Wish I'd known you were there. Buffalo Trace is a family favorite.

Lovely campsite!

Ollie in the Wild!

Bandits Roost CG in our beautiful home state of North Carolina. Nice large sites and clean facilities. Highly recommend this CG.

In NC looked liked the fuel shortage was easing so planned a trip to Wilkesboro NC.

Debbie and I had the privilege of spending time with David and Kathy (Patriot) for a few days at Bandit's Roost ACE campground. We had a fine time exploring the area for a few days with perfect camping weather!

Camped earlier this week at David Crockett Birthplace State Park TN in North East TN. It was in the upper 80s close to 90 some days. Found a shady campsite in the small RV area to make it pleasant. Campsites are close together in this area, but really enjoyed the shady trees. It's a beautiful mountainous area.

On our way from Bardstown, KY to Fall Creek Falls State Park, TN we stopped by Hohenwald to see the new sales office and service area.  We had a good visit with all the Oliver folks and were impressed with the new building.  We stayed the night at Amber Falls Winery, a Harvest Host location.  We’ve been to Amber Falls many times as a result of our visits to Hohenwald.  We had a great tasting and a quiet evening in the vineyards.

Camping in the vineyards.

Debbie and I camped at Linville Falls Campground on the Blue Ridge Parkway earlier this week. It's a Federal campground without electric or water hookups, but beautiful and $10 per night with the geezer card. High temps were in the upper 70s.

We spent a few nights up at Bear Den. We really enjoyed the 2800’ elevation and much cooler sleeping weather and of course camp fires and great food.

On my way to do a little fishin I stopped at Chris' Camp in Spearfish, SD.

At checkin a worker at the park excitedly told me that there was another one of "dem" campers that he'd never seen before right here in the camp.  He insisted that I hop into his gold cart so he could show me and we drove to site 74 but nobody was home.  Hopefully we'll get a chance to have a mini-rally later!

Spearfish has a nice municipal campground, too.  We stayed there on our way to Glacier a couple years ago.  Spearfish looked like a nice little town.  Mike

We’ve been working our way from San Antonio to Maine since early July, stopping at state parks, COE parks and HH locations.  We recently stayed at a Winery/Farm in Rhode Island, Leyden Farms, a HH location.  Their wine is good, the outdoor event area is great and they have really paid attention to where their HH guests park.  A great location!

Camping in Vermont this weekend.  We’re at Grand Isle State Park at Grand Island on Lake Champlain about 20 miles south of the US-Canadian border.  Glad we brough sweatshirts, it didn’t get out of the 60s today.  This is a nice park, well maintained.  No hook ups, but large sites and lots of privacy.

Camped at Mt. Pisgah NC on the Blue Ridge Parkway to get out of the heat in the lower elevations last week. Highs at home in the mid 90s with high humidity. Highs at Mt. Pisgah, at 5000', were upper 70s and lows lower 60s at night.  Found a nice shady site, did not take solar panel this trip, just gen-set. No electricity or water on these sites, but can't complain at $10 per night with the Geezer card.

Use a 15 gallon Camco tote and tow to the dumpstation daily, hard to completely empty Ollie's tanks with downward sloped dump station in both directions, prefer to use a tote.

Nice campground for a walk:

View from the top of Devil's Courthouse on the Blue Ridge Parkway, we had been seeing smoke from Oregon fires, but this shot turned out OK, nice hike to the top, too

Mt. Pisgah is one of our favorite places on the Parkway. Enjoy the fresh, cool air!

I understand the restaurant at the inn is currently only open for inn guests, during breakfastand lunch. Such a shame. It's one if the most beautiful views of any restaurant,  in the morning, with that big wall of glass.  Later in the day, the sun moves on, and it's not great.
