  1. HDRider, sorry I forgot to include my Hull Number 759. Thanks for compiling the list!
  2. @dewdev I decided to not connect the two external condensate lines from the AC to the internal (Oliver) drain line. I did not want to compromise the weather seal between the new FreshJet AC and the roof of the Oliver. To connect the two condensate lines to the internal line it appears you would need an extra roof gasket. The two condensate lines run (sandwiched) between two roof gaskets. For the time being, I have capped off the internal drain line that leads between the hulls. I may change my mind and reconnect the lines at a later date. I was able to use the existing thermostat control box from the old unit. Note: You may not be able to use your existing inner ceiling cover from the old Penguin AC, the four main mounting bolt holes on the FreshJet are spaced further apart. I replaced my ceiling cover a couple years ago with one that was more flush with the ceiling, thus allowing me to have more head room in the Oliver, being 6’5” tall I needed the extra space. It is a more universal fitting and I was able to use this replacement cover without any problem. You may want to check with Mary (RoadLotus) on the type of cover she is using.
  3. RoadLotus: I have my Oliver connected to a 20 amp circuit in the bay of my workshop. According to the Progressive Industries monitor the AC is drawing between 12 and 15 amps, that is without any other loads on the system (and with the inverter battery charger function turned off). So far the AC unit has been on for about a day and a half without any issues.
  4. Happy to report that I have installed the Dometic FreshJet air conditioner on my Oliver this week. The install was fairly easy only taking a couple hours for two of us to complete. I rigged up a 3 to 1 pulley system in my workshop to lift up and remove the old noisey Penguin model. The new FreshJet is significantly lighter than the old unit, and a friend and I were able to stand on some scaffolding and lift it up and onto the Oliver. The wiring connections were easy to complete using the existing thermostat control box. I purchased the FreshJet 3 Series from RV Parts Country; $896.00 plus $124.00 shipping. So far my wife and I are happy with the performance of the FreshJet, it quickly brought down the indoor temperature and humidity on a hot Tennessee summer day. Best of all is the difference in the sound levels between the old and new units (69db versus 52db). Many thanks to @RoadLotus for researching the FreshJet and making everyone aware of this quiet AC option for the Oliver.
  5. MAX Burner, unfortunately I did not take pictures of my friends AC install. I am planning to take pictures of my install next week. My friends old AC unit had the manual controls on the bottom of the air distribution/return cover, which we were able to reuse. On my AC swap next week, I should be able to use the thermostat control box from the old Penguin AC, that would allow me to use my existing wall thermostat. I hope it all goes as planned. I will keep everyone posted. Alan
  6. FYI, last week I helped a friend replace the AC unit on his (some other brand) trailer. He was replacing an old Dometic Brisk model with the new Dometic FreshJet 3 Series 13,500 BTU. The install was pretty straight forward (plug and play), it only took a couple hours for two amateurs to complete the installation. My friend was able to reuse the existing control panel from his old unit. I was not able to compare the noise/sound difference between the Brisk and FreshJet, but I am really impressed with the FreshJet compared to my Oliver’s Penguin model. My friend and his wife say that the new AC is a game changer and will allow them to travel more in the summer season. I ordered a FreshJet for myself this past weekend from RV Parts Country, and to my surprise it arrived to my home in East TN in two days. My friend and I are planning to install it on my Oliver late next week. I will post more information after the install. Alan
  7. John Davies, you can add another Oliver camper to your list. We made our reservation on May 24, so we don't know how many vacancies are still available. Alan and Judy Wasik Strawberry Plains, Tennessee Campsite 30 Hull # 759 Looking forward to meeting everyone!
  8. I agree, the Obed is a special place. I have spent a lot of time there, and also at the Big South Fork (NPS), Frozen Head and Pickett State Parks in the Upper Cumberland Plateau area.
  9. The Obey and Obed are two separate rivers. The Obey river where rideandfly stayed is on the Dale Hollow Lake near the KY and TN state line. The Obed River is a NPS Wild and Scenic River located a little further south in Morgan and Cumberland counties of TN.
  10. Alberta and Randy, I had the same problem trying to figure out how to reinstall the egress window screen. The screen is mounted outside the widow channel using four metal clips. The clips snap into the edge of the plastic channel. Just hold the screen in place and push until you hear it snap. It took me several frustrating minutes to figure it out.

  12. Craig, I had noticed this setting in the app, John's repurpose does offer a great feature. I will give it a try in the morning. Thank you,
  13. NCeagle I like the idea of turning off the charger while still being on shore power. Could you share how you used the Xantrex software to turn the charger off and on. I have the 3000 watt inverter/charger with the Lithionics batteries. I downloaded the Xantrex app today, but did not see anything obvious in the settings to turn the charger off. Thank you
  14. For areas in TN I would recommend Montgomery Bell and Cumberland Mountain State Parks, both have golf courses. For something more off the beaten path Pickett S.P. and the Big South Fork NRRA (NPS park) are located northeast of Hohenwald on the Cumberland Plateau.
  15. Thanks to everyone for the nice welcome! I've been very fortunate to have had a career in parks, now I am looking forward to spending time camping in many of them, and exploring what other states have to offer. BlueHighways: I am very familiar with Burns TN, being originally from Dickson. John Davies: I have visited Deception Pass S.P. It has a cool museum on the history of the CCC. 16. Hello from East Tennessee, My wife and I are picking up our new Oliver Elite II next week and thought this would be a good time to introduce ourselves. I have been retired from state parks for a few years now and my better half is planning to work a little while longer. We are new to RV camping, so we plan to start with some short trips and eventually work up to traveling across the country. I grew up in Middle TN, so I am proud to know that our new Oliver camper is a Tennessee made product. I have found this forum to be a great source for information, and I look forward to meeting other Oliver owners in our travels. Alan & Judy Strawberry Plains, TN
