Imminent E2 Owners

Hello, we are Mike and Sue Mroz from NC. Both of us will be retired next year. We are looking forward to realizing one of our long-time goals: to travel the 49 states and Canada. We will not become full-timers but we expect to spend a lot of time camping including some boondocking. While we have never owned an RV, we have done a good bit of tent and cabin camping.

Having no ownership experience in RVs, after much discussion we decided on getting a relatively small two-axle travel trailer. Requiring quality, we focused on Airstream. Eventually fiberglass caught our attention and shortly afterward we discovered Oliver. After much research including a lot of time studying the Oliver forum and university, and a factory tour, we decided on an Elite II twin. We ordered in October and will pick up hull #850 on 7/21.

Looking forward to becoming part of the Oliver community! It’s a pleasure to read the very informative forum. Almost feels like we know the regulars. Looking forward to meeting you!

Welcome to the "family". As you have already gathered, there are really no strangers here. You can ask questions, and you can expect many different answers, some may actually be correct.

Welcome from Maine, and hull #211...

Mike and Sue, welcome to the forum. We live in the Western North Carolina foothills the land of long summers and very mild winters.
Congrats on your new Ollie!

Welcome Mike and Sue!

A small travel trailer was a retirement goal for us as well.  We were new to the RV scene, and we also started our quest looking at Airstreams.  We actually discovered Olivers on an Airstream forum.  No irony there right?

Not long for you to wait now.  The excitement builds...😁!

Welcome Mike and Sue.

We've loved our trailer for just about two years...and here's our Website where we catalog travels, discuss modifications, and share info about various campgrounds.

https://4-ever-hitched.com

One of the features of the site are links to the Oliver Trailer Outfitters list on Amazon.
The links are at the TOP and Bottom of the web page... or here:   https://amzn.to/2mAAgPO

The list has dozens of items that we and other Oliver owners have acquired over the years...each has a note in the upper right corner of the listing describing Oliver specific topics like how it fits, where it's stored or how it helped.

Hope you find our website with campground listings useful and that it helps you stay excited while you await delivery:

Howdy Mike & Sue,

I was ready to pull the plug on one of those Airstream tin cans until I started considering the frequent Illinois hailstorms we encounter.  I discovered what it cost to repair the dents in the aluminum; WOW!  Then I learned of Oliver on an Airstream forum.  We placed our order in September 2020 and  picked up R-Villa, Hull #803 on May 17, and we are so happy that we made that decision!

Welcome!

Welcome from hull #12. We've been "part timers" since 2008 in NC. We have a camping property in the mountains,  to escape the Florida heat, and base to jump off to Northern points beyond.

We love North Carolina.  And, the people. We've always felt welcome.

Enjoy your new Ollie. Hope you have as much fun as we've had, for the last 14 seasons with ours.

Welcome and congratulations on your new Oliver. We’re new to Oliver as of February pick up but not new to camping. The smaller Oliver has opened lots of new opportunities of travel that we could never get to in our 42’ 5th wheel. Wishing you lots of happy adventures in the coming years!

Thanks to you all for the warm welcome, information, and some humor (unless Mainiac really meant it about correct answers :). It just makes us that much more excited about being part of the Oliver family. Looking forward to seeing all of you in our travels!

He probably did. Or didn't. 😁

Most people here weigh their answers with their experience.
