  1. The storage cabinet in a 2021 LE2 is 19.25" W, 13.0" H, and 13.5" D. You can request a hole in the roof of the cabinet that goes to a 120V outlet in the cabinet above. I agree with the other responses: you'd want to be careful with oven temperatures. We keep an instant pot in the storage compartment. On slow cook, no problem. We put the instant pot elsewhere (e.g., outside, or on the table) for pressure cook.

  2. We have our Ollie parked at Hideaway Storage of Naples on Progress Ave near Naples Airport. I worked the deal out with the manager Chris. $20 per day cash. No paperwork. I think we will be ok. We parked the Ollie yesterday and will pick it up on Sunday before we head north toward Venice. Lots of rv, boats and trailers, over 200 spots. Also saw 3 Airstreams. We are stored outside on the middle of the lot. There are a number of class A Pushers stored there. 6 cameras. Seems like an ok area. They are busy and I arranged this in April. Tell Chris you have a trailer like Matt from Maine. We found getting temporary storage challenging.

  5. congratulations! however much time do you have scheduled to pick up your trailer, plan on more time, slow everything down, ask lots of questions, and try to look at each and every component. turn all the switches on and off, and make sure everything works as it should. that includes turning the fridge on and off, putting it on natural gas and electricity, and also turning the furnace on and making sure hot air comes out of all of the vents.

  7. I can’t comment on the newest trailers, but mine has that outlet shared with all the other 120 VAC ones on a 20 amp circuit. If yours is like this 2019 diagram, you won’t have any worries about overloading it, as long as you are careful not to run other high load devices at the same time, like a toaster. You could use any of the outlets. I doubt that you will be able to operate it inside that cabinet due to ventilation and heat concerns. The LE2 has a bare minimum of counter space. You could get a (slightly) larger Foy dinette table top for extra room and do your prep there. It seems overly complicated to me, for such a small interior volume, but I think you could figure it out, if you are determined. My wife loves to bake bread, at home she uses vast amounts of counter space. There is no way she could do that in our trailer. She would start screaming in frustration.🤬 Storage for all those pans, utensils, components and so on is another problem, but they could go in a great big bin and store in the truck. There isn’t room in the Ollie, and cleaning all that bulky stuff in the galley will be challenging.. John Davies Spokane WA

  9. WOW! What a Christmas present. And, at this point the weather forecast doesn't look too bad. In fact, temps should be a number of degrees above normal. Sure do hope that forecast holds true for you guys. Bill

  11. Kirk: Even if Oliver is willing to allow you the "cabinet-instead of-microwave" option on your 2022 model, I would consider the thread below before presuming that the High Pointe convection microwave Oliver offers will not be acceptable. While your baking standards may be very high, there are lots of pretty satisfied Elite II convection microwave owners on this forum who have baked bread, cookies, poultry, etc.: You might also consider seeking additional input by starting another thread focused on convection oven baking results. FWIW, my wife and I like to bake too, which is why we plan to drop the extra $450 for the convection upgrade. Even if it does not offer results quite as good as our built-in double convection/standard ovens at home (which we won't know until we try it), we view it as one of the trade-offs of camping. And, if we're not satisfied with the convection oven's performance, we can always resort to that venerable Idaho camp kitchen tool we take on every extended river trip---a dutch oven! I've baked many a cake on the river... My 2 cents. Ralph Pond

  12. You might also want to confirm that the cabinet-instead-of-microwave option is still available; I was under the impression that 2021 was the last year for this. Also, temporarily sliding an oven away from the back wall while in use may not be an option in that the bottom the cabinet door when open is about 1/2 in above the cabinet floor, and the top of the door when open extends about 4.5" beyond the counter into the isle.

  13. Kirk, you might take a look at this topic, which gives some dimensions as well as a good look at the cabinet itself, outlet, modifications that others have done, etc.: My experience with commercial kitchen equipment is that their priorities are durability, simplicity of use, and easy cleaning, and only then function. So they don’t necessarily do a better job than a consumer model and if they do it’s usually for the very specific subset of what a restaurant is buying it to do. And of course no thought at all to noise or insulation beyond what might be required by law. We buy commercial utensils, pans, etc, quite often, but have learned to avoid appliances. I think the only exception is our Vitamix but even that has some limitations. Powerful, though. But you know your needs best so take that advice for whatever it’s worth. As for ventilation, it could be that like ours, just scooting it out away from the back wall while in use might be enough. You’ll need to hear from a recent Oliver owner about the size of the cabinet, since it’s changed over time - often enough that at the time of that thread even Oliver couldn’t tell you how big it was. To quote myself: “When you get the option from them, they build a cabinet inside that isn't much larger than the door. In fact, it's smaller than they told us it would be which means we got stuck with a larger oven than will fit. In fact, if someone is considering the factory option, know that I was actually given one set of dimensions early on, which was different from what's listed on the measurement pdf, which was different from what I overheard Heather telling a customer on the phone while I was picking up our trailer, which was different from what was actually in our trailer. So good luck, buyers!”

