Table Leg Storage

I had to find a storage spot for the table legs.  The previous owner placed them on the floor and that didn’t work for me.  The first thought was standing up in the closet, but I needed a way to control them.  I thought of different options to attach them to the wall.  When I came up with this solution it dawned on me that under the table seemed an excellent use of some unused space.

The PVC blocks are taped on with 3M VHB squares and the clips are screwed to the PVC blocks. Road trip in 3 weeks will verify my solution.

We keep ours in the closet, don't know why we even take them along. I had to remove the one "thingy" on the floor, so we could fit the dirty clothes container under the bed. We never used the table, as a table, anyway.

I was in the "archives" today, looking for some vinyl headliner...  That's why I actually know where our table leg is... With extra camping gear, spare parts, etc, on the rack. Next to bags of old sails, and extra fabric, and a roll of fiberglass mat in the box...

Haven't used it in many years. We just leave it at home.

Do you make up the bed and break it down at night? Nice neat solution if you do.

We carried ours in the closet, upright in a velcroed strap for a year or two. Then just kind of kicked it out to the archives...

Thanks for the comments!

We are not sure how we are going to use the bed just yet. We will try it both ways, as a full time bed or change it daily. We have to use it some more as it is still very new to us. Heck we might even mod it to twin beds. Time will tell.

Since our side dinette has to be made into a bed EVERY night for our Doberman, Reacher, we had the same problem.  I solved it a couple of years ago in much the same manner you did. I mounted the same beckson clips you used, only in the closet.

We have camped with friends that have SOB (some other brand) trailers. With an 'artic' breeze coming off the lake, and a cold raining starting, we all gathered in the Oliver. Normally we keep it made up as a bed, but it only takes a few minutes to make the table setup. 6 of us dined quite comfortably and no one seemed eager to leave. The Oliver had more space around the table and just seemed the right place to be. Happened a few times over those three days. Just glad we had the table legs with us. Think we will order some clips. Maybe mount under the center of the table?

LOL, I guess we Oliver owners tend to think alike - count me as #3 who ended up with the same solution.  I have the twin beds so I placed the clips under the lips of the beds.  With the overhang and bedspread, you can't see them but they're easy to access and don't take up closet space.  I glued down my PVC blocks with 3M 4200.  I wish I'd taken the time to chamfer them like Steve did - nice job!

I guess I should know that I can’t teach some of you old dogs new tricks. Especially when I try to sneak boat hardware by a couple of boat people.?

Randy, I am 6’ tall and I have about 4.5” between my knee/leg and the clips. They would also fit in the middle as Canoe12 mentioned.
