  1. I have a 2019 Elite I (purchased Oct 29,2019). Would the bearing/seal numbers be the same for my model year? If not how could I find them?

    many thanks.. tom

  2. Here’s an added benefit to towing with my VW Touareg TDI. I drove from Iowa City to Cleveland yesterday to attend the Tri-C Jazz Festival. I averaged just under 70 mph (lots of construction in Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio) and averaged over 32 mpg. Filled with diesel fuel and drove 45 miles the day before on the full tank before leaving yesterday. I’ve now driven about 600 miles on that tank and still have almost a 1/4 tank of fuel. Of course, towing reduces the mileage but it’s nice to have such a fuel efficient tow vehicle for every-day use. Now, if VW hadn’t cheated on the emissions testing. . .

Hi Don, this is good to hear. Do you have the Andersen hitch with you Touareg/Elite II?

  3. On my trip back from Hohenwald from picking up my new Elite the main front driver's side window shade/frame fell off and broke. My first experience with Oliver service was amazing. The channel that holds the frame to the window had cracked and split so it would not grip the brackets that hold it to the window. The Oliver service technician I spoke with said a new frame would be sent out. A few days later it arrived. This kind of service is unheard of in the RV industry, thanks Oliver.

  4. Congratulations, I'm also taking delivery of a Legacy Elite (Hull 432) three days before you (March 18). I loved the size of the Elite and wanted a trailer that would be easy for me to tow. Long drive from Vermont to get it, but I'm excited.

  5. Hello neighbors, there aren't many of us up here yet, but I'm across the river in Bradford, Vermont and pick up my new Oliver Elite in two weeks. I didn't do the factory tour but spent time with an Oliver owner in northern Vermont. Would love to hear of your experiences as they unfold.

  6. Hope you love your new Ollie. I'm scheduled to pick up my new Oliver Elite on March 7 and am very much looking forward to it. Curious to know what you think of the size? I was torn between the Elite and Elite II, but went for the smaller one mainly because it will be easier to tow. I would love to hear what you come up with for a cover/protection system as I am wondering the same thing. Happy travels!

  7. I have a 2013 Touareg TDI (which has had the modifications) and I plan to drive down to Tennessee from Vermont in March to get my Elite I. The Touareg is an amazing tow vehicle and it should do just fine. You could argue that if a Touareg can tow a 747, it can handle an Olie.

  8. For me two things have been on my mind. One is maneuverability. There is a five-foot difference between the two, which does not seem like a lot to me, but it's something. The other thing is the weight, basically a 2,000 lb difference. The weight difference determines what TV I get. I have a friend with a Ford 250 diesel and what an amazing vehicle that is. But realistically a midsize seems more suitable to me. I'm pretty sure a Tacoma, or the new Ford Ranger would be fine with the Elite. I'm hoping to figure this all out and put in an order so I can get a new Ollie next spring.

  9. It seems from posts here that most Ollie owners have purchased Elite IIs. I'm trying to decide between the two. The smaller legacy seems to be an amazing use of space and might be easier for me to tow and maneuver. I am also looking for a TV and a mid-size pickup, like the Tacoma, seems suited for the Elite, but may not be enough for the Elite II. For those of you who have weighed both I would love to know what went to making your decision.

  10. Just sold my 2016 Winnebago Travato. I'm new to towing, am thinking about an Elite I, maybe an Elite II and am looking to get the right tow vehicle. Would love some suggestions; I realize there are different specs for a I & II. Ford is coming out with a new Ford Ranger in the spring of 2019 with a towing capacity Ford says will exceed 7,700 lbs, but the exact capacity has not yet been released. I'm thinking of waiting for this. Any thoughts?