  14. Love the idea and location. Lack of cell signal not an issue. Timing for us is not good as we will not be back in CO then. Have fun!

  15. Love the idea and would attend... But, our problem is the timing as we typically stay at a Southwest Colorado site with friends the second half of June. So sadly, unless they decide against going this year, we'd pass on the group site ☹️ Charlie

  17. In retrospect, I would have been better off to let it burn. That thought never entered my mind when it happened. In fact, I can't recall actually thinking about anything at the time. It was more of a reaction to the situation at hand. I attribute that to the extensive firefighting and shipboard damage control training that I had in the Navy. That was over four decades ago, but it stuck. Pretty good training I would say. It may have been to my disadvantage this time though. I did some more research on the extinguishing agent and found the same type of information that @John E Davies shared with us in his post. I believe that my truck was stored outside in a fenced area and exposed to a lot of moisture. I have compiled some documents, even a few published by the NFPA regarding the corrosive properties of the chemical; and I am going to meet with my insurance agent tomorrow to discuss. Thanks to all of you for your concern and comments. Mike

  18. As you probably already know - the dates for the 2022 Oliver Owner's Rally have been set, campsites can be reserved and you can pay your rally fee ($100). But little information is available yet with regards to meetings, dinners, seminars, etc. Of course I'm sure that these things are still being arranged and one can safely assume that the 2022 rally will be similar to the previous Owner's Rallies where activities were scheduled that cover most of the major items one might expect - boondocking, Oliver maintenance, mods, travel, etc. There are usually at least two dinners - opening night and closing night and possibly other events of this nature with at least one night being "open" for you to have dinner or a campfire or whatever on our own. Breakfasts have ranged from continental type to something a bit more elaborate with owners bringing "stuff" but coffee and tea are almost always available. Participants have also been given t-shirts, hats, mugs and the like. In my opinion - you do get your monies worth and if anything, the rallies that we've had in the past have actually had too many things to do causing me to be tired at the end. The location and facilities are first rate (kind of like Oliver). Certainly, I look forward to seeing old friends again and to meeting many new ones this year. Bill

  19. Foy Sperring is an Oliver owner who handcrafts a variety of beautiful custom wood products for Oliver trailers-- tabletops, shower mats, cutting boards, etc. He and his wife have also organized mini rallies in Florida. You can see his catalog here, and pictures of his installed work if you do a search on Foy Sperring.

  20. Tundra Fire Update Well the good news for all of you Tundra owners out there is that the fire was not Toyota's fault. Someone cut my fuel line and the return line while attempting to steal my catalytic converter. The thieves are lucky that it did not ignite when they cut it. It took several weeks for Toyota to respond back to me with their findings, and a month for State Farm to decide what they are going to do about it. State Farm will not total the truck. They are going to replace the entire wiring harness, fuel lines, and assorted melted or otherwise damaged parts. I put out the fire with a dry chemical fire extinguisher. It is a powder finer than talcum powder and it is everywhere under and in the engine compartment on the drivers side and all over the firewall. My research indicates that the chemical used in my extinguisher is corrosive, particularly to electronics. It has been sitting on there for a month. State Farm does not think that this is an issue and the adjuster contests that it may have caused hidden damage. By the way, the adjuster never came to look at it. State Farm sent an independent agent to take photos and send them to their adjuster for analysis. I don't want to go through the aggravation of pursuing a lawsuit that will drag on for months with a company as large and powerful as State Farm. Until this is all settled I have no tow vehicle. My wife's Xterra has enough power, but the suspension and short wheelbase make it unsafe (IMHO) for towing a travel trailer. I can ill afford to have some hidden damage pop up and give me issues when far from home with Ollie in tow. I have authorized repairs and I will end up trading it in or selling it. It is probably the worst time ever to be shopping for a new truck, but that is what I am faced with. Rather than wallow in self pity, when the chips are down I tend to look at all the good things in my life that I am thankful for. One thing in particular is that my niece and her family are safe. They live in Mayfield KY and the tornado passed just beyond their backyard. Only damage they suffered was the loss of a big tree. They lost their church though, and possibly some friends or acquaintances, but they are okay. I don't know if they have power and water restored yet. I simply can't imagine the magnitude of despair those folks down there are going through. Many of them have lost everything. Makes my current truck problem seem very petty indeed.

