First Impressions are ⬆️⬆️⬆️

Recommended Posts

I have approximately 15 years in retail, just as many in military service, and last but not least 20 years in public safety.  I’ve been retired (at 55y/o) for almost five years, and have been considering downsizing and going small since.  It’s me and two cats.  In my youth (1970’s) we had a pop-up camper that we used over several years.  In the eighties & nineties collected  a lot of camping equipment but rarely used it, and eventually selling all of it.  I have siblings that have “camped” for years pulling trailers here and there, and one of them now lives full time in a class B+ and is stationary until sometime in 2019 when they retire begin exploring.  Thus my growing urge to do the same … start exploring full time until I can no longer do it safely.

I stumbled on Oliver by accident.  I was reading a post on FB where someone posted “Check out Oliver Trailers” in reference to another’s question on finding a lightweight, well built, and small four season trailer.  So I pulled up the Oliver site and really liked what I saw.   I requested information and received a couple of emails from Phill A.  I joined the Oliver Facebook page and saw where Phill A. posted a suggestion on running a HDMI cable I was now more impressed.  After a phone call, several text and emails I have an Oliver referral visit soon.  I will certainly post my impression after the viewing,  To be continued …

Welcome! We stumbled on the Oliver as well while looking for large molded fiberglass campers two years ago. Your first impression of the Oliver camper is pretty much typical of other folks and as you dig deeper you’ll be just as impressed. You’ll see posts of praise for our service department but again that is just the beginning. The Oliver quality starts at the top and continues throughout. The folks building our campers do a great job. You’ll be able to see that easily in the fit and finish. Everyone cares about what they do. Enjoy the search!

If you can find a way to fit a factory tour into your investigation, you would be well served to do so.  They are really put together with quality materials though out.  In the meantime, if you have questions - let them fly!

Welcome, these really are the coolest trailers, they are stunning when viewed in person. The most common first reaction after the wide eyes is “WOW!” The interior is polarizing, you either hate it or you understand why it is like that, and you then love it. No plastic electric faux- fireplaces, cardboard trim, carpets or stapled plywood cabinets here! It’s all designed to be easy to care for and to look great for decades.

They are not exactly light though. Compared to a conventional RV the same length, when loaded with some options, full tanks and your stuff,  they are fairly heavy, like little white bulletproof tanks. Be sure you don’t skimp on a tow vehicle. This is especially important if you plan to wander all over, all the time.

Thank you for your service in the military and as an LEO. Please fill in your personal profile and add a signature if you remain interested in Ollies.

Welcome! An important benefit of being an Oliver owner is this forum, which I visit nearly daily. It should be considered an important, unofficial, part of Oliver's "customer service." The vast experience and knowledge gleaned from Oliver owners has been invaluable to me. Often a good source of entertainment as well.

Hull #389.

Options:  Stowage basket, propane connects.

Tow Vehicle: 2007 Ford F250 V-10, 4WD, Crew Cab, Long Bed.  Stock.

Recovering Airstream Owner (The Silver Sieve)...it was a rolling apocalypse.  Fridge was quirky and ruined food (famine).  Had weird electrical problems, circuits with breakers thrown still carried some current (possible fire).  Leaked (flood).  Mildew from leak gave me cold-like symptoms (pestilence).

Fellow Oliver Owners:

Interested in camping outside Yellowstone at the Yellowstone Edge RV Park? It's a premium park, 30 miles outside Yellowstone NP on the Yellowstone River. There is an open spot from 30 May to 6 June if you call pretty quick. I booked these about 11 months ago, so it may be a good opportunity for ya'all.

Due to the left two wheels flying off my Ollie and subsequent repairs, etc., the trailer won't be repaired for a few weeks, minimum. So, this lovely RV park, comes highly recommended from my awesome Aunt Linda, has openings. One closed door may open some camping opportunities for one of ya'all. I have cancelled my reservation 30 minutes ago and got a partial refund, so i'm just offering this up, as camping around Yellowstone this quickly, at such a nice RV park is kinda rare. The opening may fill up quickly, I don't know.

They have full hook-ups and super nice bathrooms and laundry. Cool, thanks, Lanham
