Just trying to clarify.  My truck is 3/4 ton.  However, a 3/4 is a FULL SIZE truck, not a MID sized.  My truck is over 21 feet.  Is a 3/4 ton TV allowed with an LE2 or is it suppose to be mximum 16 foot TV only?

I don’t know but I told them I tow with a RAM 2500 so I’m in the same boat and they suggested the site I have.   Like I said, right now they are telling me I can’t cancel nor change my reservation so while I won’t be there I’m not sure how we could get you the site assuming they are still good with a 3/4 ton tow vehicle

So far I've made it my practice to test the plug prior to connecting the camper and rely on the onboard progressive unit to do it's job.

I can see the interest some have in protecting the hard wired device, and have purchased a portable device but just haven't put it to use.

I purchased a Progressive Industries circuit tester before getting the Oliver. I leave it in the same tote that I store the shore power cord in.

Step one - Test the power supply. Step two - If good, drag out the cord and connect.

I do the same with the exact same tester. Once I know the plug is wired correctly I plug in and trust the onboard surge protector made by the same company.

EDIT 06/05/23. FYI Update with tent camping at the park. There are still some spots left if you want to attend and rough it for a while. Four nights for $100, unload your truck, walk to your 20 feet x 20 feet spot, park truck in nearby parking lot. You have to pay for four nights but you can arrive any time. This might be a way for a local Ollie owner to attend without actually bringing the trailer. JD

Only one standard size vehicle parking permit is included with your reservation. Absolutely no vehicles, golfcarts, motorcycles, scooters, trailers, or any other type of motorized or wheeled vessel will be allowed in the camping area. No Trailers, Motorhomes, or Oversized vehicles rated larger than a 3/4 ton pickup truck and vehicles longer than 16ft or wider than 6ft. Tent camping area is a pack in and pack out format a vehicle unloading area will be provided. Then vehicles must be immediately parked in the designated Tent Camping Parking areas. Tent camping parking areas are within close walking distance from the Tent Camping area.
Tent spaces are approximately 20X20 feet and only 6 occupants permitted per space. Only traditional tents not exceeding 300 square feet that can be secured to the ground will be allowed in the camping area. No Trailer or Vehicle type tents will be allowed.
Absolutely no fires, only propane grills are permitted.

Scroll down to the next posts for links to the RV park and some pictures. Places are going FAST, do not delay a minute if you want to come here in 2024. You will not be able to “wing it” and hope to find a place to park the day before, no way….. having a reserved spot will take away a huge mental stress. I am listing these in order received. Let me know if you want me to add info such as your real name(s).

While at the recent rally we spotted a Truma service van driving by our site and stopped the van and asked the tech a few questions. We were interested learning a little more about the remote control operation of our new Truma Aventa retro fit. The written instructions are translated from German to English and are not that good at all.
After answering our questions we then began talking about the Truma frig/freezers. The tech just happened to have a couple brand new C30’s and (2) new C36’s in his service van for sale. He mentioned to us that the Truma had a promotional sale price on the C36 which was 45% off and the cover was included at no extra charge. Long story short, we purchased a C36 at the sale price. When empty it weighs 50# which will be more manageable than a heavier unit.

We understood from the Truma tech the sale price was also offered on line but you have to add it to the cart in order to receive the discount. And you either get free shipping or a free cover not both.
With a 10% Ala sales tax we paid $755.00 total for the C36 and under the Truma promotion no charge for the insulated cover. 45% off seems like a pretty good deal with the normal price approx $1300 plus tax.

We got the same deal on the C44 at the Truma booth at Overland Expo West this past weekend.  Just a bit bigger than the C36 but still fits under the truck cover.

    @MnM
I have been thinking about buying the Honda EU3200i since it was announced last year. So today I placed an order for one from our local Northern Tool. NT does not stock these on the shelf in store as it’s considered a special order item. It was well worth the $250 savings for me to go to the store and receive my 10% Veterans discount. This brought the final price down to $2502.00 including tax OTD. I like doing business with NT and I like Honda products. They have served me well over the years.
I have also been in contact with www.hutchmountain.com and was told they are planning to produce an LP fuel retro fit for this gen. I am now on their list for a preorder of the LP retro fit kit. I presently have a Honda EU3000is which has the HM LP conversion kit and really like it however, at 130# dry it’s just a bit heavier gen.
This sure makes the EU3200i at 60# a much better option for our Oliver with the 13500 BTU Truma Aventa. The captured Bluetooth data is kinda cool too!

This fella does a pretty decent straight up “garage and field review”. Looks like a fun garage!

If I had a NT near me and could get the military discount I’d prolly do what you did.  The power specs at that weight are unbeatable but they certainly make you pay for that dearly.  Maybe someone at the Rally could test if a 2200 can start the new Trumas.

One thing to consider: If you’re getting the new 13500 BTU Truma Aventa AC on your Oliver, it will require a 3000 watt generator to run it.

