  1. Well, these new hoses went on in a snap. No leaks now. I did need to rotate the tanks 90 degrees so the lines fit best. We'll see if they last another six years.

  3. This mod has been around for a fair while now and unless the company has changed things - the only way to get the white operating handle is to give them a phone call. There is no extra charge for the white handle - it simply is not an option available with the online ordering process. Bill

  5. Very nice upgrade! A for sure add to my 2024 Ollie Mod list. Our Summer 2023 list is a Houghton and Air Bags. In the meantime, I use two medium binder clips and a heavy bath towel to block out unwanted light. Clips and towel attach nicely to the inside door frame top left and right.

  6. We’re in site 29, level, large great views. All the sites look similar. I glanced at 23 when we walked down to the rest room. Looks good. We are close to the rest rooms/showers which are new and nice. We’re only here overnight but plan on a longer stay on our way home. It’s a small campground, only 29 sites but worth stopping at if you’re traveling I-10. It’s about 10 miles south of the freeway and Deming. Happy New Year!

  7. I'm sure you have done the geometry already, but just a reminder as it bit me: Being on a hillside generally results in an angled driveway leading into the flat garage floor. If backing uphill, that angle change will cause the rear of our trailer to "tilt up" as you back it in. In my case I needed an additional 6" of door and ceiling when backing Ollie into the Ollie Cave. Another reason to go for the 12' tall garage door and really tall inside ceiling height. GJ

  9. Wayfinder: Upon re-review of your initial post, as well as the responses, I noted that it did not appear that you got an answer to your question. In my research for the above post, I found that the Fridge Defend Fan Control Sensor is a 130 degree F sensor. It is mounted directly to the absorption coil. Their approach is to defend the system from overheat damage. What most of us are looking for is a way to improve the cooling of the system. To do so, a less costly and longer lasting approach is to monitor the air temperature near the upper louver as John D. indicated above. With natural air flow, a the airflow exiting Ollie from the refrigerator louvers will be less than the temperature of the absorption coil. Hence, I selected a 106 degree F turn on temp sensor. For FYI, here is the Defend source and post. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ https://www.arprv.com/rv-fridge-slide-out.php Optional Condenser Mount Fan Sensor We now only recommend mounting the fan sensor on the absorber coils. This next image shows the Fridge Defend + Fan Control sensor mounted on the Norcold 1200 condenser outlet for the above coach. Please note, we now recommend mounting the sensor down on the absorber coil because it is just as affective and easier to get to. This is an excellent location to control the fans from because the condenser should not get over 130°F, but the condenser is hard to get to, thus the fans sensor can be mounted on the absorber coils with ease. If 130°F is exceeded the fridge louses its efficiency and will run hot in warm weather. Please note that we put our precision sensor directly on the tube, where as the factory fan sensor is on a fin which does not measure the process temperature. Also, the Fridge Defend fan sensor is a +/-2° accuracy sensor, whereas, the Dometic or Norcold sensor can louse accuracy (or drift) so that it is +/-20°F of error over time.

  13. Rivernerd: Jason is correct that you can see all your old tickets. Go to the "Open Tickets" section. Then click on "Tickets" then Click on the drop down arrow for "Open" (even though it shows O tickets). After clicking on the drop down arrow, you can click on "All Status" and when that opens you will find your old tickets. Good luck

  18. You do have to be careful what you wish for. Our pole barn door is wide and high, and sometimes got stuck if we didn't stop it early. The company came out and corrected it, while under warranty, but big (heavy) doors require big openers, and definitely check it out while still under warranty.

  20. Yes, I only have the one inlet. This is very odd that the back display didn’t light up even after disconnecting everything, etc. I have a call out to Oliver to see if they might have answers. Just for peace of mind I might get an external surge protector. Thank you for your help! Hope you’re having a great New Year’s Day!

My wife and I are discussing an “Activation” of the Lake Guntersville State Park (K-1044) during the rally. I will likely bring my FT-991A and a Chameleon vertical antenna and setup somewhere in the campground but we can discuss options. 73 de AF1US Brian

  22. Mike & Carol. Just an hour (small world that you just posted your location there) I made a reservation there for 2/24/23 during my route west. Only site remaining was #23; only one night so site condition is not a real concern. However, any other thoughts/recommendations for our brief stay? Thanks. And Happy New Year all!

