  1. Just saw this short article which was complementary of the Oliver Elite. https://www.autoevolution.com/news/legacy-elite-travel-trailer-is-americas-little-known-weapon-in-rv-world-game-171724.html

  2. Easy peasy, as long as you know how to navigate your Photos. Click Add Files, then Photo Library. Choose the picture you want and then click Add (at the top right). The picture will upload to the post. If you want to insert it into your text, rather than leave it at the bottom, select a spot in your text, then click Insert. Once you get used to it, it becomes second nature. If you want to delete an uploaded pic, click the black X circle. One caveat, if your picture is stored in iCloud, it has to download from there to your iPad before it can upload to the Ollie forum. If your Internet connection is really slow, that can make for an awkward session, it is best to upload pics when you have a good connection. Uploads take way way longer than downloads. 3. In the Oliver Winterizing video Jason shows how you can reach thru that port and switch the Suburban water heater valve into bypass. As far as I can tell, that’s all it can be used for, too small for me to reach any other valves.

  4. We have spent the last two nights in our trailer and it has been very enjoyable. Picked up #905 on the 29th and stayed in the lot for a night and the second night out at the Merriwether Lewis State park to test out no hookups. Good results so far. Jason Lindsey has really helped us out. We have been in contact trying to make the big step since early 2019. We also had a great gal giving us the orientation on the trailer. Hannah was knowledgeable, very thorough, and just a real nice person to talk with. We really enjoyed the walk through with her. Thank you Oliver !!! It feel like just what I thought. A quality product easy to start our adventures in. All the Forum folks contributing info I truly thank you and will use you in the future. Sincerely. Tina and Mike Locker. 5. Yes the fan on auto! I think there is a thread on the forum somewhere on this. Wayfinder, you're not alone on this. If I had not read about it in this forum I wouldn't have known. The thermostat is not intuitive. Good luck!!!

  6. About four years ago I found Oliver and these forums while browsing the Airstream forums looking for our 1st Travel Trailer (some tenting camping). The next four years consisted of mostly reading these forums, sending for brochures, to "unofficially" spec'ing out ours (dreaming), to using the referral program to see one in person, and to finally scheduling a tour this past Monday. I was impressed with the detail and thought that Oliver puts into these but not surprised since so many on here had prepared me without any of you knowing it. We sat down with Jason and went thru all the options then the question came, "do you want to secure a production date?". I couldn't have been more happy to tell him absolutely. So we now have a delivery date next July (15th I believe). We are newbies to the travel trailer scene and look forward to meeting many of you over the next few years. I will continue scouring these pages to help me finalize the options before April and to help prepare us for alittle life on the road.

  7. Welcome from Maine. Waiting and reading the forum you will be tempted to start gathering "stuff". Take it easy. You will be tempted to store it in a spare room. Don't, there is more room in a garage or small barn, lol. We have been up and down the eastern seaboard and the Mississippi River a few times in the last five years. And a few boondocking trips too. Each time we get home we evaluate items we haven't used, and see if we really need to be carrying it. We carry quite a few pounds less every trip. (What we did find was that there are stores all over the USA). We actually have three overhead cabinets that are almost empty, and room in the closet. We eat well, travel light, and stop often. Stay off the interstates as they almost all look a like. Come to a stop sign and flip a coin, tails to the left, heads to the right. That has lead to some of the best sights. Oh, and carry a good set of maps. Garmins usually lead to big crowds... See you around a campfire...

  8. Somebody’s “brilliant” idea which turned out to be a complete fail. After nearly twenty years of building these trailers, you would think they would just stop cutting that dinky round hole, or install a big rectangular hinged-at-the-bottom hatch instead. The furnace inlet grill could be installed in the hatch door for a much cleaner look, for a double win… I tried using mine the first time I winterized “Mouse”, and literally laughed out loud. 10. My shocks are just over a year old, 6000 miles and two are blown. ;( I think this is the correct part. ... http://www.monroe.com/en-US/e-catalog/555001/# Can anyone confirm? The regular automotive Gas Magnum shocks have a lifetime warranty, any idea about these RV units? I have not yet called the Ollie factory. https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/71ITrU+GhyS.pdf Is there a better shock available? These not impressive, nor are they especially cheap ($38 at Amazon), Thanks. John Davies Spokane WA

  11. This might be a complication question & solution. I recently ran my trailer off a generator. The A/C could, JUST barely, get started, but always did. I only ran it for an hour or so before bedtime to dehumidify while in Georgia. I got home and ran the furnace for the first time in a while. Furnace turns on and works great, but so does the AC unit. And the AC just constantly runs, and cools. It normally cycles on and off, annoyingly so. I rather have a constant fan anyway, side point. My temporary solution was the flip the AC breaker off. Next day, I tested again, and same result. Any ideas?

