  3. Hi Mr Kiefer!

Did you get the Maxxis ST trailer tires or the LT truck tires?? Both will give great service...the ST are limited to 65 mph. Finding with the dual axles on the Evergreen that the ST (special trailer) will resist scuffing and sidewall pressure from tight turns better than LT tires. This is not a factor on the single axle Olivers as they just follow behind like good little tires! ;) We'll be back in FL mid Nov to March, maybe we can get together.

  4. :D Hi!!

Yes, last winter was cold and hopefully warmer this year. We live part of the year in Apalachicola, FL on the panhandle. Our favorites include Anastasia and St Joseph Peninsula SP. Other favorites are St George Island SP, Blue Springs SP, Manatee Springs SP and Ft DeSoto County Park: Pinellas Co. With an Oliver, you should have no trouble even getting into some tent sites at the Florida State Parks. Reservations are adviseable where ever you can in winter. Private parks we like are: Ho Hum in Carrabelle(panhandle hwy 98 ON THE WATER). When you know you are coming, email us at tumblwede@yahoo.com to find out where we are and maybe we can meet up.

  5. Hi All! :D

Have Duros on the Mothership and with almost 7K, they are wearing very well. I would have preferred 16" and may go to them later but so far, very good. FYI, our Duros' came from factory with nitrogen fill and have not lost any air pressure. :?

  6. The Contis and Kumhos are both truck tires and you wont find them under trailer tires. Have Duros (made in China) trailer tires on the Evergreen and they look new after 6k + miles and are readily avail cross country.

  7. In 2008, 3 Olivers were camped in Ft Smith, Ark at the RVersII Rally when TS Ike came thru and inundated us with horrendous rain....campground mgr said 8" in 5 hours :o . We had no leaks in ours nor do I remember ScubaRx or Mountainborn having any leaks  , window or otherwise. My guess is that the drain holes were clogged. There are several rubberized gutters available, one that I used on my Casitas.

Check out the http://www.marxrv.com website. Some great info, some outdated, but good stuff.

  8. :D Hi to all!!!

  9. ;) Iffen ya'll speed demons out there do NOT want to slow down to the 65mph (Highly recommended and mandatory for ST trailer tires) Continental Tire makes a great & $$$$ 8 and 10 ply truck tire called the Conti! Also, iffen ya'll kin find them, Kumho makes some great, long wearing truck tires in 8 plys( not quite so $$$).

Jist fer yr info, I'm not saying ya'll outta' do 75+ mph.....this is NOT NASCAR, ya'll!!!

In Cody, WY, where are the Olivers this summer????

    Happy Trails to all !!!!

  10. :D Hi, We had the BCT tires and were leery but could not find anything derogatory. We put well over 12000 miles and the wear was very good at some high temps(100+) and at the place that replaced our bearings......after touching the hub, OUCH they also carried BCTs and said they had no complaints. They were the D rated. DO NOT touch the caps to check for bearing heat.... the heat gun is a GOOD idea!!!!! :?

  12. :D Neat counter and lighting! On the C(other)asita Forum, a woodworking craftsman replaced all of the doors w/real oak(saved weight!) and hinged a counter just like yours! The hinge was above the frig door and eliminated the (ugh) :( bump but still gave the counter space when needed. Can't remember if he had the microwave or not. Very nice job.
  13. :( DO NOT use exchange propane bottles. You don't know if your local meth maker was the last to use it and for what reason :o Try to buy your propane at the highest altitude possible. The lower the altitude, possibly (this disclaimer is so I don't get sued  )the more butane. Butane is cheaper :o .Ok for the local charcoal grille but heat at 7,000 ft???? The best and safest place to fill your propane bottles is at a local propane dealer who fills HOME tanks. They won't be in business long if poor quality propane lets their local customers get cold a few nites!

And yes, our back burner didn't lite all the time either. Usually lit manually, though.