  23. We’re heading south from Virginia in our LE2 in a few days, and it’s warm enough to dewinterize before leaving, so I watched Jason’s dewinterizing video (1st time for us). Towards the end, Jason connects the water hose to the rear winterization port, goes inside, turns on the pump, then opens the cold water faucet at the sink to clear the rear port line. So, I learned something today…I can use pressurized water at the rear port, and the water pump won’t mind that. I naively thought that pressurized water on the pump inlet side might damage the pump…It won’t, will it?

  27. We kept it fairly simple 13’w 11’h 25’L and no doors just an all steel building. Having a (3) car garage upper attached and a lower basement garage we just did not need another garage. So we had an “Ollie Hangar” built 6 months ago. Lead time from when we ordered was two weeks. In a day and a half we had our Ollie under cover. The concrete pad is 13x55. This has worked perfectly for our needs. From this - . To this-

  28. We have a 10x10 door for our detail shop and have pulled several LE2's into the shop with no problem, both old and brand new Olivers. It's a tight fit and gives your roughly 4-6 inches of clearance on top of the Oliver since they are 9ft 6in tall. 10x10 is the smallest you can go and will work.

  29. I recently replaced my aging rubber hoses with some stainless steel braided hoses that had pressure gauges on them. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZCRFLHD?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details In order to eliminate the acute angle of the hose run, I turned each of the tanks' connections "outwards" on the trailer about 30° which made for a nice smooth curve of the hose. Be sure to always have a bottle of propane gas leak detector with you to confirm no leaks every time you connect your hoses to the tanks. https://www.amazon.com/Camco-Gas-Leak-Detector-Dauber/dp/B0006JLSMO/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=propane+leak+detector+fluid&qid=1672186001&sr=8-6

  31. When the bots hit it really didn't take long to see that they had found a way around the usual safeguards that were built into the platform we use. Quickly, Jason (W.) and Matt (D) went into find a solution mode - but - with the holidays not only did they have limited resources at Oliver but the software people at the platform were also down to a skeleton staff. Meanwhile, as a number of members noted, several of the moderator staff were "very" busy playing "whack a bot". That's when it was decided to simply close new registrations through the Christmas holidays and get back at finding a better solution once people were back at work with at least a somewhat "normal" schedule. Since many companies are also giving employees Christmas Monday off (December 26) I assume that any "serious" work in this regard will not begin until Tuesday (December 27). Past experience has shown that these people are very good and I would think that it will not take more than a few days to get to the bottom of what's going on. Certainly, everyone will be advised when we are once again "open for business". Bill p.s. of course, in the mean time, non-members can still see posts on the Forum. They can not see Classifieds nor can they add posts of their own but all other things are available to them.

  35. It’s not related to your computer. It’s the moderators on the forum that quickly remove spam posts. But this morning it was a very different type of spam/fake user/bot posts. This forum was getting bombarded this morning by HUNDREDS of spam posts about bogus airline ticket reservations from fake user accounts. The moderators quickly removed all those posts and have temporarily blocked any new users from joining until a better security solution is found to prevent fake bot user accounts.

  43. Hey John, In addition to the 4" round vent cut from bathroom to the dinette area I also put one under the streetside bed to wall the garage and yet another one through rear wall under curbside bed, right next to the furnace. That wall is fitted super loosely so allows a lot of air to flow past anyhow. The plan is to partially cover some of the pre existing 8x10 return vent. My goal is to increase warm air flow past exterior shower and the shower's feed lines which inexplicably are buried all the way in the rear of the garage.

  45. The park is compact enough that you can get out and visit the other areas and talk to fellow owners. We’ve been in a couple of areas but still walk around to visit old friends and meet new owners. Many of the activities are up at the lodge or down at the lake pavilion so your camping location doesn’t matter for those events. We’ll be looking forward to meeting you and as many other new owners as we can. It’s a fun weekend. Mike

  46. I also have the diamondback tonneau cover for my F250 and like it. It is well made and came with good installation instructions. As JPS mentioned, it makes the contents of the bed pretty secure. It is, however, expensive compared to most other tonneau covers. I also ordered the Front Runner rack system for it but have yet to install it. I got the smooth black finish to make installation of the rack system a bit easier. I wanted something strong enough to carry 2 (heavy) fishing kayaks on it which also influenced my decision. Their customer service is also quite good. Good luck!

