  1. Our 2 5/16 bulldog is attached with two 3/4 in bolts. They aren’t covered by the Proven Industries lock.
  2. Welcome Steve! Good luck on all your travels! This is such a great forum. We found it very useful in preparing for our E2. Look forward to hearing about some of you adventures. Kirk
  3. Congratulation on the recovery of your Oliver! We have this hitch lock. I believe several owners on the forum have purchased this type of lock. Good luck! Kirk
  4. Fits with room to spare! I’m getting an 18x15x5 inch waterproof plastic case to slide it front to keep my tool kit in. Kirk
  5. I agree, it seems overpriced. I looked for a used one and couldn’t find one on eBay. I decided to pay that exorbitant price. I’ll let everyone know how it goes. Kirk
  6. I I am going to try an AluBox 124L. It weighs 16.5 pounds and measures as follows: external: 27L x 16W x 20.5H internal: 25.5L x 14.5W x 19H I am planning on mounting it in the tray with carriage bolts and it is lockable. However, this is a more expensive option. Kirk
  7. Welcome Rene! We live in Idaho. Always happy to see more western Ollie’s. Watch for us Arizona. We’ll be down there in 2 and a half weeks. First longer trip for us since we picked up our E2 in December. Kirk
  8. I believe most of the post on this thread, and similar treads covering this topic, have had valid points. Living in Idaho, I do wish there were options offered by Oliver to beef up the winter capabilities. Many “four season” camping structures have heated basements. We had a larger slide in (Host) with a very large storage area under the living surface and that area was heated. We never had to worry and sub freezing temperatures. It would be nice if Oliver had a heat vent for the subfloor/storage areas and maybe even an option for beefed up insulation. I found a 4 inch fan with a thermostat. I have to verify the thermostat can control temperatures down in the 40s (it is made for growers), if it can, I want to pull heated air from the living space on the curb side and allow it to circulate through the basement and into the street side storage, allowing it to vent out from the bathroom near the sink. The fan only pulls 18 watts max and can move 160 cubic per minute of air. I’m not sure how well the results will be for the farthest area (the bathroom) but I’m curious to find out. Kirk
  9. Hello, One of our broke on our first day driving home. They are very fragile. Kirk
  10. Hi Bryan, Carrie and I picked up out E2 in early December. I have towed several trailers and boats. Our last trailer was a similar sized Black Series HQ15. We were amazed at how well the E2 towed. Easier and better towing characteristics than any of our previous experiences. The E2 is a bit narrower and not as tall as the HQ15. I believe the contours of the E2 also help a lot. We had a long drive back to Idaho with a lot of snow across Nebraska and Wyoming. We also had a lot of cross winds 30-40 MPH. We never experienced and sway. The E2 towed perfectly. I have done similar drives in similar conditions with the HQ15 and it was quite a different experience. A lot of sway if you didn't keep your MPH lower with the HQ15. The E2 is also much easier to maneuver in tight spaces and backing up the the HQ15 was. Good luck! Kirk
  11. Welcome Christine and Rich! What an exciting time! Looks like you will be towing with your Nissan? Looking forward to hearing about your adventures! Kirk and Carrie
  12. Beautiful pictures Kathy! Kirk
  13. That is what I do also. I use Goal Zero’s version. Works well and it is nice to move it around where you need it. I have used it in several hotels or guest rooms also, when there are no close outlets. We also put it in our rooftop tent when we are sleeping up there. Kirk
  14. I would be happy to show our Oliver to interested people. I am not worried about liability issues. However, I am not going to get another credit card. Kirk
  15. For us, the only reason to consider a generator is to run the air conditioner which might need a more expensive generator. The only reason we would buy one would be to power the AC to keep the dogs cool while we were on a long bike ride while doondocking . I’m not sure that this would be a good idea, but it is the only reason I can think of. So far, from what I’ve read, the new Honda 3200 would be the best to accomplish this. It would probably be easier and cheaper to just make sure we we plugged, but that’s not always possible. I will test our setup this spring and see how much run time I can get out of our 640 Ah lithionics and our 3.6 kWh external battery on a sunny day in the low 90s and the AC set in the high 70s. If I need more juice, I might consider the new 3200 Honda with a BERG external tank. Kirk
  16. Happy Holidays to everyone! Looking forward to a great 2023! Kirk & Carrie
  17. Welcome and congratulations! We are recent E2 owners also. We live in Twin Falls, Idaho on the Snake River Canyon.
  18. From my understanding, it is not necessary at all. It does make the upkeep easier though. And, from my reading of other owner’s post, it can restore the shine to some degree. If you don’t mind periodically waxing your Ollie, it is not needed. Carrie and I are not good at such upkeep, even though we have intentions to do so. We decided to get the ceramic coating for this reason. Kirk
  19. I agree, I am definitely in this camp! Kirk
  20. When Ryan was showing us our E2, he recommended changing to the black seals. He said the white ones were too hard to keep clean. Kirk
  21. Yes, we have a master disconnect switch. The batteries have been great so far. I did look into getting them instead of the Lithionics. No way to get 630 or more amp hours of Battle Born into the battery compartment space in the Oliver. Kirk
  22. I agree with you Brian. Except, our Battle Born batteries already have an internal heater. They are close to a year old. We have two 100 amp batteries in the back of our truck. 🙂 Kirk
  23. I agree! We have used with our overland conversion. We bought it for a drive to Alaska that never fully materialized. It does work great though. We bought a large pelican case that the toilet just fits into perfectly (sealing in any potential odors) and we can put it in the back seat area of our 4 door Ram. We have an outdoor shower curtain that folds out off one of the roof rack. It can also function as a toilet stall, if needed. Kirk
