Isn't it wonderful to be able to slip into those smaller spaces? Looks like a very pretty spot.

Boondocking in the only non-electric space in the Quail section of Dead Horse Ranch State Park (AZ).  We just fit as the height restriction was 10' for RVs shorter than 30'.  BTW, there was one more Ollie II staying in this section of the park - from Colorado.

Hi,  we just missed you but I think we did meet that couple, Terry and Laura, from Colorado.  They left Dead Horse on Monday.  We left on Tuesday and are now in Mather Campground at Grand Canyon.  We were in site 65  I think it was Red Tail Hawk Loop.  We head to Page AZ next on our way to Zion.  We are in the Pine loop at Mather.  The only loop open in the winter.  It is very tight and no hook ups.  It snowed this afternoon with highs in the low 40s and low teens tonight.  Dead Horse was mid 60s during the day and high 20s to low 30s at night.  Water at the dump station was frozen in the morning at Dead Horse.  We liked Cottonwood, Gerome, and really liked Sedona.  Sedona did seem like it could be very busy.  Safe travels.

Yes, it was Terry and Laura.  We had a hiker stop us and ask if there was an Oliver Meet there as they thought they had seen at least 4.  I think they counted Terry and Laura twice as they had moved to a different space that became available. 🤗

Charlie.

It’s a fun drive up the mountain to the campground!  That looks close to our last site there.  Mike

Second year here. Last trailer was shorter so more spots from which to choose but still worth the risk of the long twisty drive in to see if a spot is available.

How’s the new 2022 Tundra working out?  Which model did you get?  Please share any details about the truck you care to.

Arrived at Lake Powell, Page AZ today after a night in Williams.  Williams is a cool little place with a section of route 66.  The last section that was used in till I-40 was completed.  Also the town is where you can get the train to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.  My phone camera didn't do justice to the setting sun!

dont know how to react to the wood block comment...?  seems to work just fine.

Yes, exactly - It looks good, it helps limit the travel of the jack itself and it helps in the event you accidently drove off without lifting the jack.  Nice job.

Sorry forgot the photo.

We were in Page last month.  As the level on Lake Powell goes down they are rediscovering all kinds of interesting rock formations.  If you have time it’s worth a stop to see Horseshoe Bend. We posted photos on the previous page.   Mike

Fritz, that looks terrific, I have never heard of it. Granite is a nice change from the ever-present grey basalt in this area. Could you possibly start a new thread with extra pictures? I will be headed down that way in a month, going toward Great Basin NP and would like to stop by there a couple of nights.

Here is a screen capture showing the location, it is almost Utah.

City of Rocks is an 1.5 hours from our home town. We have been climbing and camping there for 22 years.  Unfortunately,  when the weather is nice, the camping in the park fills up quickly.  There are boondock opportunities close by.  Also, there is a state park (Smokey Mountain Campground) close by as well as an additional adjacent park called Castle Rocks State Parks that is also beautiful and has additional beautiful climbing and hiking.

It is one of our favorite places.

Pollen city?

Certainly there is Spring in the air (wind).  It doesn't take too much practice until one gets to be a real fan of boondocking!😁

Have a bunch of fun!

We really enjoy camping at COE campgrounds with the Geezer card discount. This campground is rural and not very far from Kentucky. A host told us about some good local places to eat, too. One fellow told us we were in the "retirement" section and the kids liked another part of the campground. We were on site 5 that is so low it will flood in the winter when there's heavy continuous rains.
