I'm packing the truck and heading north tomorrow -- I'm so excited I doubt I'll sleep a wink! Monday is delivery day, and I promise I'll post photos as soon as possible. Thank you to everyone on the forum for all the great information, interesting debate, and fun discussion! I'll be taking the slow road home (3 weeks) and hope to have shaken out the more obvious user error patterns by then. Beyond that, I'm looking forward to meeting some of you at the Rally coming up. WooHoo!!!!

For anyone getting replacement lug nuts, make sure you get the proper type for aluminum wheels. The correct ones are the “bulge acorn” type which have a larger conical seating surface for use on aluminum wheels. Aluminum wheels are softer than steel wheels and require the larger seating surface. The ones installed by Oliver are the correct bulge acorn type so get the same style. “Acorn” type have a smaller conical face and are for steel wheels.

We have found through experience that excess moisture can definitely be a problem with the NH - we've encountered the problem more than once camping in high humidity. What happens is when it's humid inside the trailer the medium in the NH absorbs the moisture from the air and becomes way too wet. The lack of "good" airflow and extra moisture in the bathroom from showers exacerbates the problem as does running the bathroom fan with the door closed - which effectively reverses the airflow over the NH medium and if the outside air is humid, the medium quickly becomes too wet. We've taken several steps to mitigate moisture problems and haven't had any in quite a while. Here's some ideas that have been mentioned by others... 1. Run a small dehumidifier inside whenever the humidity outside is above 50% (almost always here in the Southeast). 2. Start with as close to 100% dry medium in the NH as you can. We use a coco coir brick and I add water to break it up a week before we leave. I then keep the inside of our trailer at a lower humidity and let the medium dry out. A tiny bit of moisture is ok to keep dust down, but dealing with a little dust on the fan / filter is much better than trying to dry out a soupy mess in our opinion. 3. In general, think about airflow over the NH medium and take steps to mitigate excess moisture if necessary. This means thinking about the airflow and quality of the air going through the NH during different scenarios - bathroom fan on/off, bathroom door open/closed, outside air quality, etc. You can also tell with experience from turning the crank whether or not the medium in the NH is too wet (heavy) or getting too wet and in need of some dry air for a while.

I installed a Victron 100/30 solar charge controller in the Oliver and connected it to the zamp outlet to test the truck bed solar. The panels on the truck bed are wired in series so it is only around 5 amps which allows for using cheap 12 gauge landscape wire. Panels were flat until around 2 pm when I raised them up. The truck was facing southwest and I am located just south of Atlanta. Total yield for the day from just the truck panels was 1.77 KWH. This will be plenty to run the iceco fridge and add additional power to the Oliver batteries.

I did this after my torque wrench slipped and mangled the metal skin on one of the factory nuts.

Using pool noodles and a couple of zip ties solved this problem for me.

There's something "funny" here but I just can't seem to put my finger on it!🙃 The folks with a Nature's Head don't want things too wet while the folks with the standard toilet don't want things too dry?

We ended up not preferring the king bed so we had another support panel made and went with a full size mattress. It is a standard full size. It gives us extra space on the benches that comes in handy for everyday living.

I have not removed my cover yet but I will within the next couple of weeks and will report any wear issues to the Oliver. I don't expect any primarily because of how light the cover is. When it was incredibly windy the cover would move slightly despite being cinched down pretty well. Even with this, I'm not anticipating any wear to the trailer. Can't over emphasize the need for pool noodles (or something similar) for the sharp corners like the solar. The cover will wear in those spots without them.

I bought sphagnum peat at Lowe's for my NH. I haven't used it yet (pick up next week) but I remember reading that you need to BE SURE to use 100% organic, WITHOUT ADDITIVES since the additives would not give the right result! So be mindful -- no peat with Miracle Gro added.

Turns out it was a loose wire underneath the A/C shroud on the roof. In hindsight, I should have listened carefully for the deeper sound of the compressor kicking in. another way would have been to look at the load on Xantrex app. With just fan running it shows about 400W, and with the compressor running it jumps to 1100-1200W.

Try the coconut coir bricks when you get a chance. We’ve found them better than the peat moss. Easier to travel with too. Good Luck.

I suspect much depends on how much time you spend in the Ollie. For us, it’s just a few weeks a year. We are older and can manage without cuddling for the days between trips . At our ages, it’s more important to be able to stumble out of bed in the middle of the night to use the restroom. It’s also more important to be able to easily access the attic storage over the beds. Different strokes for different folks. More importantly, enjoy your travels! ❤️

I was concerned about possibly affecting wheel balance, but Oliver told me that wouldn't happen or be very slight. I was also concerned about the shape of the nut being correct to seat in the rim, but a careful comparison between the old and new showed that the new would fit properly. I have towed about 300 miles since with no issue. When you get your Oliver, check the nuts against anything you might buy. Mine is a 2021 LEII. I do not know if they changed the wheels on later years. The threads inside the nut should be at least as deep as the lug bolt. Some nuts are multi-piece with a welded cap, so the threads do not go as high as needed.

My inclination right now is to remove the street side seal since we will only ever use that side for shade. I do want a gutter/seal on curbside, though, so we'll do our best to fix that. And I will save my email from Jason. mb

We live not too far from the Southern Mattress family, so we decided to order our Ollie with only the provided foam cushions. We figured we could change to the mattress later if needed, but we've been comfortable with the cushions. My husband added a foam topper and I'm sleeping on just the cushions.

Oliver is using Tochta as their optional mattress supplier, replacing KTT. Apparently, KTT was having supply chain problems. We opted to have our LEII delivered in mid-February with the standard cushions. We wanted to try the cushions before deciding to upgrade to mattresses. When we were at Oliver to pickup Hull 990 we tried the Tochta mattresses in one of the showroom units. I believe Oliver is using 7 inch thick Utopia mattresses from Tochta. We decided to purchase 8" Utopia mattresses directly from Tochta. You have more choices and will save some money by purchasing directly from Tochta. Shipping is free. Also look online for coupons. We got a 5% discount using an online coupon. I recommend you see the Tochta website. I had previously been told by Oliver that they were no longer accepting direct shipments of purchases by owners without adding a surcharge.

Indeed. When I order bulky items, this is often true. I have them shipped to my sister's office.

GG - Nice job. As an update - I've had mine installed in my 2017 F-150 for over a year now and I could not be happier with it. This thing is rock solid holding the fairly large Garmin 890 and I find the USB ports I added (similar to GG) to be very useful for my Garmin InReach mini. If you remove the rubber mat in the Ford before drilling and installing the Built Right Shelf then the shelf can be removed (if you sell the truck or decide that you don't want it there anymore), the rubber mat replaced and you will never even know that it was there. I have a question about the black tank rinse design. Do the rinse lines to the black tank have any kind of sprayer on the line to help clean the black tank or are they just open water lines into the tank? The reason I ask is if there is a sprayer on the ends of the rinse lines, are they not susceptible to clogging without the rinse line being filtered? I would be concerned about plugging up the line with hair or other particles in the grey water. I very much am interested in implementing such a solution on #924 when we take delivery later in October. I’m not familiar with how the black tank rinse systems are designed or work. Carl

Unfortunately, living in the Corrosion Capital of Connecticut, sometimes the steel under the stainless jackets corrodes and they swell up. They'll look OK, but the wrench socket will bind.
