As you all know, campers owe a great debt to the CCC. They built so many of the wonderful parks that we camp in yet today. I've personally lost count of the number of statues I've seen of "Iron Mike" in the parks, commemorating the contributions of these young men (and women) who built so much in our nation during the days of the Civilian Conservation Corps.

There was a wonderful article in today's St. Pete Times about the CCC and a man who serves as a guide at the CCC museum here in Florida. Thought you might want to see it, too.

more info about the CCC is available at : ccclegacy.org

Sherry,

I have admired the beautiful buildings, water fountains, common picnic area coverings in several of the parks here in Texas. Bastrop State Park near Austin, Texas has several works of the CCC.

I think Palmetto State Park further south in Texas has more of the CCC works. It would be a fun journey to visit all the places in Texas where the CCC left its legacy ( as well as in all the other states). Thanks for sharing. Jam49
