Windwalker
I have unit #83 a 2015 Oliver Elite ll when hocked to city water my fresh tank fills up and runs out the overflow, I am using a pressure regulator at the city water inlet hose, when using the onboard water pump the water pump cycles about every 30 seconds and when shut off and allowed to set for a few minutes it runs for awhile to pressure up, there are no leaks that I can see and suspect the pressure is bleeding off at the intake to the fresh water tank, the pump was replaced a couple of years ago so I don’t suspect the problem is there I did take it apart and found nothing abnormal. Anybody have a thought on this, I’m thinking about putting a check valve on the intake side of the pump. Marc

Moderators SeaDawg Posted August 23, 2021 Moderators Share Posted August 23, 2021 I think you were probably on the right track, with faulty check valve. Post 8, maybe 7. I'll see if I can find another thread, with unrelated content. Imo, that's your issue. Again, welcome back. 2008 Ram 1500 4 × 4 2008 Oliver Elite, Hull #12 Florida and Western North Carolina, or wherever the truck goes.... 400 watts solar. Dc compressor fridge. Windwalker
That’s not my problem the overflow and drain line exit just to the rear of the steps the video that you sent would indicate a leak on the left rear probably indicating a broke closed valve on the city water hock up
Moderators mossemi Posted August 23, 2021 Moderators Share Posted August 23, 2021 I am known for asking silly questions, so please don’t be offended. When I look at the 2017 plumbing diagrams, I don’t see how the water from the city water inlet can reach the freshwater tank unless the valves are in the wrong configuration, they are defective or it is flowing backwards through the pump. Am I missing something? Mossey 2 Mike and Krunch Lutz, FL 2017 LEII #193 “the dog house”
Overland
8 hours ago, mossemi said: Am I missing something? Nope. If water is getting into the tank from the city water port, it has to get through either the valve or the pump. That, or your ports are mislabelled. 1
Moderators SeaDawg Posted August 23, 2021 Moderators Share Posted August 23, 2021 Sorry for misreading your problem, @Windwalker. I think Overland and Mossemi have offered good information. 2008 Ram 1500 4 × 4 2008 Oliver Elite, Hull #12 Florida and Western North Carolina, or wherever the truck goes.... 400 watts solar. Windwalker
My understanding is in the valve configuration for using the water from the water tank with the pump you can also use the city water am I missing something here. Thanks to all that have commented to this post.
Moderator+ ScubaRx Posted August 24, 2021 Moderator+ Share Posted August 24, 2021 The water pump comes on in response to the change in water pressure when a faucet is turn on. Since when connected to city water you would normally have the power to the water pump turned off water is supplied from the city's water pressure. However, IF you are connected to city water AND you have water in the tank AND the water pump is on, you're still going to get water when a faucet is turned on. You can tell which system is active by listening for the water pump to kick on. But, doing so may cause a disruption in the space-time continuum, make the tides reverse and start a chain reaction.
