Custom Fabricator for Plastic Cutting Board

We found a vendor that would fabricate a custom plastic cutting board for the kitchen. The main objective was to protect the glass cover over the stove top and provide a defined work area for various chores. We purchased a slightly undersized 24" x 31" piece with full bull nose edges and 1" rounded corners. On the bottom we installed half-round rubber bumpers. If interested, suggest that you contact- plasticcuttingboard.com.

We used a recycled wood cutting board salvaged from the old Home Ec. room of our high school.  Stragecially installed screw on rubber feet so it anchored securely to the grate of our 5th-wheel's range.  Later we used it over the glass cover of our campervan's cooktop.  Will use it the same in our Oliver.  While it won't create one continuous counter, it will take up less space to stow out of the way when using the cooktop.

That looks really nice. We fabricated something smaller for the boat.

Where will you store it when not in use? On/under the cushions?

I just throw a towel over the glass top. Doesn't give me the big, nice work surface of your new top, though.

Storing under a cushion is a good idea . . . . . ours would have to be under one of the mattresses.  We have a silicone dish mat that fits perfectly over the cooktop's glass cover, for extra protection.

Don't forget the folding dish rack, that will fit in a drawer.

I like our folding bamboo dish rack.  I place a drying mat under it.  It is easy to store just about anywhere.

What is the name of that dish rack?

Here- its a perfect size, captures water off wet dishes keeping counter top dry, does not hold moisture like wood racks and stores nicely.

We found a cutting board will fit on the drawer, which adds some counter space. Also gives a space to put a hot pot that won't burn a fiberglass counter

I'm assuming the drawer rails are sturdy enough to support additional weight.
