We have our reservations for Lady Bird park for the eclipse-Fredricksburg can be kind of crazy on any spring weekend traffic wise so hopefully we will come fully ready to stay in place at the park and just be ready to enjoy the park and meeting other RV people-esp Oliver people.

Speaking of eclipses, we had a great view of the total lunar eclipse last night from outside of our Oliver at Liberty Hill COE campground between Waco and Corsicana.  The solar eclipse should be even better.

Using historic data for cloud coverage, Mexico and Texas are predicted to have better chances for viewing.

We had cloud coverage in our area of NC last night.

May start looking at Liberty Hill COE, too.  We like COE campgrounds. Believe the earliest reservations can be made at a COE is one year or less, will investigate.

Edit: Looks like one year maximum  booking window for this campground, unless special allowances are made for 2024 Solar Eclipse.

THANKS! I just grabbed Site 11, there are plenty of spots as of this MINUTE (“We have made a few reservations today”) but you should act fast FAST if you want a reservation. It would be great to have a mini Ollie rally here. This is for a Friday arrival through Tuesday morning departure, four nights, the eclipse is Monday about noon. Full hookups including wifi. They have a primitive camping overflow lot, but that is not reservable.

Here are the official rules and info, you should read them all and then call with your credit card handy.

This shows the location with the path of totality:

If you click a spot, a popup appears with details about the eclipse at those coordinates. This is for Frederiicksburg. 4 minutes 23 seconds of totality! Woohoo. That is almost twice as long as my last one.

This is 1950 miles from home, that will be quite a drive just for a total eclipse….

Hey John, I'm a new member on the Ollie group and reading through the "Eclipse" conversations. Sounds like the Ollie owners enjoy the "ride" and getting together. I raise cattle on 47 acres about 7 miles from Waco and would be interested in knowing the best way to offer camp/RV sites to Ollie owners for the eclipse in 2024. There's plenty to do in Waco, before and/or after the eclipse. Plus, Baylor University is presenting, from Baylor McLane Stadium, an extensive program with the Lowell Observatory and Discovery Channel. Any help or suggestions on how I can help with an "Ollie" rally, please let me know.

Thank you!

Great info  - seems I have a date in 2024 - probably some where near Mena Arkansas - my old stomping grounds.

Have you found a campsite/RV Park near Mena, AR?  We live up in NW TN near Paris Landing State Park. If you know of a place in AR, we would be interested.

Thanks!
