Any ideas on reattaching this

Good idea.   3M makes some great products and you make a good point.

Hull 505 has has that support block lost once and fall off twice.  Even with good cleaning, and JB Weld.

When I get home from Alaska the block will be bolted on after cleaning, scoring, and JB welding.  

I hope to not have to fix this a 4th time.

Got a note back from service stating that they started scoring back of block in the 2021 production to improve adhesion.  My block was an older stock 2020 version smooth on both sides.

The blocks on my cover never came off, but after seeing a few owners have issues, I secured all three blocks with white pre-painted aluminum trim screws (available at any hardware store like Lowe’s, etc., but I had some in my garage parts stash from a previous house project).  Drilled through from the outer surface of the cover and into the aluminum block and then threaded in the screw.  With the white painted head on the screw, it’s barely noticeable on the white fiberglass.

If it were mine, I'd clean the surfaces and use VHB tape and give it 48 hours to set.  The industry has been using this stuff for years and I have, too.  One of the major solar installers uses it WITHOUT screws to secure solar panels to the roofs of RVs.  They claim they've never lost a solar panel, yet.

NOTE:  For that application, I used it WITH screws 😉
