Are you out there ? In the Blogisphere, I mean ? :o

Betty and I have been posting to a Blog for several years. It has became a bit dated and we have began to look at other blogs features, ect..

So, we have found the one that some here use, to be more user friendly. We are in the process of moving some photos and short stories over to the new blog. It looks a bit rough at this point, but it is out there. We have about half of THE MOUNTAINBORN CHRONICLES moved over to it. The dates are misleading because the software shows the date they were migrated over to the new blog. Please scroll to the bottom and read towards the top to be in nearly cronological order.

Here is the link:

I know that others here also have blogs, some we suscribe to, others we may not know about.

Maybe we could list them here so all could enjoy ?

Has your blog ever under gone a change ? I notice that the technomadia's site has been redesigned. Boy, ours sure has ! In the past, there was little that I could write about that occoured during the normal work day. Most of the things I was involved in as a Police Chief were someone's personal business. So I wrote about huntin', fishin' and other mountain life style things.

Now, however, I am within five days of retireing and have began to write, kind of in a spotty way, of getting ready to leave America's work force. And of our new camp hosting job up in the Rocky Mountains.

Well done, my friend, you have more than earned your time off in retirement to head out in your Ollie and go where and whenever you want . . . there will always be bad guys to be caught and put in line, now it's someone else's turn to tangle with them as you and Butcherknife head out to the great outdoors . . . :) Find the most difficult geocaches . . . :lol: Catch the juiciest catfish . . . 8-) Go to the best RV rallies . . . ;) Who knows, you may even find a little time to get Betty's "Honey Do" list completed . . . :roll:

All of our forums bloggers have updated their blogs since they holed up for the winter. There is some fine reading there, and a good way to keep up with what your fellow Oliver owners are up to. Each of the listed blogs can be suscribed to by clicking on the FOLLOW BUTTON. It's plumb easy, just scroll down to the follow button, click and you are on your way to email notification of new postings and there is a clickable link , so you don't have to hunt it up in favorites.

Most of our bloggers post good photos, some post excelent pix and some post video updates of their travels and of timely topics. When our bloggers post about something, it is because it has grabbed their attention and is worthy of a second look.

Pete and Oscar ( PETE & THE WONDER EGG ) http://www.peteandthewonderegg.blogspot.com/ are down in Florida, helping family for a bit, but Pete' blog has some of the greatest campground write ups around. I expect that he and Oscar will be out and about soon.

Chuck and Gehri ( HAPPY TRAILS ) http://www.phunnyfarm.blogspot.com/ just arrived at their resort & Spa workamper site and will get settled in soon. Their descriptions of roadside atractions contains excelent photos and tells us about the details we need to enhance our travel experience.

Larry & Betty ( THE MOUNTAINBORN CHRONICLES ) http://www.mountainborn.blogspot.com/ mixes pix & flix in with redneck commentary about their daily grind. They leave soon for their workamper job in the Rocky Mountains.

Chris & Cherie ( TECHNOMADIA ) http://www.technomadia.com/blog/ blog extensively and travel/work along the way. Their desert bar video report that was filmed just off of historic old Route 66 in Arizona is a good example of their journalistic works.

I'll bet that there are other bloggers that could be listed here ! Just post or PM and we will list your blog !

In case any of you are interested, I have just updated our travel blog! I'm not totally caught up yet, but getting there. Chuck and I have arrived in Truth or Consequences NM and started our new job at the hot springs spa. The soaks in the mineral springs are wonderful! I just took one at 6:30 am! (8:30 am Florida time!) Since all of the photos on the Riverbend website are so beautiful, I haven't rushed over to get any of my own!

The link to the spa website is: http://www.riverbendhotsprings.com

I hope your travels are as happy as ours! :D

As blogs, social media, and "all that stuff" have morphed over the years, so have my travel postings. This year's 6 1/2 month wander had sporadic postings on my 7 year old travel blog since I would often simply post a nice picture of our location at the time on Facebook. There were two impacts of this behavior . . . 1- Folks who had enjoyed "Pete and the Wonder Egg" over the years and were not on my "friends list" could not see the latest exploits of Oscar . . . 2- The postings on FB usually were quick looks into where we were at the moment and they did not have the goofy story-line coverage that a blog entry could show.

I've been intrigued by the fact that folks totally unknown to us watched the adventures of Oscar the Smiley Dog as we've traveled across the land and I hope that it would bring a smile to their day. His girlfriend "Isabella the Italian Greyhound" had her people bring her to meet Oscar as we travelled along Route 66. Bob and Bonnie emailed Oscar while we were in Florida years ago and now we are all good friends and share time together as they winter-over in Texas.

How do you share your travels ?

Things have changed a lot since we started the forum. Facebook is a much bigger factor now. I don't visit facebook much, though.

Thanks, for the link.

Because I'm enjoying the handful of blogs I've learned about since joining the Forum a year ago, I wanted to find out what others are out there. After an unsuccessful search for a list (not counting the Blog tab on the Oliver website), I found this thread & decided to resurrect it with the hope that I'm not the only one who loves to live vicariously through all of you.

These three are listed in this thread. There are others listed, but I don't think they are Ollie owners. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

--> http://mountainborn.blogspot.com/ -- hasn't posted since 9/2016

--> https://peteandthewonderegg.blogspot.com/ - (Peter Marks) Retired blog 7/2018 but is alive & well on Facebook.

--> http://freedom2roll.blogspot.com/ (Mike & Gerri Mercer) - Still posting

Since joining, I've started following & highly recommend:

--> http://supersizelife.com/ (Debbie LaFleiche)

--> https://travelswithollie.com/ (Russ & Janie McKnight)

--> http://www.twolanetouring.com/ (Dave & Cindy)

--> https://www.facebook.com/LucilleTwoOurOliverTravelTrailer/ (Hasn't posted since January)

--> https://www.youtube.com/user/ReedLukens (Reed & Karen Lukens) (Hasn't posted in 11 months)

Many of you are decreet & quietly have your website listed in your signature. If you have a blog or are aware of other Oliver owners who have blogs or vlogs, please add them to this list. There is so much more to discover!

BTW, John Davies really should have a blog. I do enjoy all his posts even if I don't have a clue about what he's writing. ;)

Our blog isn't on YouTube, that's just the movies. I made movies for years but basically retired almost completely from it this year. The continuation of our blog is on this forum, here -

http://olivertraveltrailers.com/topic/reed-karens-blog/

We went to a desolate part of Arizona that had almost no cell service from January to March and I was back gold mining as a hobby. I tried posting a few times but the service was too slow to post pics, so I lost interest for a while... Now we are back traveling finally and at a place with good service ?

Reed

Another way to see what people are writing is to visit their profile page on here, then scroll down and choose their topics. John's page and posts are all listed on his page and basically it looks like a blog when you put the posts all together ?

Great to have other blogs posted, we will check them out.

Our blog is www.twolanetouring.com. Our goal is to visit and photograph the 417 National Park Service units and that is the primary reason we purchased our Oliver Elite. Our blog has been active for over three years and we post at least a photograph every day. On travel we do a daily diary and I have dedicated sections to camping sites, restaurants and galleries of the National Park sites we have visited and photographed (but always running behind on that!) There are about 150 galleries up. We also have photos of the Oliver under "gear" and gradually add upgrades to the photos - most of those ideas came from this forum. We will complete New England parks over the next four weeks. There are the occasional short essays on camping, costs, photography, planning etc.
