleborn - but as a long term purchase, I think the additional reporting, support, and general peace of mind that you get with the Victrons is worth the extra.
