  1. Interesting that they say that it protects from any size hail. My parents live in Kansas. They had a severe hail storm 15 or 20 years ago. The hail was the size of small/medium cantaloupes. Some were disc shaped and as big as a dinner plate. My brother had one go through the rear window of his car and then shatter the underlying speaker. Kirk
  2. Excellent job! Looks great! I would love to have that in our Oliver!
  3. I have some of their products too. Great stuff!
  4. I agree Patriot. Unfortunately, cable don't add much security. I know of several case where expensive items were stolen after the cable was cut. To quick and easy to cut a cable. Kirk
  5. That has been our experience so far also. The solar panels have kept our batteries topped off, even when we have used our convection oven for some baking. Although, we haven't used the air conditioner yet.
  6. Hi Steve, We travel easily with two dogs, but one is a little French Bulldog and one is a 45 pound Standard Poodle. If you were going to travel in a smaller travel trailer, the Elite 2 with twin beds would be a good one to try. Our dogs sleep well between the beds. If they are too rambunctious, or if they don’t listen well, it would definitely be more challenging.
  7. Beautiful photos! We love that area, especially Baker. We have stayed at the Geiser Grand Hotel several times and enjoy Barley Brown’s brewery. We have also stayed at the camping area at Grand Hot Springs west of Baker, off of I84, it’s very nice too! Lucky place to spend part of your youth! Do you all drive down to Shelter Cove for fish and chips ever? Kirk
  8. That was Carrie and I in #1305! We stayed a couple of nights there on our way back to Idaho from southern Utah. Great stay. Their first trailer is an Escape 19. Beautiful area with nice trails and unique geographical features. Kirk
  9. Before our last trip Carrie and I added: Mopeka Pro Check Sensor - Wireless Propane Tank Magnetic Sensor Level Indicator. Simple easy installation. Just make sure you change the tank size to 30 gallons, if you have that size on your Ollie. Kirk
  10. Nice pictures Bill & Nancy! Looks like a great place to camp> Kirk
  11. Hello, From my limited experience needing a generator and using an air conditioner, I believe it will mostly depend on if you want or need to run the ac much. Here in Idaho we essentially never use our AC. If it were hot enough to need it we would find a place to plug in or leave our dogs at home. To charge your lithium batteries without AC use, the solar panels will mostly take care of it. For backup, or if you use your microwave/oven much, a 2000 watt Honda would be great. A 2000 watt generator will not power your AC though. Good luck! Kirk
  12. Congratulations on your order! We ended up waiting a year for our E2. We have been greatly enjoying it. Definitely worth the wait! Kirk
  13. We have one also. Works great! Definitely worth the money. Kirk
  14. Welcome to the club Mark! We’ve had our E2 for four months. We are loving it! I agree with your sentiment, we are all lucky to have such a great forum! Kirk
  15. Congratulations on your purchase! Welcome and good luck on your travels! Kirk
  16. Welcome Steve! Carrie and I bought our E2 the same way. We also had considerable experience with camping and bought our Oliver without ever seeing one in person. I didn’t have any concerns with making the down payment and waiting the many months for our trailer. We picked up on December 5th 2022. Everything has gone fantastic! We leave for another quick trip (to St. George, Utah) in 5 days. Still feels new and exciting. Good luck! Kirk
  17. When Bellingham comes up, it always make we want to go to Boundary Bay Brewing Co.
  18. Congratulations! Good luck on your travels. I like your tea-pot! Kirk
  19. Hi Dwain, I agree with what has been said. I have towed several trailers and boats through the years. Nothing has towed as well as the Oliver. I believe the contours of the Oliver help a lot in crosswinds. The double axle is very nice too. The size of your tow vehicle will have some impact. But, even with a smaller, but adequate, T.V. I believe it would be very difficult to have a better towing experience for a full sized travel trailer than you will have with the Oliver. I was quite surprised how beautifully our E2 towed! Good luck! Kirk
  20. We have recently stayed at 3 different places that would not allow any wood fires or charcoal fires. They did allow propane firepits and we were able to enjoy sitting outside in the chilly weather around our Outland portable fire pit. Other benefits are ease of use, quick setup and fast heat source, not hauling wood, and going to bed without smelling like a campfire. The disadvantages are cost of propane, lack of wood fire sound and smell, and burning pattern and complexity of a wood fire. Still, we won't go camping without taking our propane firepit along with us. Kirk
  21. It can be an issue for anyone living in the Rocky Mountains, the northern US, or most of Canada. We have had several worrisome drives in the past couple of decades heading south for a spring or fall trip, having hard freezes on our way to the warmer climates. Kirk
  22. That is different than the one we have. I believe you would have to remove the lock to slide it in. Kirk
  23. We looked at those as an alternative. If they make a larger size with a double axle, they will definitely be after Oliver’s market for the E2. Kirk
