Chantilly CG, Floyd Va -

We landed a beautiful site and are still here at Chantilly after a week. Got in a great visit with family and explored around beautiful Floyd County. The temps were just perfect. The Ollie has performed seamlessly, can’t ask for more than that.

We like the road less traveled. So from Floyd we took the Blue Ridge Parkway all the way to the Fancy Gap exit and then got on I-77. 72 degrees and a glorious ride in the cool breeze of the BRP. A fun 8 days adventure. We met some really neat and funny people.  So now we are looking forward to our next trip.

Great pictures and trip! I hope to do a similar trip soon. We are in the Raleigh area and pick up our Oliver mid October. Seems like we have been waiting forever. We started out as backpackers, then migrated to tent camping. This will be our first experience with a camper/trailer. Better late than never though!

Let me see -

New Ollie, the Blue Ridge Parkway is right between Hohenwald and Raleigh, and, it is mid-October for the leaves.

Of course there is also the Natchez Trace south and then over to Florida and back up.

Or, there is the grand tour heading West, winding up in Quartzite in February and taking the southern route home.

Choices, choices, choices!

Almost a shame that the Oliver is your first camper/trailer.  Perhaps you'll think that they all are like this.

Thanks Bill, so many choices like you said. This time it will be down the Natchez Trail a bit, then home. I got a list of places to go. But you can believe I will not think all travel trailers are like the Oliver.  We did a little research first.  Hope to meet you on the road sometime soon!

If you have never done the Trace before from Hohenwald  then be sure to head just a couple of miles north.  On the east side will be a turnout for a nice little waterfall.  However,  if you are camped south of Hohenwald I wouldn't bother coming that far back for it.

Have a good trip.  Note that the camping areas on the Trace may be closed - Meriwether Lewis camping was closed when I was there September 1st.
