Your eyes are better than mine. I looked at those pictures a couple of times and came away thinking they were not even for an Oliver!

Back to the original topic, I live in a town of about 30k with a couple of glass shops and an RV repair place and nobody will touch my window repair. There's another town nearby of about 100k and with a Camping World and so I suppose I'll call down there and see what I can find out.

Just documenting for posterity / anyone in the future who has this issue...

  2. Hey, y'all.

In doing my Spring maintenance work I've noted that my EII's curbside sliding window has a leak and there's now water in between the panes. Curious if anyone else has seen this -- I've read about windows leaking but don't see anything about water inside the pane -- and have any advice as to where I might order a replacement and if I should try to do the swap myself?

I imagine these are probably standard-sized windows. Hope that's not wrong.

  3. I didn't realize that's what those were! I did find a little drain -- I guess that's the other side of the  "scupper" you mention -- under the North dinette seat but that whole area doesn't really look like its designed to be handle any sort of *real* moisture. To your point. Sort of a surprising design honestly.

I guess I'll check to see if the hardware store has some sort of plug that might fight in that hole without making it really hard to remount the composter.

    Thx!

  4. I'm doing Spring cleaning. I've removed the composting toilet and I'm looking at the hole in the hull which is above the port for my (unused) black tank and which would normally be under the composting toilet. There's really no gasket around the bottom of the composting toilet and thus I would expect that water from the shower must get under the toilet, drop down onto the black tank, and thus there must be a drain under there somewhere, yes? Looking at the manuals, it *kinda* looks like that is the case.

To be honest the reason why I'm asking is I would like to be able to do all of the cleaning and then rinse down the bathroom and not have to worry that any water which dropped down over the black tank would then be trapped in the hull.

    Thx y'all.

Curious our pump has always made this chattering sound at the end of its pressure cycle, never made much of it and its still working. Oh well.

Both of the ones I've had made a bit of sound but by the end the OEM-installed one was making *much* louder noises. And after I installed the new one it was a ton quieter.

I think the video doesn't do well to demonstrate the sound level.

Before I remove the old one it was chattering enough to make me, as a bit of a motorcycle mechanic, uncomfortable. Visions of the pump internals being shredded. 😉

What do I need to do before removing and cleaning the water pump filter to avoid spilling water? I've read enough posts about plastic shavings in the filter that made me want to check, even though I haven't noticed any water flow problems.

I turned off the valve just on the other side of the pump and then opened a faucet for a second. It spilled a little bit of water when I opened it but not much. Nothing a wash cloth couldn't handle.

  7. So both my bathroom and overhead fans on my '19 EII seem to have failed. I see that at least on the overhead this is commonly a moisture issue and usually involves a board replacement (and some custom water-proofing work). Anyone have a recommended place to order a replacement bathroom fan and the board for the overhead MaxxAir?

Given the "supply chain issues" I've had with motorcycles etc these last two years I'm inclined to just order complete replacement units and then pull the existing units for later refurb and or parting out for the parts shelf.

    Thx

  8. Hey, folks. I need to disconnect power from the trailer pigtail in order to clean the contacts and also to do a better job of water sealing that whole apparatus. Looking at the manual and wiring diagrams it seems to me like if I'm trying to be careful I should not only flip the 30A main breaker under the dinette but there's also a breaker that sits between the the 7-way and the batteries which should be flipped.

    Correct? Did I miss anything?

    Thx

  9. Congrats on the new rig! Glad you found the thread useful. Please make sure not to miss the Shower Beer section. 😉

I'm no longer full-timing and about 2 weeks ago I emptied the trailer while doing some routing maintenance. It took like 3 days to organize all of the junk I had been carrying in the Oliver for full-timing. Some of which I had put in there the first week I rolled out, never used, and then prompty forgotten about until I hauled it out again.

So that's a data point at least. 😉

  10. Not strictly about storage but more about space-efficiency. And, besides, I started this thread and it has been roughtly since we were talking about "shower beers" since it has been offtopic. 😜

So when I was full-timing I never really did come up with a way to handle dish drying that satisified my. I ended up stacking 2 drying mats on top of the the open area next to the sink with a bit of overlap over the stove cover. 2 mats because it helped soak up any wetness and keep the counter + stove from getting anything beyond moist and *not* a catch tray because I didn't find one that would store well.

Today while watching a video on re-seasoning cast iron I stumbled across a video where I spotted this.... :

    https://www.amazon.com/LLygezze-Large-Stainless-Drying-Kitchen/dp/B01HRJ5HI6/ref=sr_1_5

There are similar work-alikes on the site. I ordered one for my kitchen though I will definitely take in on trips with the trailer too to see how this compares.

  11. Ha ha! No dumb questions. For sure. It's one of the first things I looked at when I wasn't getting the expected results.

You know what I didn't check though? If the hose or the filter on the inlet port somehow clogged after getting enough fluid to flush the cold in the kitchen. I will have to check that when I get back out there today. I can't imagine how it could have since the hose is quite short and was inserted directly into a fresh A/F bottle but...

Are you sure that the hot water bypass valve is turned so that the handle faces the rear of the trailer?  The bypass valve is featured beginning about 1 minute into the winterization video.

.... (now this is an example of the blind attempting to lead the blind 😉)

Yes, sir. I actually never changed it back after sterlizing the system a couple of days ago.

  13. I've been through the winterization YouTube video at least a dozen times and so far I've only been able to get any anti-freeze into kitchen sink via cold water. I never get any pink via kitchen hot water and nothing at all through the bathroom sink or the outside shower. I thought perhaps the faucets were aerating the water in such a way that it was not apparent that anti-freeze was coming in so I captured the water into a cup to look for color and still nothing.

I get almost no pressure to the faucets even if I let the pump run for well over 2 minutes.

    Thoughts?
