New Truma Pro Plus Control panel.

Do I see in this photo at the bottom left the original thermostat on the wall remaining to control the heater? We're having our Truma retrofit done on June 22. I hope the Dometic thermostat can be left in place.

@MobileJoy

That is not the OEM Dometic digital thermostat you see in the photo. I made a suggestion in April to Oliver to consider using this Honeywell furnace only digital thermostat in the below link. It was approved by their electrical engineers and is now an option when having the Truma retrofit done. Otherwise you will get the Dometic mechanical thermostat. So no Oliver is not using the original dual control thermostat. I much prefer the look, fit, and finish of the digital Tstat below.
This ended up being particularly helpful to me as I presold our Dometic Penguin prior to the retrofit being completed. I needed the original thermostat to sell with the Penguin.

Did you previously have an Easy Start capacitor? If so, did they remove it, or just bypass it, leaving it in place?

I wanted the ES left in in the Penguin. The buyer of my Penguin wanted it as part of the sale as he has a small genset. Oliver removes the ES along with the Penguin during the retro fit.

Have you tried running your Truma Aventa AC on 20 Amp shore power?

Allen

When we got the LE2 home last evening I plugged in with an adaptor to the standard 115v outlet. Mine are on 15 amp breakers so may not actually answer your question. As soon as the AC kicked on, it popped the 15 amp circuit breaker. Will be installing my 30amp RV plug in the garage today.

BTW the Truma did run OK on the 3200 watt generator all night. Just another test I wanted to perform.

@Ollie-Haus

Got my panel installed a few weeks before we took delivery.  I have a 50A circuit connected to it so I have to "manage" the connections to ensure I don't overload it. Although, it has breakers on the remote panel and the main panel.

With a 30A travel trailer it shouldn't be an issue.  I do like having the 20A outlet for other tools if I need it.  This model is from Connecticut Electric and I can close and lock the door with the trailer plugged in.

I stay with relatives which have standard 115v outlet on 20 amp breakers and would like to know if the Truma would run on this shore power.

Good to know about the Generator, I have the EU3200i.  Thank you, Allen

Truma says that a 3000 watt generator is required to run the Aventa unit.  A 20 amp outlet would not be sufficient.

So with the retrofit complete, ours runs fine on AC setting using a 20amp circuit.  However we do have a 30amp we plug into in our barn.  We run a 12volt fan and the invertor when we are storing it in our barn.  Has anyone measured the E2 height with the retrofit?

I have not and won’t as I have 30 amp shore power at home. You could call Truma customer service and ask.
