Damaged Oliver

Recommended Posts

Anyone seen these pictures before? If so, do you know what happened to it (or have a guess)? It’s a 2015. The current owner states that the original owner hit or backed into something shortly after purchasing, damaging the AC, awning and some fiberglass. Another note I found references a rollover, but if that was the case it would have also damaged the solar panels and the vent pipe. The marks on the curb side appear to be road rash, but maybe rubbing against something while still upright?

Looks like it fell on its side to me. I've been told of one Oliver that skid on a snowy road and flipped - possible that this is it. And I know of one Oliver that did back into something, but I've seen those photos and it wasn't this bad.

You said current owner? Has it been repaired?

Looks like it did an "Artie Johnson" on the passenger side and the weight of the a/c is what caused that to shift on the roof. Doesn't appear to me that it actually flipped, but, that is possible. Give the guys in the shop a week and it would look just like new. Please, somebody take care of this poor thing!

It looks like a low speed flip, some of the damage was perhaps done by the wrecker pulling it back up onto its wheels. I am very surprised that more stuff on the right side was not affected. The entry grab bar and  fender flares look undamaged, how is this?

The frame is badly twisted. Bad things often happen when a trailer goes over and the coupler binds on the ball. The forces involved are enormous..... this trailer looks as if it could be fixed but the cost would be more than a brand new one. If it had had an offroad coupler on it, the damage may have been repairable. Bulldog couplers are super strong. Maybe if this had a cheap coupler, it would have popped like an electrical fuse, and saved the frame.

My guess is that the TV was totaled also. Interesting pics, thanks very much for posting them.

The grab bar looks broken and bent back to me.

To me it looks like it went on its side and then hit something that crushed the top.

My guess would be side swiped by tractor trailer. Or trailer fish tailed side swiping the same or a wall. If it fell on its side you’d see damage along the entire side. This appears to be hit twice as if it bounced off as it was the hit. The damage to the front appears to be from when it fish tailed the rear of the tow vehicle Damaged the front.

Can you imagine what a stick built or Airstream would look like after similar trauma? Is this poor Ollie reparable?
