Great catch! I too much interested in propane monitoring system. Is this a new thing?

On our older 2008 trailer, the propane gauge just shows opn. Not connected.

I'm wondering if the new trailers have a gauge installed like the motorhomes we deliver. Not very accurate, but better than nothing...

To keep from rehashing previously discussed info, please see this thread. I have bought and installed the Mopeka system and I can report that it works like a charm. I recommend it to anyone that wants another toy for their box.

On this web site, where it says explore the Elite, (both the Elite and EliteII), it states a system standard to monitor both the batteries and propane. One can only imagine it would be the actual propane left in the tanks, NOT the residuals from combustion or leaks. We are not interested in adding any new systems, toys, or monitors. However, if there was a sensor that we could add to our existing, non functioning monitor, we might consider adding. It must now be available if it is being touted as a feature...

The Oliver does not now have, nor has it ever had, the ability to monitor the propane levels onboard. The See-Level monitor system can read a dedicated sending unit if you have one mounted in your tank (which we do not.) In my opinion, the Mopeka system remains as the best aftermarket answer.

Thanks for the recommendation. I never saw that product before and have been unsuccessful looking for something that works. Anyway, I ordered two today and just FYI for anyone, they were a very good price at Tweety's RV, an online store, that had them for $34 each. Way under Amazon.

Thanks, again.

Yes, I see that, Mainiac. That would certainly be a new feature.

Did you have any issues getting the monitors to register on the tank. I have two, set up the app and tried to get them to register on the tanks. I had three tanks, one empty, one partial and one new. Both monitors will only read them as empty. I have read the minimal instructions, the bottom is relatively clean, positioned in the center, stable (not even on the trailer yet) and the signal strength suggests that is not the issue. I left them for over five minutes and have reloaded the app once time. Any advice?

Thanks.

Be patient (I know, hard to do). They will work properly but it took several hours on mine. Plus, don’t be switching them around from tank to tank (like I did) thinking that will solve the problem.

Occasionally, they will still act up for a few minutes but they always straighten themselves out.

We've never had an lp monitor, other than lifting the tank, or running a hand down the side to try to gauge the difference in temp.. We run one tank till it's gone, switch over, and fill the empty.

Luckily, the primary tank has rarely emptied in the middle of a winter temp night. After camping with our trailer for awhile, we got a feel for how much propane we used in varying weather. The ability to carry two tanks, for us, is very useful.

We tend to use tractor supply and other places that charge by the pound or gallon for a fill. We don't have to wait for empty to fill a tank.

For us, it's not quite like running out of gas in the truck. We always have that second lp tank... ready to go.

Thanks for the advice. They did actually register sometime from my first post on Sunday to this afternoon. I am leaving, if the hurricane doesn't disrupt too much, this Saturday for three weeks in New England, lots of opportunity to test the system. Again, thanks, appreciate the counsel.
