Which fridge do you have?

The dometic rm2454 does not have a light.

I don't know about the current model Norcold, but most single door  3 ways don't have interior lights, in my experience.

Perhaps in a small fridge, a light would take up precious space?  Our RV Dometic fridge (which I do not like) has plastic shelves and blue LED lights.  However, I find the light is mostly blocked by food in the fridge, so pretty useless.

Do you know the model # of your current dometic, in your van/ motorhome? Is it all electric, or a 3 way?

Thanks.

RMD8555.   It is 3-way, but really only works well on propane.  It is not as efficient storage wise, with no shelves in the freezer door and the plastic fridge shelves are poorly situated with little adjustment.  We added the wire hanging shelf (picture 3). The crisper bin, as supplied by Dometic is one big drawer with a divider; we replaced it with two pull out plastic bin drawers.  It has never cooled well, for us anyway.  We have to run it on the coolest setting (level 5) and make sure to avoid direct sun on the fridge side of the van to keep the temp below 40 degrees.  I suspect the plastic shelves impair airflow some which makes cooling less efficient.  It could also be something about the installation in our particular RV.  We had one of the older Dometic two-door fridges with wire shelves in a 5th-wheel and it worked so much better.  No electronic controls; the temp adjustment was a sliding mechanism on the front of the cooling fins.   I will be so glad to be rid of the RMD8555; but it does have cool blue lights.spacer.png

If you just think you need a light in your fridge I'm sure there is an LED stick-on one for sale out there, of course you would have to turn the switch on to use it. So I counted all the LED lights on the inside of the trailer, our trailer has 29, that the standard ones,  that's not counting the LED'S on the switch panels and other control panels.

There are some sticking,  led battery operated lights, motion sensor activated, that might work.
