The good news and the bad news - When I dim the lights, ALL lights (interior and exterior) dim.  There are times when I would prefer to only dim either the interior or the exterior.  However, this has never bothered me enough to rewire it.

The reason this happens is that Oliver has one 12v hot lead going to all the lights on that panel. If you install a dimmer you will dim all the lights. I need to get in there to determine if there is a better way or even if it is possible to dim individual circuits.

  2. They found that a piece of foam had come loose and was partially blocking the air flow and causing the noise I reported.  This happened during installation and was not noticed on pre-delivery check.  I spoke to Dave, the Truma rep that was at the rally, and he said it is not uncommon for those foam blocks to get dislodged during installation but there is a step to check them prior to installing the interior face plate/panel.

It's all good now, have not had any issues since.

I just look forward to the day Truma decides to update the CP Plus to include the de-humidification mode.  Not very "user friendly" to have to use the remote AND the CP Plus to get it to work.

  3. As I mentioned in a previous post, we were not able to get in to camp there but I highly recommend, as an alternative, Mt View RV Campground in ARCO, ID. This makes a good basecamp to explore the area.  View campground details HERE.

That being said, just north of there in MACKAY, ID there is a gem of a campground at the MACKAY RESERVOIR - the Joe T, Fallini Campground.

    Reservoir Campground Info HERE.

There are some beautiful drives and hikes in the area going north along the Salmon river.

We camped there for a week in our AS and look forward to going back.

What do you plan to replace yours with?

I found a good selection at Summit Racing - THESE look really nice and they are $10 for a set of 4 so you would need 6 packs of them to complete your trailer.

  5. @Ollie-Haus

Got my panel installed a few weeks before we took delivery.  I have a 50A circuit connected to it so I have to "manage" the connections to ensure I don't overload it. Although, it has breakers on the remote panel and the main panel.

With a 30A travel trailer it shouldn't be an issue.  I do like having the 20A outlet for other tools if I need it.  This model is from Connecticut Electric and I can close and lock the door with the trailer plugged in.

  6. @MAX Burner  Thank you so much!  I use Summit Racing frequently and, little known fact, they own DX Engineering!

My wife and I visited DX Engineering when we went to the Rock and Roll HoF and the Ham Radio store is right in the middle of the flagship Summit Racing.

    You cannot go wrong there!

Our set of Gorilla Lugs arrived from Summit Racing a few days ago

Can you post a Summit Racing Part number or number for the Gorilla Lugs?  Just want to ensure I get the right ones when I make my order.

    Thanks!

I will be checking air flow in our new Truma after the install next week while at Oliver and will post up if I learn anything helpful.

@Patriot Have you had a chance to check the airflow from your Truma AC?  Does it flow equally on both port and starboard sides?

Just want to ensure it is "ops normal" - probably is but want to be sure since I will be stopping by Hohenwald before the rally.

    Thanks -

Stacie started crying when she saw it. I think she's more excited than I am!

Sounds about how my wife reacted!  Drive safe my friend, you will certainly enjoy it.  We are still trying to get rid of that "new boat smell" but we love it.

@Patriot What a great thing to do, good for you.

Look forward to meeting you all at the rally. Truck is in for final service before departure next week.

  10. I was out checking things in the trailer yesterday and had the AC running.  I noticed that airflow favors the curb side of the trailer.  If you are looking at the AC from the front of the trailer (you are facing aft) there are two distinct "sides" to the AC unit. You can vary the direction of flow on each side and front/back ratio.

When I hold my hand up to the AC, there is clearly more air coming out of the curb side that the street side.

Is this a normal occurrence with the TRUMA?  I would think it would be much more balanced.

  11. If this has been discussed, I apologize in advance.  We have not had our trailer very long but recently, when we open it up, one or more of the tap lights is on. Only two so far, same side of the trailer, have had this happen. The one over the sink and the one just aft of that over the bed.

I wasn't thrilled with the idea of tap lights that one day might be unavailable and we can't source new ones and for the fact that this can happen.

Anyone have any background on this?  We are going to stop by Hohenwald on the way to the rally for another issue but we can address this while we are there if needed.

    Thanks all!

The Flagstaff venue has RV parking adjacent to the Expo

I have also been to OE in VA and they did the same thing. The corral with "the cool kids" was limited by the previously stated restrictions. However, there was an area right outside the corral that had everything from Airstreams to Class A motor coaches and the walk was not bad.

I spoke to Oliver about it and it seems they have talked to some at OE only to get the same answer we saw before. They want the rigs to be small, compact, and fully off-grid capable. Guess the Oliver looks "too nice" to fit in to that group.

It is a great event and we plan to go back.

with my AS running Goodyear Marathons (made in Korea, as I recall)... FYI

@MAX Burner we too are coming from an AS. They had just transitioned to the Endurance tire when we got ours.  Everyone called the Marathons "May Pops" because you never knew when one may pop... 😉
