OK, just can't stand it.  Unfortunately wifi and cell is so bad in Dillon, MT that I can't attach a picture but after three weeks south and east of Hamilton, MT in the high country I am presently camped right on the banks of the Beaverhead River.  Tomorrow I will hit it looking for that 20 inch brown trout that (from all reports) lives here.

I'm really not all that far from Steve & Tali!

Catalina State Park just outside of Tucson last month.  We’ve made reservations for next January already.

This is Canyon Point USFS Campground.  It’s about 30 miles east of Payson, AZ.  7,700 feet, perfect weather in early August (low 50s at night, high 70s afternoon).  There are two loops, some sites hav

Hi Bill, I love that part of the state, be sure to check out Bannock State Park (a stellar ghost town, but no camping) and the Big Sheep  Creek Backcountry Byway. “Passing beneath the high rock cliffs of Big Sheep Canyon, one can look down into clear, deep pools of spring-fed Big Sheep Creek. Perhaps nowhere else in America can one see so many trout without leaving the car.”

A word of caution to those who have never been in that area, there is zero cell service away from the major highways and the towns and services are VERY far apart. As always, a satellite communicator and emergency gear is advised when traveling the back country, and top up the tank often if you aren’t driving a diesel.

Yep, friends simply don't seem to believe me when I tell them how bad the cell service is in this area of the country.

Unfortunately there is presently a relatively small forest fire over near Bannack.  Up until the past ten days or so there has been well above average rainbut a lightening strike caused the Bannack fire which is 20% contained but "only" about 160 acres.

Taking 95 to 55?  Cascade is a beautiful area....as is McCall.  Last time on that road I was pulling a 30ft ORV....one of these days I'll get use to White Bird Pass :)  Wish we could buzz up there for the weekend but our dog just had surgery for cancer and need to keep a good eye on  her over the weekend.

We did take highway 95 to highway 55. We are now snuggled in at French Creek FS Campground.

Last night we were down by the camp host but since we didn’t have any reservations we had to move this morning to up on the hill.

Stopped at rest area along I-10 in FL panhandle, a Casita pulled up beside me and two gentlemen from Arizona asked to check out the Oliver.  They seemed to be quite familiar with the Oliver story, and were quite impressed with the tour.  Oliver sightings are rare, it seems.

Three Olivers in Bakers Hole National Forest campground the other day, all within sight of each other.  Our neighbor thought we were all traveling together.  It was great sharing a meal, conversation and a hail storm with Theresa and Greg from Wisconsin and Bill (Topgun2).

Yep - yours truly was another one of the three with hull # 269 being the third. Certainly a mini-rally it was with a pot luck supper, sharing stories and mod ideas, Ollie tours and attendance prizes (well, maybe no prizes but the view was wonderful until the hail and t-storm hit). Thanks go to ED & Marsha AND Greg & Terresafor making it a good rally. Greg really makes some mean chicken legs!

How cool is that. Three Ollie's in one campground, without a previous plan.

Love it. Glad everyone had a good time.

Assuming no damage in the hailstorm?

Nope, not a problem with the hail.  As we sat the storm out in Greg & Teresa's "Gazelle" (a screen house very similar to the Clam) we joked about going over to an Airstream that was in the same camp and asking them how they were doin'.  But we decided that the "fun" of doing that was not worth getting wet.

I thought I would share the BLOG my wife and I created showing the trip to pickup our Oliver Elite II - (Hull 505).

We did the trip in early August 2019.

The way the blog is setup you can click on the links at the top of the page to see either the "Trip to Hohenwald" ...or..."Jump to the trip home"

(The pickup is on the first page of the "Trip Home" section.

This should work on either a computer display...or a phone...

I give this link to prospective buyers when they come visit to see our Oliver.

Here's the link...
