Alternate Plumbing Diagram

Recommended Posts

The attached three images shows a plumbing flow diagram rather than an approximate physical layout diagram.

The images are for later Legacy II models.

I print out all three and lay them out side by side when trying to follow water flow.

Please advise of any errors or omissions.

I have not verified the accuracy, but, many thanks for the effort.  I printed and included in my "library" of onboard knowledge.  Did you use Visio software to produce this flow diagram? Nice work.

As a new owner our first night camping, one thing I did not realize, but quickly figured out, the boondocking arrangement is for pumping in water to add to your onboard tank.  Being a new owner (and sometimes not too bright), I thought the Boondocking configuration was needed when not relying upon pressurized city water.  What I learned, the "normal" valve configuration is used both for pressurized city water and for using the onboard pump to use water from the onboard water tank.  I only share my ignorance in case another new owner is initially confused by the meaning of "Boondocking valve configuration" in the Oliver Owners Manual.

CedarForks,

Very nice work.  All trailers will have a check valve in the black flush line and some have a ball valve as well.

Additionally, all of the early models used two 3-way valves in place of the four on-off ball valves to accomplish the same task.  Some also have flush valves in the hot water line.

Thanks for your effort

I have one of the LEII models with two sets of valves. Like CedarForks, I spent time figuring out what each valve does. I made a summary document, which if I uploaded the file correctly, others can download. I have a copy taped up on the inside of the pantry door.

I haven't actually seen these with my eyes, but Hull 218 has check valves in both street side fresh water inlets in back. You can tell they are there because when you remove a hose you only get a small dribble of water out, and this design  is intended to drain the outer section so it won’t freeze. You don’t see any appreciable back flow. I don’t believe there is one in the boondocking port which is suction only.

I like your first diagram, thanks. I actually labeled the mounting board that my valves are attached to, using a black Sharpie, with arrows showing which way the water goes “ To Tank”, From Rear Port”, “To Pump”, etc.... It is hard to work the system without some references.

You can also directly mark water lines with arrows showing flow direction, with a double-headed arrow if it is bidirectional. Like a well run ship, we are are striving for this:

Thanks. I’ll add the check valve.

Yeah: that’s why I specified that it only applies to later Legacy II models.

Can one just say that valves 1 & 2 emulate a three-way valve as do valves 3 & 4 ?-

That is Correct...

Your three files really simplify our understanding of the water systems in my 2018 Olive Elite II.  I hope that you don't mind, but I combined the three files and reformatted them a bit to fit on one page.

Geronimo John: Thanks for doing that: it's much better to have it all on one page.

I've received some comments pointing out a missing check valve. It's minor. but once corrected, I'll send the amended diagram to you.

I had been trying to figure out the same thing as both Cedar Forks and GeronimoJohn...so I combined together the works from GeronimoJohn and Cedar Forks along with the original 2019 Elite II Factory Plumbing Diagrams into a complete PDF.

(I also have this as a powerpoint , .ppt file)

Submitting for your use or comments.

Repeat ...I think this only works for the 2019 Elite II.

"Nice job" to all of the above contributors. VERY useful.

I did notice one very minor omission... the overflow tube on the fresh water tank is not shown. Not a big deal, but I recommend that it be included for the sake of completeness if nothing else 🙂
