The biscuits had thawed somewhat because I didn't change the refrigerator over to propane when we left the house for the lake. When the mistake was discovered after arriving at the lake, the biscuits froze completely again, overnight.

As I set her coffee cup over near her, she started to pry the stuck togather biscuits apart, with a butcherknife. :o

Yep, one slip later and Betty had became butcherknife. The butcherknife went through the palm of her left hand and out the back.

She insisted that our vacation would not be ruined over such a "silly" thing, but one of our friends there in camp was a wound care specialist. With his help we finished up the vacation at a much slower pace.

That's a hard way to "earn" a handle !

Though somewhat more than a nick, it none the less earned her a "nickname" !

I would rather wake up in the middle of nowhere than in any city on earth 08' Oliver Legacy Elite HULL NUMBER 0003(sold)

Mountainborn:

When I got to the part in your story where there was a wound care specialist in camp I thought you were heading to reaching in the old tackle box and a needle and 2 ft of monofiliment fishing line later your lady was back in business -- no worse for wear.

Being an AF retiree, I know that almost all handles are earned not by the strokes of wisdom we perform -- but those less than Einstein moments.

Mountainborn, would have liked to have known your grandmother ! Welcome home, brother.

Butcherknife, a painful way to earn a cool handle!

Earthdancer, you know I love your moniker and your pictures!

Mine was horsefolk on other forums as my late wife and I had and raised Quarter Horses for almost 20 years. With her passing and the gift of our last horse to her 2 daughters, I could become what I wanted to be, a tumbleweed. 8-)

Yahoo just wouldn't let me spell it the way it's usually spelled!

For the best part of 20 years I have used scuba as a nickname for almost everything. For anyone who doesn't know, that is the abbreviation for the Submillimetre Common-User Bolometer Array (an instrument used on the James Clerk Maxwell Telescope)... <!-- s;) -->;)<!-- s;) -->

Just kidding, as mountainborn certainly knows, it's actually an acronym for Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus. It has been my email name with several different ISP's. Anyway, as more and more people discovered the internet and email addresses, it became difficult to hang on to plain ole scuba. Being both a scuba diver and a Pharmacist, I just added the Latin abbreviation for recipe (Rx) and scubarx was born.

Miss Tali and I live near the Natchez Trace in Tupelo, MS (yeah, that's right-Elvis' Birthplace.) Anyone traveling along near here is always welcome to stop by and say hey.

Meanderthal, didn't I see where you had stopped down at Davis lake? That's only about 25 miles from our house.

No Tom, I didn't meet you, but it might have been your trailer that I saw in the Wal-Mart parking lot about that time. That was my first view of an Oliver. I drove around it a couple of times hoping I would see the owners. Unfortunately, they were not "at home." I had never heard of Oliver and went home to look on the internet. I have never owned an RV but have lusted after one for years. Now Tali and I are about to take the plunge. I plan to place my order this coming Wednesday. Maybe we can meet someday. This family of Oliver owners is really amazing, everybody on the forum is so nice and helpful.

Hope to see you out there sometime......
