Day/Night Blind Retention

Has anyone improved the attachment method of their blinds? We have an ongoing problem while in transit, specifically with the spring clips along the bottom. Upon arrival the blinds routinely hang loose away from the wall and in some instances completely detach. Thanks in advance for sharing your creative fix.

LOL, this was a problem four years ago, I guess yours is from that vintage. It is easy enough to correct.

Please post some pics of what you find. Let Oliver Service know too, fill out a Ticket.

Hi John

I revisited your flip thread prior to posting my request but after visiting the trailer today (you’re right, vintage hull #141). I’ll need to return shortly as I think my clips are drilled into the window frame-no spacers. Will the spacers dramatically improve retention?

Hmmm, I have no idea. Maybe you should contact the Mother Ship and see if they will send you some. They must have started adding them for a reason. Please post a comment on that other thread if you learn something. Good luck.

You could try bending out the clip a little for a tighter fit. We had trouble with ours coming loose but the solution had nothing to do with the blinds - I just lowered the tire pressure down from the absurd level that Oliver used to use.

Several years ago I too had the problem you describe.  All I did was to gently perform the "spreading" operation that Overland talks about above.  The key to doing this is to find the right tool and/or have these spring clips in your workshop where they can be held in a vice while you are "spreading" them.  Since I was on the road I did the "operation" with the clips still attached to the wall.  However, some kind folks let me rummage through their father-in-law's tool shed until I found something that had just the right width.

Good luck!

We were having the same problem shortly after delivery so we just place a drop of caulk on each lower window clip only; this will solve the problem.