  22. Link to Catalog A lot of great ideas and craft have come together to get this catalog update ready. New products, new choices in wood, and new finishes to match Oliver’s décor options. I have used the most common questions about my craft to layout this catalog and help you decide what your style is and fits your needs. I now have a new email address for orders and questions – FoyablesInWood@gmail.com. Lastly – as we all have seen around us my prices have increased. Everything from wood, finishes, supplies, and freight has jumped in the last 4 months. If you have an order place with me, your grandfathered into the old pricing. All orders from October 1st are under this new pricing structure. Onward, Foy 517933762_FoyblesCatalogV3.1f.pdf

  23. I am taking delivery of a 2021 Elite 2 (Hull 948) on 11/11/21. I have ordered almost everything in Foy's catalog ordered except for the bed platform. For those of you who haven't worked with Foy yet, he is a class act. He will do a quick call with you if you need to speak with him and he is very responsive. We are lucky to have him in the Ollie community.

  24. It's hard to believe that I'm finally sitting in my own Oliver as I write this. Picked up yesterday with a fantastic walkthrough with Hanna. I had a long checklist of things to go over and questions to ask. Hanna anticipated everything and really impressed me with her knowledge and attention to detail. I told myself that I wasn't going to be one of those people who has to run over to Tractor Supply to get the right hitch, but I was! LOL. After about 300 miles on highways, winding country lanes, rainstorms and potholes, I can say that everything is great. No problems. What can I say? Great company. Great product. In coming days I'll add some posts on some specific components and Hanna's answers to some of my questions that you'll all find interesting.

  25. Sorry for the very late reply. I am just seeing this. We were at DCSP from 6/24 - 6/29 and yes, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Really enjoyed that campsite and would want the same one if we stop there again. Sorry about some of the issues you're having. I'm sure they'll be addressed quickly. Good suggestion to all buyers to check EVERYTHING carefully before they venture too far away from the Oliver facility.

  26. So, here's an update. Tried the furnace today and realized no air coming from the vent below the sink. A quick investigation found that the duct was not connected to the furnace. The knock-out hole on the rear side of the furnace was knocked out, and that's where the hot air was coming out. No one in the factory connected it. Since I picked it up in mid-July, here are the other problems I've had. No caulking around kitchen sink, allowing water to seep underneath and drip to drawers below. Put duct tape around sink for quick fix. Need to put silicone around it. Screen door misaligned, with big gaps allowing bugs to get in. Jason suggested tweaking it to try to close the gaps. Haven't tried yet. Lettering on light switch panel rubbed off. Mike sent out new panel. Lettering on Dometic stove knobs rubbing off. Waiting for new knobs. Xantrex inverter shutting off and not rebooting due to improper programming from the factory. This resulted in a new Technical Service Bulletin (Aug. 3), and after Jason helped me change the settings, the problem hasn't returned. In another post I shared an article about the horrible (really horrible) quality of SOB RVs and the nightmares those owners are having. In that post I promised not to complain about anything related to my Oliver, and I'm trying. I guess my point here is to remind new buyers to do a super thorough check of the trailer before leaving OTT. I spent two and a half hours at OTT before leaving and thought I did a thorough check but I missed some things. For example I turned on the AC because I wanted to make sure it really could run off the lithium system, but I didn't turn on the furnace. I will say that I'm very happy with the trailer and all the components. The composting toilet is easy peasy. The lithium pro package works great. The Norcold fridge is big and cold. The suspension takes rough roads like a champ. The KTT bed is super comfy. The windows seal tight. Yesterday and today I gave it it's first wash and wax, by hand. What a job. My arms are sore! But, with a little elbow grease I got all the bugs off and with the marine wax got the hull shining.

  28. We'll be collecting our LE2 on September 16th, and wanted specific dimensions of the interior of the HighPointe convection microwave so we can come prepared with appropriately sized cookware. I contacted Phil Andrews for the model number, which is ECO28KD7. The interior dimensions are 13" W x 13" D x 9" H, and the turntable is 12.4" in diameter.

  29. Thank you. I've been practicing with an 8" round pan at home. Turns out my home microwave has a convection oven option also. It's just larger than the one in the Oliver. Nice to be able to experiment while waiting for our pick up date.

  30. For all kinds of Oliver sized cookware and other items Oliver Users have gathered...check out the Oliver Trailer Outfitters Guide on Amazon here: https://amzn.to/2mAAgPO The pans we use in the convection oven are on that list (about half way down the list) The Nordic Wear line makes special sized pans for toaster oven's and compact convection ovens. Here's one of the compact baking sheets we use. Craig
