Quartzide Newbie

Picked up our trailer in September and we are throughly enjoying the whole experience.  People, places, and learning about RV living.  We are heading to Arizona this January and decided to do the Quartzide experience.  Saw a Mike and Carol post about Dome Rock area camping.  Wondering if Oliver owners get together at a certain spot?

As I understand it, the basic answer to your question is - YES.

You may want to PM Mike & Carol and/or ScubaRx for more details.

Wish I was going too!

Yes, Dome Rock is the spot.  If you exit I-10 where the Love’s is and then continue on the access road west on the south side of the freeway a few miles you’ll get to the Dome Rock area.  It’s a big chunk of desert but easy to drive around looking for other Oliver owners.  We’ll be in Arizona in January as well, not sure if/when we might visit Quartzsite.  There should also be a bunch of other fiberglass trailers there as well.  I’ll post a few pics so you can get an idea of the area.  Mike

One of the main drags at Dome Rock, Olivers congregating, owners in the middle of the avenue exchanging information.

I will be in a group of three Oliver's arriving together in late January or early February. We will all be at the Dome Rock area.

I rode my bicycle through the BLM land southwest of Quartzite a few years ago on my way to St. Louis from San Diego.  I saw several trailers and motor homes.  I talked to one Canadian woman who goes there every winter to get out of the snow and cold of Canada.  I want to try that with our Ollie.

The area called Dome Rock is about 4 miles due West of Quartzsite. It is a mile or so South of I-10 (you can see it in the distance.) This is where we'll all be camped. You're actually closer to Quartzsite coming from Oregon than we are coming from Mississippi. You should plan on coming down. We usually go over to Death Valley NP and/or Joshua Tree for a few days. It's actually pretty pleasant (temperature wise) that time of the year.
