Anybody in Flagstaff, or coming to Overland Expo

Recommended Posts

We are considering options for durable trailers, either an Escape, Oliver, or Black Series.

All season/all weather is most important criteria, followed by something that won't rattle apart on dirt roads.

We would really like to see one in person, though.

Is anybody in Flagstaff/or going to come through Flagstaff this summer?

If you contact Oliver TT, they will get you in contact with an existing owner in your area so you view their trailer and  ask them questions.

They will not permit an owner of an Ollie of any size to camp there at OE. I sure hope that the Oliver reps talk to them about that strange decision. And they are not listed as a sponsor. Anyway, use …  See an Ollie … to find one to look at…. I suggest the LE1, considering where you live. You can fit a offroad coupler to it if your tow vehicle is big enough. The LE2 requires an equalizing hitch on everything except a HD truck, which can be very aggravating on rough terrain.

Been to the OE many times - always on the BMW GS1150, however.  The Flagstaff venue has RV parking adjacent to the Expo, don't know about the Loveland, CO venue for RV camping, though.  All in all, a Great expo - incredible setting, Flagstaff.  Too bad Ollie's don't make the cut to camp within the OE area.  Some of the RTW rigs make the OTT look like a peanut.  So, size isn't the issue for attendance - it's all about the off-road "Round The World" capability of the rig.  Met some great friends there, for sure.1221842970_Screenshot2023-04-30at05_31_12.thumb.png.a5e5013438d50781467bdbda5a6566f8.png

I have also been to OE in VA and they did the same thing. The corral with "the cool kids" was limited by the previously stated restrictions. However, there was an area right outside the corral that had everything from Airstreams to Class A motor coaches and the walk was not bad.

I spoke to Oliver about it and it seems they have talked to some at OE only to get the same answer we saw before. They want the rigs to be small, compact, and fully off-grid capable. Guess the Oliver looks "too nice" to fit in to that group.

It is a great event and we plan to go back.

We're looking at possibly attending OE in Loveland this AUG... Fun time in CO that time of year, just FYI.

We and our 2023 LE2 will be at the Flagstaff OE this year.  The Ollie will be in the Air Force Campground right next door to the expo starting Sunday.  Staying with my Brother in law in Flag before that with the Ollie there.

Have a great time at the OE in Flag -- it's getting better year after year.  If you're a "Dual-sport" MC rider, they usually have the URAL sidecar MC dealer from Scottsdale there - he give free test rides... FUN!
