  1. If you have access to military campgrounds, this is our favorite. Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson. Especially during Heritage week. If they had a beach we would move there in a heartbeat.

  2. I know several out there use the smaller portable grills - usually on the Ollie propane system. As I have found Oliver Owners to be a crowd that keeps their stuff neat, tidy, and clean - I though I'd post this - my particular thing is keeping the Webber clean. I am sure many do this - but I line the interior with aluminum foil . About once a year - I replace it. We cook with the grill almost every day we are out in the Oliver, usually some kind of marinade on the meat - leaving a mess - the liner Makes clean up very easy. RB

  3. How do we know it’s raining? We just call the dog in and see if he’s wet.

  6. We know it's raining hard, when I cook indoors. Two days of rain. Yuck. But, the jambalaya was good.... Hopefully, tomorrow is a better day.

  7. Just used our Q1000 tonight. Between lining with foil and the foil drip pans, it isn’t difficult to keep the Weber clean. I do a thorough cleaning when we get home. Our grill is as good as new after five years of heavy use. Mike

  9. When BOB has time to look at the forum and post needless comments - all in the name of elucidation - and boredom. I moved Ollie out from its protective covering to do some trip readiness - Given the weather - I Suppose I could wash Ollie - rinsing is much easier and water conscious. Gonna make some lemonade - RB

  10. Someone withe years of RV and Ollie ownership told me of a brand of 4-season (fiberglass?) trailer made in Canada that is top notch. Might check into that? Sorry I cannot remember the brand name but someone here far more knowledgeable than I surely does, or a Google search would probably show it. I have a buyer coming to see mine Fri May 7 and have privately notified all who said they may come to see it; I am trying to be fair and courteous about this process as best I can. Ad on RVT expired and in my very limited experience (!) this forum is the best place to list an Ollie, if for no other reason than that people seriously looking into Ollies (new or used) seem to be here or sign up and research thoroughly via this official branded site. YMMV! 🙂

  12. I like this idea. I think I’ll do this the next time the wheels are off.

  13. I removed my wheel centers. Makes it easier to check hub temperatures, torque wheel nuts without a long extension or adjust a spindle nut without removing the tire/wheel assembly after bearing service.

  15. I washed my trailer in the rain before we left on this current trip. It actually worked quite well since the temps were in the 80’s. There was a thick coat of pollen all over that began to run in streaks as it rained. Now we’re in KY and it’s raining, so just sitting in the trailer answering needless comments with more needless comments. Mike

  16. In the resent past I have used Cycle trader and Craigs list to sell 2 motorcycles. I was inundated with scam phone calls and texts, both sold but less than 10% of interested buyers showed up for their appointment so be patient and don't go out of your way for anyone! You have a beauty full trailer for sale. Good luck

  17. Unfortunately building a “solo” trailer makes no market sense whatsoever, and in fiberglass it would be much more difficult than for a stick and staple one. If you want a solo Ollie you will have to make some mods yourself, you could start with an LE2 Twin and eliminate the street side bed, and add cargo tie down tracks there in place of the mattress. Oliver used to offer taller bed risers for more storage space underneath, but stopped doing that through lack of sales (I suspect). They still have the molds, maybe they could be persuaded to build and sell you a couple of them.... they would install easily with pop rivets. The LE2 has tons of built in overhead storage for one person, it can get a little tight for two. Eliminate the microwave and that gets you a big storage box. The “wasted space” does not have to stay wasted😬 John Davies Spokane WA.

  18. If you will be near Othello (Hwy 26) and want a delightful spot for the one or two nights, go SE about ten miles and check out Scooteney Reservor CG (Bureau of Reclamation). It is a popular fishing spot, with lots of wild birds, the campground is a GEM and gorgeous but no hookups and no reservations, but mid-day on a weekday you will find a spot. It has toilets and a dump station, and some shade. It was CLOSED all last year, we went by a couple of weeks ago and it was still closed, but a crew was furiously clearing downed branches and cutting the grass, so it may be open now. Call their contact number to find out. NW of Othello is the Columbia National WLR and also Potholes State Park, with lots of interesting scenery and birds. Going further north that way gets you into lots of Missoula Flood features (channeled scablands), Banks Lake and the Sun Lakes/ Dry Falls SP..... and eventually to the Grand Coulee Dam area. Palouse Falls is cool, but only if you are nearby, it is in the middle of nowhere and the CG is tents only. It swarms with people on holidays. If you wanted to venture into ID toward I90 there are lots more things to do, the ID state parks are very nice, Heyburn especially at the south end of Lake Coeur d'Alene, it has the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes rail trail, if you stay at their WEST CG you can easily bike to the long trestle that crosses the lake to Harrison, (ice cream, burgers) then on up the river valley as far as you can pedal... Shoot me a Message if you have specific questions, I will be camping this week but should have cell connectivity. John

  19. Speaking of rain.... we had quite a bit last night here in central KY. I had the awning out about 4 feet with the back side lower, or so I thought. Woke up this morning and the middle of the awning contained a swimming pool and the frame was twisted pretty bad. It was so heavy I couldn’t lift either support to drain so I used the crank to push up the middle until enough water was drained that I could lift the front support. Surprisingly, everything twisted back to its original shape, so disaster averted. I had the back about 6” lower than the front, but I guess we had so much rain in such a short period maybe it didn’t have enough time to drain and once it started pooling in the middle it didn’t matter. It wasn’t out far enough to put the center support in which would have helped. Camping is fun!