  47. Data: Average Elite II Tongue Weight will be > 500 lbs. And can range from 550-750 typically loaded. Our Hull 505 at the factory on pickup day with all options and Full Dual 30 Gal Propane was 585 lbs. As I've used a tongue wt. scale I've found that it's been as high as 750 lbs and typically at about 675 lbs. because we also have a front basket, and dual 30G propane tanks. The Ford Ranger Receiver bolted into the frame will have a sticker stating two weights it can handle : Weight Distributing, and Weight Carrying: Here's the example below from our F150 Hitch: The Weight Distributing number is the "MAX" you can have as a tongue wt. while using a wt. distributing hitch. The Weight Carrying number is the "MAX" you can put on the hitch as 'dead weight' while not using a wt. distributing hitch. As a practical matter, we upgraded from an F150 to an F350....not because of 'Towing Capacity' but because of the Payload Number. Our F150 had a door jam payload sticker rating of 1557 lbs and a tow rating of 12,700 lbs. We found after subtracting the Tongue Wt of our trailer we only had about 800lbs payload left for people, tools and cargo in the truck. The Ranger would be able to tow with a WDH, but the bigger concern may be stopping safely, and towing drivability and safety for you and your passengers. Hope that data helps you a bit. 48. My understanding is that in these very early numbered hulls, if there is a manual switch, you don’t even have a temp sensor. When the refrigerators started arriving with a built-in fan and sensor, Oliver decided to eliminate the manual switch entirely. Some Dometic RM2454 fridges have cooling fans located between the upper and lower coils, in an area that is completely inaccessible without removing the unit entirely. Jason in Service told me that they started receiving these units in mid-2017 (mine was delivered in May '17), and that previously there was NO Dometic fan installed. On those units Oliver added their own fan, positioned high above the upper coils where it was easily reached, and I believe these fans also had an inside On/ Off switch. Yay! Good thinking. I can’t tell you how hot it has to get for the sensor to work, mine would turn on the fan on a blistering hot day (100 degrees plus) in full sunshine all day, and the fan would blow non-stop far into the (hot) night. In 2018 the fan bearings went out so It was squealing and keeping us awake. I eventually disconnected the power wire to it since accessing the fan on #218 requires removing the fridge entirely. So far the fridge works fine, but if it seems to struggle I will just remove the louvers. (It has not been in those extreme conditions since I took off the fan wire.) The lack of a manual switch (or an accessible fuse) when there is an INACCESSIBLE fan and sensor seems like a bad concept to me…. FYI, if you have any specific comments about how yours is setup, could you please add them on the following page? : …. https://olivertraveltrailers.com/forums/topic/3296-how-to-dometic-refrigerator-cooling-fan-noisy-disconnect-the-power-wire/ If I ever pull out the (functioning) fridge I could install a new fan up high, with a manual switch….. but most likely the aging (five seasons) fridge will get scrapped in favor of a DC compressor one and an extra lithium battery to deal with the additional electrical load. 49. We bought our 2019 EL2 used, it was equipped with everything we needed except a Receiver Hitch to attach a Bike Rack. After reviewing all the Posts on the subject I got to work and made one, reference the attached pics. 1-1 jpg shows the Receiver Hitch and attaching Stainless Steel Bolts, Lock Pin, Anti Ratter Device. Receiver Hitch= Harbor Freight $20.00. 1-2 jpg shows the finished assembly. Not shown are the Spacers inside the Channels Beams to prevent the Beams from collapsing when the bolts are torqued. The Spare Tire cover can be removed and the Rear Bumper can be lowered to access the Sewer Pipes. 1-3/img0684 jpg shows the left/right hand ends of the assembly. Note all Aluminum is Aircraft 6016, and all fasteners are SS. Approx $150.00 in Bolts and $120.00 in Alum. img 0683 jpg show the underneath view. DSCF 1981 jpeg Shows a Stowaway 2 Storage Trunk mounted to the back of our MH to carry our 2 Folding Bikes at the time, Sold. I am thinking about getting another Trunk (this time used and White) to carry one of our ebikes (60 lbs) when we get them. I am not 100% sure of this idea yet, but it does have the benefit of greater security and protection for the ebikes. The Trunks weighs about the same as a Bike Rack (30 lbs), but is about $500.00 less expensive and can carry a few extra light weight things. Note: I plan on limiting the total weight on the rear to include the Alum Receiver Hitch, Bike Rack or Trunk, plus one ebike to around 125 lbs, or so.