I know the manual says this but I wonder if anyone has tried it yet?  I don’t have a generator but I do have a very good Fluke amp meter which can show peak inrush current when starting and have run the AC successfully of a 15 amp circuit protected with a 15amp breaker with zero issues.  Starting current is well within that of other “big” motor loads I can find around my house  such as my pressure washer and my worm drive skil saw.  My guess is one of the gensets rated for 2200 to 2500 starting watts could run it.  Once Running, the new Truma AC draws under 7 amps on high.

I’d love to test it but don’t know anyone with a genset here

  7. For those who are curious, I called Oliver and sent them pics of the fiberglass damage.  Their suggestion (short of bringing it back to them in Hohenwald) is to use a reputable marine fiberglass shop.  Their experience is that RV repair shops don't do nearly as good or work on fiberglass as a shop working with it all day every day.   As for color they suggest that they can color match it at the shop and didn't give me a color code or number.

So hopefully Tuesday after the Holiday the local fiberglass shop will get back to me and I can see if they agree with what Oliver told me as to color matching.

If it’s worth repairing, take it to Oliver and they will get you fixed up. They really know fiberglass and can do amazing repairs to fiberglass/gelcoat. It would look like nothing ever happened when they are finished.
I would never take it to a marine boat repair shop, just my 02 cents.
I hope it all works out for you.

Being in AZ, getting it back to Oliver is not really an option for us.   Will call them and see what they suggest. We knew the one downside of getting the Ollie is no easy repairs from Oliver for us. I’m pretty inclined to do most mechanical things but I’ve never messed with Fiberglass. We have a highly regarded small local fiberglass repair shop.  I’d go there over the RV repair companies here local anyways.

That is not a “chip”, it is a major hit. Did you hear it? I would take it to a marine repair shop that does boat stuff.

Is it located in front? Did the object come off your truck or was it one of those distressing ones you see coming toward you from the opposite lane? The kind where you think “Please please do not hit the windshield!!!’” Then CRACK, it hits right in your line of sight.., grrrr.

    Good luck.

Didn’t hear it or even see it. Didn’t come from our truck as the mud flaps would protect that trajectory.  Guessing one of the hundreds of semis that zoomed past us in a 30 mph headwind on I-20 WB in TX.  Also got big windshield star right in front of the sensor array near rear view mirror same day.  Heard that one.   Will be calling Oliver on Monday about suggestions on this plus a power plug which already has the ground lug falling out (flops around)

  10. Just got back to AZ from picking up Hull# 1337 and drove it almost 2000 miles exploring TN a bit then across Arkansas (I-40 & I-30), Texas (I-30, I-20, I-10), New Mexico, then Arizona (I-10).  Did 70 mph early on staying with trucks then pushed a bit faster thru west TX, but decided to slow down on last 2 days to 65-67 in NM and AZ.  Gas mileage significantly improves at slower speeds and entire drive experience just much better around 65 for us and our 3/4 ton Hemi RAM.  I think 65-67 will work best for us.

I was told this upgrade was scrapped and they are staying with the fiber-granite. It was a bit disappointing to me as I was told about it when we first started looking and then they changed the story after our deposit. Not that this would move the needle but when you look forward to something different it is kind of a let down.

Same story (sticking with Fiber-Granite) we have been told for our 9FEB delivery.   Will see in about 2 weeks!

Do I read that correctly? Do you have a Truma furnace as well as AC and hot water.

I don't see that offered on any part of Olivers web site. How did you find out about it??

    Thanks,Bill

The Truma Varioheat Furnace is the Standard furnace on the 2023 models.   Look in the 2023 Owners Manuals standard components section to learn all the details.

  14. We are picking up a 2023 in FEB of this next year with the Truma option.  Whether or not the much lighter and cheaper sub 2500W gensets will work with the "upgraded" AC has been a question for at least 6 months.   Knowing they are now delivering Truma equipped units, I asked our Sales rep specifically about powering the AC off of a Honda 2200 and if anyone at Oliver had actually tested it, or any of the many other sub 2500W  inverter Gensets readily available.  The answer was "No we have not tested it, but we think it probably would work."   He also noted that Truma recommends a 3000W generator as we've all read.   I'm hoping someone actually hooks one up and verifies whether or not it can start it. Barring that, my plan (when I get back to AZ and warmer weather) will be to put my Fluke ammeter to good use and see what the peak inrush looks like on Shore Power.

I asked when we paid our 50% the first of November. That’s when she estimated it would be 1361. She said they are assigned before building starts. 🤷‍♂️

I’m one for four on getting replies to emails since August, so I’ll just call if I need something.

Hull 1337 has a delivery date of 9FEB2023 if that helps any!

    Me!! 🤣

When we sent in our first half check last week, Anita estimated that they will be about hull number 1361 by March 29th. We'll see how close she is in 139 days. 😉

Jason told us last week we have Hull #1337 for planned delivery 9FEB... counting the days.  Interesting to note that from this thread my math says they expect to deliver 46 in 3 months and then 24 in a month and a half February and March.   That seems to be a pretty steady one every other day rate even through the Holiday's and model year changeover.
