Hello Oliver Community! My wife Frieda and I placed an order last week for a 2022 Legacy Elite II to be delivered next February. For over 20 years we've dreamed of owning an Airstream but once we learned about Olivers two years ago and took a look at them, the quality difference became apparent and we haven't looked back. We've been working with Phil and can't say enough good things about his customer service. I took a trip to the new showroom just last week and got my second factory tour. We cannot wait for our trailer. We look forward to getting to know all of you. Scott4 points

Last week we stayed at My Old Kentucky Home State Park in Bardstown, KY. Very convenient for visiting distilleries. We were disappointed that many of the distilleries are not open for tours due to COVID. We did visit Makers Mark, Buffalo Trace and a couple others. MOKHSP has a nice Stephen Foster historic center at the home used as the subject for his song, and KY state song, My Old Kentucky Home. The campground itself is small, only 30+ campsites. Most are not very level and in need of repair and updating. This is one of the few campgrounds I have had to use 2 power cords to reach the power pole and two water hoses to reach the water outlet. Some sites (the ones on the right) are FHU. Ours was W/E. It was a quiet campground, surrounded by a very nice golf course. Plus, you can’t beat the proximity to some great Bourbon distilleries. We also spotted another Oliver just across from us, Hull 781, Cliff and Stacey, who had just picked up their new Oliver a couple weeks earlier. Our campsite at MOKHSP. Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort. The inspiration for Stephen Foster’s “My Old Kentucky Home” Makers Mark Distillery.4 points

Yes it is the shorty, the placement of the rear view mirror in the picture messes up that “instant recognition” the tandem axles give you for the LE2. The bigger trailer has that window sized area of gelcoat between the left two EQUAL SIZED main windows. It is so weird that we are even discussing this…. Phone pictures can fool you. I think we get used to the perspective distortion you get from the typical phone fisheye lens. It can be really hard to judge sizes. John Davies Spokane WA2 points

I guess it depends on how bad a thief wants your Oliver TT. If a thief wants your rig bad enough I suppose there is nothing short of removing the wheels off a camper to prevent theft. We use the Proven lock as a very good deterrent and also proof to our insurance carrier we have done everything we can to prevent theft. We have the upgraded stainless steel puck lock and Medco key cylinder. (Don’t loose the key in big letters in instructions). I can’t imagine trying to remove the Proven lock if a key went missing. In my opinion it’s the best deterrent made for a coupler lock. It fits loosely for a reason to make it very difficult to drill or cut into. Having spent a really long career in Law Enforcement I never investigated or read a report on camper theft. Not to imply it does not happen, but it seems pretty rare. I know I have never read about an Ollie being stolen. We do the best we can to secure your rig and have excellent insurance coverage and choose CGs wisely.2 points

I have just noticed some suspension creaking noise. My last suspension was at Oliver last September and have certainly traveled over 3000 miles since then so it is time to buy a grease gun and figure out what to do. You Tube to the rescue.1 point

Just finished greasing all (16) zerks on the EZ flex. And recorded the mileage 3472 on our maintenance spread sheet. A special thanks to rideandfly for a few very valuable pointers! Thank you Bill! - David1 point

Hello Scott and Frieda and welcome 🙂 We're in the same boat with the waiting period. I see you've had 2 tours of the plant. We plan to do the same, sometime before we commit in September. Hopefully they will still be allowing us to take pictures! John1 point

Kind of a long shot here... but could it be related to the wind sensor? The wind sensor does have the capability to prevent the awning from opening for a short time after it has caused it to close.. perhaps the batteries need replacing? Or it needs to be replaced? Of course you need to get the awning open in order to fiddle with it....1 point

It has been my experience that a fat wallet leads to low back problems, so my advice is to get 2 wallets and share the pain. And it does help with elevating back pain.😉 Mossey1 point

Yep, always keep something on my desk to pick up and look at while on hold, ect. Job I retired from was a rebuild/manufacturing industrial machine shop in a rough neighborhood with a roof surface area of about 350,000 square feet. Had a pint jar about 1/2 full of 45 and 9mm slugs the roofers would pull out of the roof sitting my desk. Evidently folks would shoot their guns up in the air at night with our roof area being so large it would catch many falling slugs puncturing the roof starting leaks. The jar of slugs was a good conversation starter! 😬1 point

John, Have a pin sitting on my desk. It only has one hole for grease for the bronze bushing. During EZ flex kit installation, followed Dexter instructions for direction to point pin's grease hole, but still need to take a little weight off of one of the pins for it to take grease. Looks like a 1/8" hole. https://www.dexteraxle.com/user_area/content_media/raw/059-A45-00E-ZFlexInstructionSheet.pdf1 point

Looks like they’re towing with a Honda Ridgeline, so that’s probably a jet pack mounted to the roof to help get them up the mountains. 😝1 point

I would second the idea of having a separate section for Elite I trailers to address their unique requirements. There are many topics that apply to both but when it comes to storage, packing, towing, etc, there are some unique differences. This would make those who own (or will own) an Elite I a great resource for them. I would also be very valuable for Oliver to create a dimensions document for the Elite I like they have for the Elite II. Thanks for considering this! Carl1 point

All the small side cabinets (4 total) are close to the same size. One over fot and head of bed, two over small dinette area. The measurements are the opening size, roughly in my 2008. There's more space on each side of the opening. That's where packing cubes and fabric separators like Skubb from ikea come in. They can use the space, conforming to the curve of the hull, and keep stuff from jumbling around.1 point
