Pete Gives His Video Testimonial With His Legacy Elite

picture
"When I was approaching my retirement, I was looking for my escape and I was looking all over the internet for a robust last forever trailer. I was finding other fiberglass creators and it was on one of the other forums that they said Hey there is this new guy on the block it's this company called Oliver. So I looked into it and I was hesitant to lay down the monies that were being asked at that time.

It was Christmas day 2007, I received a phone call... He said "Pete M.?" and I said "Yes", "Hi Pete, my name is Jim Oliver. Merry Christmas, I know it's an odd day to call. I also know you were hoping to actually see one of our trailers before making a commitment. I am 7 miles from your house at a relatives. Would you like to see one?". I said "Heck yea". I went over and Jim Oliver spent at least 2 hours with me showing me hull #1. He not only showed me the quality of the trailer but he told me about the Oliver family and their concept of taking care of their employees and their concept of making something that will last a lifetime and I committed right there. After 113,000 miles I haven't looked back at my decision and I could not be more pleased and I plan to put at least another 113,000 miles on it. One of my favorite things about the Oliver is that after 10 years my trailer still looks like it came off the factory floor yesterday and it's longevity.”

Sanitizing Your Fresh Water Tank
By: Jason Essary, Service Manager

Regardless if you winterize your camper, just drain the water for storage or use the system year round; at some point you will want to sanitize the fresh water system. This may sound tedious but with your Oliver Travel Trailer you can simply use the winterization/boondock port at the rear of the camper and let it do most of the work for you.

If you did winterize your camper, you will want to de-winterize prior to sanitizing the system. Please see ARTICLE for details on how to de-winterize.

Sanitization can be done at any time but is most often done after prolonged storage or prolonged use.

Mixing: Bleach Mixture ½ cup for 30 Gallon Tank

Using Bleach to Sanitize Fresh Water Tank

1.Prepare a ½ cup of bleach mixed with one gallon of water and place at rear winterization/boondock port.

2.Connect a short piece of water hose, approximately 2-3 feet long to the port and in the gallon jug of bleach solution.

3.Check to ensure the fresh tank drain valve is closed.

Picture above shows the Fresh Tank drain valve in the closed position.

4.If water pump valves are not already in boondock mode then reconfigure valves accordingly. See diagram under the water pump access panel, in your owner’s manual, on the Oliver forum or online at Oliver University.

5.Turn water pump on and let the pump pull the bleach water solution into the fresh tank.

6.Once all of the solution has been pumped into the fresh water tank, turn the water pump off.

7.Connect your fresh water hose to the fresh connection port and turn the water on filling the fresh water tank to 100%.

8.Once the tank is full, let this solution sit in the tank for at least 10 – 15 minutes.

9.Change the water pump valves to normal mode.

10.Turn the water pump on and allow to pressurize the system.

11.Turn on your your kitchen, bath & exterior faucet cold water to pull some of the bleach solution through the fresh water lines. 30 seconds for each faucet is plenty of time.

12.Open the fresh water tank drain valve to allow bleach water solution to drain from tank.

13.Once again run water into the fresh water tank to rinse.

14.After rinsing at least one full 30 gallons through the tank, be sure to close the drain valve.

Cherry Blossom Festival

Washington's Grandest Springtime Tradition!

The blooming of the cherry trees around the Tidal Basin in Washington, D.C. has come to symbolize the natural beauty of our nation's capital city. The famous trees, a gift of Japan in 1912, signal Washington's beginning of spring with an explosion of life and color that surrounds the Tidal Basin in a sea of pale pink and white blossoms. In 2019, the Tidal Basin Welcome Area of the National Cherry Blossom Festival will be open on the weekends from March 23rd-24th through April 13th-14th. The Welcome area will be open the week of peak bloom as well and this will be announced on March 6th. Use this site to help plan your visit!