  12. We just purchased a Vornado as we are heading out at the end of November. We are headed to Naples for Christmas but will be heading across Texas, New Mexico and Arizona then back through Southern Utah and then Route 66 to Oklahoma City. Then on to Memphis, Nashville and I'd we have time and conditions permitting the Blue Ridge Parkway, returning to Maine in late April. I tested the Vornado yesterday, another benefit is it is quieter than the furnace. We will use the heater any time we are able to have power. We have our Ollie stored inside our in heated barn. I don't like running the Ollie furnace in the barn. If we get a cold snap before we leave I will use the Vornado to keep the Ollie from freezing. Our first stop south is at the Oliver factory to have them go through our 2019 trailer that we picked up in October of 2019.

  13. Wow, the fan setting was on Lo. I don't remember fussing with the fan setting, but I did place the AC down very low one evening so it would not cycle and have issues with the small generator. I think a soft start is in my future. I don't typically use a generator, but I didn't have a 30 Amp outlet at the house. Once again, thank you all. Thankfully it was simple. I'm heading into winter here in NC while full-timing. I'm pretty nervous of things going wrong, especially when heat will be needed to protect the water lines. I'm at a great RV park though, so we'll see. I'm interested to see how long the two 30 lb LP tanks will last, especially since I'll be at work most days and will set trailer to some undecided low temp. I wonder if anyone has that sort of experience with the Ollies. I'll poke around forums. Chris

  14. With my trailer, the AC comes on with the furnace if I have the fan set to low or hi. If I set the fan on auto, the AC does not come on with the furnace. I usually have the fan on Low when I run the AC and then when I turn on the furnace the AC comes on and I always roll my eyes that I forgot again to set the fan on auto first. Mike

  15. It may very well be your thermostat settings. There's a bit to read through, but if you have 5he digital thermostat (I don't) , you may find your answer in proper settings.

  16. The only thing I can use the hatch that's below the curbside bed is to turn the bypass on for the Truma. I can't possibly use it to reach the fresh water tank drain and always have to get assistance to raise the KT mattress and cover or I risk doing damage to my left arm.

  17. Same condition exists on the LE l. We leave the rear bed set up all the time, so even getting to the access port requires laying on the floor. Like many of the rest of you, I just use the access panel under the bedding.

  19. Congratulations on your upcoming Oliver! Many of us followed the same path that you did and many of us were first time trailer owners. We’ll be here during the upcoming months while you wait to answer questions. Mike

  20. Welcome to the Family! Obviously there is some bias here but most (if not all) reached the same decision as you did probably for many of the same reasons. The time between now and July will go by quickly even though there will be the occasion that you will wonder if it will ever get here. Use this time wisely - study the Oliver University and this Forum even more than you have. This "homework" will serve you well and make your "newbie" introduction much more enjoyable with a bunch less stress. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help you. Bill

  21. Congratulations!!! We take delivery in 9 days! I didn’t think delivery would ever come. We ordered last February. I spent a great deal of time going through Oliver University. I highly recommend it if you haven’t already. As you already know, this forum is the best. The people on this forum really go the extra mile and help however they can. Congratulations again and enjoy the process. Carl

  22. Congrats on your decision!! You won't regret it. We were "newbies" three years ago (in some ways we still are), and our Ollie has given us pure pleasure in numerous trips since March 2018. Welcome to the club. Jim

  23. Muncho Lake BC, from the north viewpoint, Alaska Highway, headed south. View out the back window, Strawberry Flats CG, Muncho Lake Provincial Park, at the south end. We encountered our most expensive gas near here, C$1.97/ liter (US$5.97/ gal). Average is about C$1.45, the cheapest was C$1.27 (US$3.85/ gal) in the gas/ oil fields around Dawson Creek, near Alberta. The weather was lovely, for a change, and I took some wonderful time lapse videos of the lake and clouds, and encountered the dreaded black flies for the first time. This is 24 hours after getting bit about a dozen times around the top of my socks. Yes, they really itch! Three days later they still itch…. We are near the south part of BC now, approaching Kelowna, and if we pass our Covid tests on Wednesday, we will be able to cross over into the USA again. Otherwise we will have to quarantine. 😳 John Davies Spokane WA
