Door holder rubber grommet online source/ part number?

Recommended Posts

This was posted in the past, I can't find it.

Grommet is 3/8" outer hole, 1/4" inner hole, and about 1/16" thick.

Steel holder piece is 5/8" diameter.

I can buy a big set like this, but that seems like a waste for one grommet...

There is a great specialty vendor for o-rings called The O-ring Store, but they don't have a sister company for grommets.. ;( Thanks.

The last set (individual grommets) I purchased was found at Lowe's and the set before that was at Ace.

Good luck!

UPDATED:

The 5/16" ID grommet from ACE and Zoro fit our door holders.

Available at ACE HW and from Zero online.

It has the center hole for the latch at 5/16".
The holder on our door has a groove opening (also called the drilled size DIA) of 7/16".

Also for specifying grommets I found this on a Grommet MFG site...shows how they specify grommet dimensions.

Galway Girl's advice on measuring is VERY sound - over the years Oliver has used different hardware for the door catches (I'm assuming that this is what JD wants these grommets for).

JD  I have a 2022 LEI. Under warranty one of the grommets went bad , Oliver sent me a couple…. I was at my favorite Ace hardware and looking at the Hillman Drawers and saw those grommets, I didn’t get any , but I think one would fit..  Hillman Headquarters is 10 mins from me..  Try your local hardware store…

Golfnut -

Certainly your advice is sound.  However, note my post above and I'm reasonably sure that the grommets your Ollie takes are a different size versus the ones that JD's Ollie takes.

Found this particular 5/16" ID grommet fit perfectly in my bracket.
It's designed for a 7/16" holder hole. (Groove)

You can buy this at most ACE HW and also from Zoro online.

The grommet hole of 5/16" is big enough to securely hold the latch but not so hard to push the latch into the hole.
When I tried the earlier listed 1/4" ID grommet it was simply too tight.  The latch would try to push the grommet out when inserting.

Again...your holder may be different.

Anyone want 99 , 1/4" grommets ...let me know.

Is what it is.

We occasionally discuss a lot of "stuff" stored that we "should" delete to make life easier for our daughter when we're no longer around.

For the most part, she's going to be busy.....

not quite ready to part (yet) with all tools/spare parts/ junk/ decorations, etc, etc, etc

We've had a number of garage sales over the years in the interest of getting rid of extra "stuff" we really don't need. I'd say we average $400-$500 intake for what amounts to clutter to us. Still seems like there's a lot of extra stuff around here.

We just donate it!  I don’t like strangers looking at the “good stuff” that I’m not ready to part with.  It does amaze me the stuff people will pick up at the end of the driveway.😁

We do the same thing occasionally - we call it doing "The Big Purge".  It's very satisfying on many levels, IMHO!  Ha!😜
